That is it! I have had enough... and who is this Inner Critic person anyhow? I do not even remember the day when I originally put that character on my personal management team. Then, to top it all off, as well as insidiously positioning itself as my second in command, I find that much of its time on the job is spent on spreading lies and malicious rumours! Here is the clincher though, I cannot remove this disdainful little character, it constantly eludes me.

I'm going to start this off by inviting you to recognize the fact that everything in our world is made of energy, including us. And, once you understand that everything is energy, you can then begin to understand that there is no such thing as separation. Even though our limited 5 senses may tell us differently, everything IS connected. There is just energy, that's all there is and it comes in many different, and constantly changing, forms. The differences are how energies interact with each other.
Over the years I have consistently taught “there is no such thing as freedom without responsibility.” When I explain this to the adolescents with whom I have worked, the parents nod their heads in agreement. Then I would watch in amazement as the same parents would make all sorts ...
From the moment a child is born, the parent begins to worry: illnesses, the safety of vaccinations, best ways to discipline, foods that children are most likely to choke on when eating. It seems worry and parenting go hand and hand, much like peanut butter and jelly; you can’t have one without the other.
Too much driving, too much shopping, too much rushing around, running the kids around--family and work demands have you stressed out. There are many ways to help you control stress. Here are some unique methods I've collected. 1. Yell! But---be sure you are alone. The best place is in the car with the windows up. Stuck in traffic? Try it. 2. Sing. This is close to the first one. Lots of people swear by the power of music to release tension and stress. Sing wherever you feel comfortable. It doesn't matter what. Just have some fun with it! I have done this onr
Have you ever gotten angry and reverted back to acting like you were five years old? Maybe your partner pushed your “button” and you began whining, defending, shouting, or pouting? Believe it or not, many people tend to act unconsciously when such an opportunity arises and come across as needy and dependent little children. An old programmed tape is playing
Earlier this year, a client expressed excitement that Oprah, the woman who has everything, was going to admit that even she couldn’t lose weight and keep it off. I didn’t know what Oprah was going to say during her January show about her weight and living her best life. I only know what is true – right now - in my life, or in some cases my clients’ lives. I can relate to a client struggling with weight loss.
Each day that we awaken is a new day to take our lives forward. It is an opportunity to create something new, something fresh. No matter what you have gone thru, no matter how painful, how heart-wrenching, you don’t have to be in that situation forever. You do not have to be in pain forever. As dark as things may seem today, your life does not have to be in the darkness forever. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is not an oncoming train. ï Right about now you may be saying that you can’t see the light.
How many times have you taken a pile of work home over the weekend, fully intending to get it all done, and then you didn’t have enough time to complete even half of the work. And then what happens? Instead of learning from this experience and taking home less work the next time, you do the same thing all over again… and again.
Are We Actually Conscious? Just how much of what we perceive as ourselves and our life is actually the result of our conscious, intelligent and knowledgeable decisions, and how much is the result of our automatic and unconscious response to the influences of economic, political and social conditioning? And are we even aware of not only what we are, but how we became what we are? And perhaps more importantly, are we afraid of learning the truth about such things? We seem to assume so much these days, and some of those assumptions can become real problems.
In another one of my articles entitled Personal (and Professional) Success Tip: Do Not Do What Mr. Will And The Pizza Man Did, I relate the true story of a business owner who, having sold his business after 40 years of working in it like a slave, died within four days of finalizing the sale and never got around to doing many of the things he really wanted to do in life. Then I asked the reader these question: What is YOUR biggest wish, YOUR lifelong dream ... and what’s keeping you from going after it?
If you have perfectionist tendencies, you probably have some unfinished projects. Projects that you began with great enthusiasm are now collecting dust somewhere in your home, head, or computer. Perfectionists have a grand and idealized vision of the project’s outcome. They measure themselves against the ideal and often come up short. So, the perfectionist either toils endlessly to make it perfect or puts the project on hold until he has enough time to finish it. Of course,
“Everyone holds within them the magic to make their dreams come true, but sadly few realize this. When your energy, passion, vision and practical side come together with your inner beliefs, dreams can be created and achieved.” Lori Snyder, CPC YOU can think, you can wish and you can create a million scenarios, but it won’t be real until you start doing. It also will not be doable until you take the steps to learn how the subconscious and conscious mind works together in synchronicity to create your reality.

Often that which we fear never actually takes place. We spend a lifetime fearing or worrying about some eventuality that never arrives. And we frequently worry in wild disproportion to what might actually occur. The bottom line is that none of the fearâand the resulting anxiety, stress, distraction of it allâreally does any good. It reduces our ability to be intuitive or even present in our lives, and it leads to serious deterioration of our health and, particularly, our

There are those among us who were born to do, and others that were born to think. You also have the few who think about doing all the time, but never accomplish anything. If you want to become a person of action, a doer not a thinker, you should understand that the techniques, which work for some, may not work for you.
Another “New” year is upon us – but what has changed? Research (in the Universities of Chicago, Milan, Harvard – the list is quite long!) tells us that, in general, normal people lead repetitive lives where little ever changes. Sure, you might have made an important career change, met the love of your life (for now!), launched a new business, or captained your club on their way to winning the cup in the year just ended. But, so what! Little, under the skin (personal or corporate) ever really changes. How many New Year resolutions were a repeat of a previous year’s? Does t

What We Don't Want To Know Can it really be true that we don't live in the real world but rather a conceptual representation of the world? What do we even mean by the idea of living in the world? One of the most powerful realizations that meditation can reveal to us is the true nature of what is real and what is the abstract constructs of our mind, and many people are unable to deal with this kind of truth when they encounter it. So, what exactly is going on?
We had the pleasure of visiting Boone Hall yesterday which is an old plantation home in Charleston. You may recognize it as it has been featured in various movies such as 'North and South' and my favorite 'The Notebook.' Boone Hall began as an indigo plantation and with the turn of each new owner it changed to a brick manufacturing plant and cotton plantation to the world's largest pecan tree farm and now to agricultural and tourism. Each new owner saw the opportunity of his time and created significant wealth from it. They moved and adapted to the demands and waves of their eras.

"I hate living with you!" she declares as she plops herself on the kitchen floor, arms crossed, legs crossed, eyes crossed. What are you thinking at this critical moment?

So many people struggle against things that they can do nothing about. So many people become upset or annoyed about things over which they have no control. And oh so few people take control of the one thing in life over which they can exercise absolute and total control. Like puppets, we allow our mood to be pulled up or down in tandem with the ups and downs of life. But the downs – or even just the “not-too-bads” – that we encounter are what they are. These things are sent to try us and most of us are found wanting.
As I’ve worked with clients throughout my career as a coach, I’ve noticed that it’s usually pretty easy for most people to give voice to their dissatisfaction. It’s not a difficult thing to define that you’re overweight, in debt, or that your relationship isn’t working. While painful, those realities are generally pretty obvious. What I’ve seen people have a more challenging time with is the process of giving voice to the alte ative circumstances they seek.

The Human Factors Success is as much about attitude as it is about skills. You can have all the skills in the world and still fail to achieve an objective. Setting goals, defining objectives and creating plans designed to achieve those objectives is essential of course, but really successful people know that there is a human factor to the success equation that can and often does make the difference between success and failure. These human characteristics are usually invisible and work in the background and this is why they rarely receive the attention they deserve.

I guess the answer to that often debated question will really depend on one’s bias. If you are a health buff and take to heart
