Upon reflection, the biggest stumbling block to get a journey started to a life I am happy with was seven little letters. HONESTY. Over many years I had lied to myself and others, I had been less the honest in dealings with others, and had created a Disneyland in my head which had become a ...

Often, people look back on their day and wonder where the time has gone and why they were not able to accomplish the things that they needed and really wanted to. While it’s certainly true that there are only a limited number of hours within a day that people can use to accomplish the things that they need to do, it’s often not a question of managing your time but more of an act of managing yourself.
I love talking with clients about having a career doing something they love. They get excited, their energy goes up, they smile, and they feel good. They light up. Then they say, “But I could never really do that.” The energy and the excitement and the smile quickly fade. They sound forlorn, depressed, and tired. We love to dream about the possibilities, and then we scare ourselves off, fearful of life’s practicalities. There are lists of excuses people make about not being able to have a career they love. It could be money, time, effort, health insurance, whatever.
A strong foundation leads to progress and success. This idea applies to both a relationship and a company for them to surpass all the undertakings along their way. When a new structure is being built, great attention is given to its most crucial part â its foundation. When the foundation is faulty, definitely the whole structure will become unstable. Small problems will become big and small cracks will lead to a disastrous consequence. On the other hand, if everything start
Stressing happens once you allow fear centered thoughts spiral out of control. Next thing you realize, one scared thought has escalated into a multitude of thoughts that have you thinking that something bad is likely to happen to you. In case you are just like me, you then have done your own fair share of being anxious. I’ve experienced instances when I would likely keep worrying about almost anything, as though just about all circumstances were some how under my influence.
This is the ultimate transition that most people want to be going through. Do you want more success in every sense of the word? Do you want more money, love, happiness, and, above all, freedom? To understand how to be more successful, you must begin with understanding why you are not. I ...This is the ultimate transition that most people want to be going through. How do you feel on Mondays? Does your day begin with dread, overwhelm and heaviness? Or does your Monday start with excitement, enthusiasm and eage ess? I will not deny that some people face tough work environments, challenging coworkers, and frustrating projects. You could likely find a roomful of people to commiserate with you about any difficult work situation. Does commiseration make you feel any better? In my experience, commiseration made work feel worse. When you focus on the challenging and frustrating aspects of your day, you will likely encounter more of the same.
Do you have a friend who attends Celebrate Recover? Has your friend ever asked you to come to a Celebrate Recovery gathering, but you turned down your friend's invitation because you had questions about Celebrate Recovery? Hopefully, this article will answer your questions. Let's start with the name. Yes, the full name is Celebrate Recovery, but sometimes this is shortened to just C/R.
"A little restraint is good" Every day we are faced with situations that could easily bring out the worst in us. A colleague says something that upsets you. A friend makes a comment that irritates you. It is easy to lash right back, but it might be wiser to adopt a little restraint. Our ...

Are these your thoughts? Ok, so yes, call me Cleopatra, the Queen of Denial. I have hurts, hang-ups, and bad habits that I won’t admit to and I have stuffed them for a long time. Now you tell me that I am powerless to heal myself from my hurts, hang-ups, and bad habits. So where is the hope? Funny you should ask. Hope, that is the third topic we talk about in Celebrate Recovery.
In the last part of this series, I suggested that we can actually enjoy marketing when we’re able to tap into our natural compassion and conce for others. As I said, I think this often requires us to let go of the ways we protect ourselves from getting hurt when we interact with another person. For example, if we’re at a networking event, and we’re worried that others won’t take seriously what we have to offer, maybe we’ll loudly brag about our products and services, not letting anyone get a word in edgewise.
Men are not prisoners of fate, but only prisoners of their own minds. – Franklin D. Roosevelt To begin, let me ask you some revealing questions. As a business owner, can you walk away from your business today for one or two months and come back to find it operating smoothly and profitably? ...

Unless you are extremely advanced in your personal development path, you have some limiting beliefs. We all do. You know, the kind of beliefs that either stop you in your tracks, hold you back, or slow you down. The kind of beliefs that you typically do not verbalize, perhaps because you are not aware of them on a conscious level. Yet, even when we are aware of our limiting beliefs and we realize we want to change them, or let them go; we find it really hard to do so. Why is that?
The nineties are gone and the millennium is here. Are you doing the dream? Are you keeping the vows you made to yourself? If not, it's time. Of course, anyone who has ever tried to succeed knows that doing so is easier on paper than it is in practice. Countless delays and confounding ...
Each day I park in my driveway, and wish that I could park my car in the garage. Each day I say to myself, "You need to get rid of this stuff. You don't need it, and you're not using it. Either take it and give it away or sell it at a garage sale. Just do something." Have you ever had those exact thoughts. Maybe you have a storage unit, and you think, "Why do I have a storage unit. I don't need it, and besides that takes money away from me and my family." We Americans are known for our stuff. We like to have the newest gadgets, and keep our mementos from years and years of collecting.
Going through a divorce is a very challenging time in a person’s life. It is hard to adjust to being single again, as well as living “out of the habit” of being married, especially if you have been married for many, many years. Eventually, you begin to think about dating, but it is suggested ...
When we hear the word makeover, most of us think about transforming our physical appearance in some way. Just recently, for instance, I have toyed with the idea of growing my hair out. Perusing through the big hairstyle book at my local salon, I tried to imagine which hairstyles would look ...
Many people today are aware of the incredible power of the mind. It is comforting to know that we possess an inherent ability to create whatever we set our mind to. Every one of us has the capacity to tap into this inner resource at will, yet many still do not fully understand how to successfully harness it or where to begin when intending change. The question is how do we effectively co-create with this facet of our consciousness to achieve the results we desire? The answer lies in the awareness of one’s thoughts and feelings.
rnIt is good to have an idol in sales, someone who you can look up to or learn from. This is true in the field of lead generation and appointment setting services . Think of generating sales leads as a rather thankless job, and you will realize why a lot of people leave after some time. But that is not the case for everyone. There will be people who will rise up to the challenge and make a name for themselves. In fact, there are some who have actually contributed to the histo

In my latest book “Life” and seminar series, “ The L.I.F.E. Experience,” we bring home the point that Life is an inside job. We often spend our energy, time and money looking outside of ours selves for the answers, when everything we need is within us. Growing up my ...
Having a positive relationship with your boss ranks close to the top in evaluating job satisfaction for most people. Any of us who have been employed regularly for any length of time know that having a boss who “is just plain miserable” affects your desire to head to work in the morning and often how quickly you fall asleep at night. I’ve stayed up worrying many a night about having to work with a “not so likeable” boss.
Recently, I've had the opportunity to travel to multiple women's conferences and speak to scores of women entrepreneurs about their Big Ideas, Dreams and Goals. Questions come up on a range of topics including how to start a business to taking an existing business to the next level of success. One question that seems to have a recurring theme right now is "How do I create a successful business while maintaining work/life balance?" Great question! And one that deserves an answer with some solid tips and solutions.

Some years ago, I called a dear friend of mine, Mary, to ask her advice. All I got was her answering machine, hour after hour. Alarmed that this usually accessible person didn’t seem to be available, I called her best friend, Amy. Together, we become more alarmed. Both of us started making calls to mutual friends, asking if they had see Mary. We then started looking at sites she might be visiting: coffee shops, cafes, stores. No Mary.
Along with joy and a feeling of connectedness to others, the holidays bring a rise in stress. Although most people over 30 experience a rise in stress over the holidays, according to the American Psychological Association, women are most likely to experience a sharp increase (44%) in stress, versus a 30% rise for men, as the bulk of the shopping, decorating and food preparation tends to fall on women.
Branding is a process started by large corporations like Nike as part of a marketing strategy in the 1980’s. It is a concept which had them selling their customers an image and an idea. Soon, along with the pair of running shoes you were buying, you were also buying into the concept, and "just ...

The other day I noticed a large growth of weeds in one of my gardens. I hadn’t noticed them in previous years but now they spoil the look of the garden and they are in the way of the new plants. As I was weeding, it occurred to me that the weeds are similar to limiting beliefs. They may have been around for many years and perhaps they didn’t interfere with us, but when we are ready for a different goal the belief is in the way of success and has to be removed. Some of the weeds came out easily with the bulb sitting near the surface of the ground.
I have a couple of friends with young kids. When I ask them what they are doing for July 4th, they are either not taking their kids for fireworks or doing it at a distance, because of the possible loud noises. None of which occurs to me. As a first time mom, should I even have considered these? The only thing I can think about is how exciting it will be for B. Then again, I hadn't really ever stopped to think of the "loud" noises that might scare him. Should I be more cautious?
Last night, our family went to The Grove here in Los Angeles. The Grove is a large retail shopping center that really goes above and beyond decorating for the holidays. They have a beautifully decorated tree larger than the one at Rockefeller Center in New York. They "create" falling snow every evening. For children who live in So. Califo ia, this is a delight! As we strolled through the crowd, I noticed a very long line of children waiting outside a rather large gingerbread house. As my children and I peeked through the windows, we could see old St.

Here is an exercise I do with many coaches, when I start teaching them about marketing their coaching business online. I say: "Let's say you meet me somewhere, and I am in your target market. How are you going to try to turn me into a coaching client?" I have heard many different answers to this question: From a life coach who helps people improve their lives: "I offer great life coaching services. My life coaching services will improve your whole outlook on life! How about
What amount of time have you spent online today? Of that time, what amount of it was by means of a cell phone like a cell phone or tablet? Life is full of transitions. Some we choose and some sneak up on us. And even when we choose, a sneaky one can still slip in sideways. To plan is necessary, but too much structure can be just as stressful as none at all. Best to always leave room for flexibility. This reminds me of the young tree and the older tree.

I wrote on Facebook recently that when one door closes and another opens. One of the comments was that not only was this true but many times the door that opens is, more often than not, a better door.
It’s official (in case you hadn’t already noticed): technology is raising our stress level precipitously. In fact, Mike Kushner, co-owner of a computer solutions company in Palo Alto, Califo ia, has paramedics ready to respond to calls from what he calls the “digitally desperate.” Some of that desperation is created because the hardware malfunctions.
All of us know how a small stone thrown into a pond can stir up ripples all around it. This imagery is a good way of showing how a single person can make a big impact on his surroundings and the people around him. It shows how a person and his attitude can affect so much even without his notice or knowledge.
Often when I am working with clients and they are having problems making the decisive move I see that it is ‘everybody’ that holds them back. The ‘everybody’ I am talking about is the ‘everybody’ that is in our mind, that acts as our internal censor. The n“What will everybody think is if ...
