28 years ago I was diagnoised with black melanoma and
given 6 weeks to live. The doctors
recommended the only thing they know... surgery. I decided to go natural. I have written a book called "Why Me?
Kicking Cancer and Other Life Changing Stuff" which tells my story of my
negative thinking and the changes I needed to make in every area of my life.
The book will show you how to live healthy, & wealthy and be totally
fufilled in every area of your life. My book is available from good book stores
in Australia or from my website: www.myfreedom.net.au

Making Pancakes
Bobbie, a six year old, decided one Saturday morning to fix
his parents and his 2 brothers’ pancakes for breakfast.
He found the big bowl he had seen mum use and the big
wooden spoon. He pulled over a stool to the counter and opened the pantry. He
pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling the flour on the floor.
He wasn’t exactly sure how to make the pancakes so he just
scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, and mixed in most of a
cup of milk. It didn’t taste so good so
he added some sugar. He had left a floury trail on the floor which by now had a
few tracks left by his kitten.
By now Bobbie was covered with flour and getting really frustrated. He wanted this to be something very special
for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad. He didn’t know what to do next. Should he put
it all into the oven or on the stove, he couldn’t remember how Mom did it. The problem was he didn’t know how the stove
worked! At that moment, he saw his
kitten licking from the bowl of mix. He reached to push her away, and knocked
the full egg carton to the floor.
Frantically he tried to clean up this monumental mess but slipped on the
eggs, getting his pyjamas white and sticky. This isn’t the way it should be
turning out!
Just then he saw Dad standing at the door. Big crocodile tears welled up in Bobbie’s
eyes. All he’d wanted to do was
something good, but he’d made a terrible mess.
He was sure a scolding was coming, maybe even being sent to his room. But his father just watched him with a heart
full of love.
Then, walking through the mess, Dad picked up his crying
son, hugged him and loved him, getting his own pyjamas white and sticky in the
process. That’s how God deals with
us. We try to do something good in life
and in business but it turns into a mess.
Our marriage gets all sticky or we insult a friend or business
associate, or we do a really bad sales presentation or our health goes sour.
Sometimes we just stand there in tears because we can’t think of anything else to do. That’s when friends and family will support
us even though some of our mess gets on them.
They will love us and be proud of us and help us clean up the mess.
But just because
we might mess up, we can’t stop trying to make pancakes for others. Sooner or later we will get it right, and
then they and you will be glad you tried. This book is about my attempt to make
pancakes.
Quotes are something I use to give focus and they remind me to take control of my thinking!
"There aren't any great people. There are just great challenges that ordinary people like you and me are forced by circumstances to meet". William F Halsey.
"Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent". Marylyn von Savant.
"The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand at times of challenge and controversy". Martin Luther King.
"Show me someone who has done something worthwhile and and I will show you someone who has overcome adversity". Lou Holtz
Have you ever asked yourself: "How can I make things happen better in my life?"
How can you make difficult
relationships work, how can you be a dynamic leader, how can you have a healthy body and
how do you make permanent changes in your life, how do you create balance in your life?
I discovered it really isn't so much about the how, but why would you want to do all these things! Personal development touches on the feelings, longings,
and emotions felt in many professionals and business people in today’s busy
challenging world.
Incorporating
these principles into careers, dreams and relationships, will bring great
rewards of personal growth, life balance, productivity, happiness and peace of
mind. Leadership gurus say that future successful leaders will be called on to
demonstrate intense professional will and personal humility along with
emotional intelligence. My seminars share from my
personal life journey, insights into the application of these success principles
and when applied to your life, the huge difference they can make.
In
our complex and chaotic world there is little time left to reflect and
rediscover who you are as a leader and a human being. Rarely is there an opportunity
for people to stop long enough to consider who they are and the purpose they
are meant to fulfil. Most of our time is spent chasing the rewards of outward
success, thinking that this will make our lives significant. The search for success can be endless if it
is focused only on those outer rewards of success and not who you become as a
person along the way. No longer do you
need to live a mediocre existence. Absorb the truth of these principles, take
actions that align with them and discover what it means to be truly
successful. When you become authentic as a person, a human being, then and only
then can you expect to become a leader worth watching, admiring and following.
