“The gift of individuation is the discovery of the Infinite within us, and the continual revelations daily when we live from that place of self-discovery.” ~Anita Briggs We all have attended social events, and there comes a time in which we can choose to change our perception and expect miracles. Today I want to share with you something that happened to me last week, as I was getting ready for a friend’s wedding…

Sometimes I feel like I'm in the ego management business -- in the midst of finishing a new book, preparing to launch The Shadow Effect, building two new websites, creating an amazing webspace for my coaches, leading workshops and trainings, making brochures, Twittering and updating my Facebook status, mothering, and more. It can be overwhelming and bring up the most earthly behaviors -- mine and others. Of course, I'm in denial when they're mine and appalled when they're som
"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." — Joseph Campbellnn— The Cornfield —nn When I was a child I loved spring and late summer-into-early-fall.n n These seasons were my invitation to walk the cornfield behind our house. It led from our house to the town cemetery situated at the top of a hill.nn I would walk for hours each week across this wide open playground that never failed to ignite my i
With increasing stress in today's society, it is becoming increasingly important to find ways to relax and unwind. One of the best ways to go about managing your stress is to live a zen lifestyle. Here are three easy steps to live a zen lifetstyle! 1.) Posture Your posture is the expression of your self. It is where everything begins. You should not seek to master posture as a means to attain a particular state of mind. Your posture is the purpose itself of practice of zen li
The sun was warm. The sky was blue. There was crispness to the air. It was a perfect autumn day. Laura and I drove to the county park for a walk around the lake. Now living in D.C., I thought my good friend would enjoy the afte oon in a rural setting. The path around the lake reminds me of an Eastern woodlands area, with trees forming a canopy over a path that curves the lake bed contours. It’s a patch of different terrain than the surrounding Mid-West farmland.
Goal Setting is one of those important aspects of life that I never did single or married. I have always just gone with the flow. Not saying that is a bad; it is I just didn't have any focus and just moved along with life events as they unfolded. After my divorce with my life in complete array, I knew that I needed to start choosing my priorities differently. Four years ago, I was attending a company workshop on Goal Setting and the coach asked us if the life we are living today is what we want in 10 years.
One aspect of business writing I have noticed is the enjoyment some people have for dismissing the Law of Attraction in business. I have read a few business blogs that mention that the Law of Attraction does not work in business because you need to do more than sit on your couch wishing for your business to be successful. When I was researching coaching a few years ago I got a book called, “Getting Started in Personal and Executive Coaching,” I remember a passage about coaches mistakenly relying on the Law of Attraction.

Traveling across the US has been an old dream of mine for quite some time. Just recently I had the opportunity to experience Divine Creating at it's best by fulfilling that almost forgotten dream. On Sunday July 3 my daughter and I completed the four day trip across this beautiful country from Saugerties, New York to Seattle, Washington. How appropriate that our traveling across the US was during the 4th of July weekend!
Objective: Learn how to ‘let go’ and flow. What are emotional blockages? I think we can all answer that question with a variety of responses from our direct experience. How might we learn from them? Here I’ll present some interesting and possibly new points of view you may not have thought about before now. Some things may be just refreshers of what you already know. Hopefully you’ll gain some new tools to apply in your daily living. Definition of terms: Attachments to outcome: Holding an emotional charge or feeling for a desired result.
Fear is an everyday emotion. It drives us to do things which we would not normally do. It has us acting and behaving in ways that are not who we truly are: divine beings of love, created in the likeness of God. Each day, we are inspired by the energy of love to be who we truly are. Yet we ...
I remember watching civil rights workers being hosed down by police on the national news. I remember the march on Washington to which hundreds of thousands of people traveled on a hot summer day to hear that "I Have a Dream" speech. I remember President Johnson signing into law the Voting ...
I became a mother when I was seven years old. An all consuming love happened in an instant, as it does for some new mothers, when my angelic brother, just having been adopted, was brought home at seven days old. When I first saw him, gorgeous as a crescent moon, with blond tiny ringlets, I was seeing God for my first time in the depth of his hazel eyes. From that moment he was mine; loving him as if he had come from my own body.
(1) Keeping a Spiritual journal is a wonderful way to record your ideas, break through mental barriers, clarify your thoughts, refine your goals, express your creativity, and provide an open channel for new feelings and intuitions to flow freely. You may want to place a Title on the cover and write a short dedication (perhaps a sentence or two, or a prayer, or a favorite quote or sacred poem) as an initial entry: the first step is always the hardest, so start with something easy like this.
Given I’m an inspirational writer and speaker, I often run into individuals who want to know, “Is it okay for me to be assertive?” I always tell them, “That depends.” We’re all born with a dominant fight or flight responses. This benefits us in life or death situations, but most often ...
In spirituality we read much about authenticity and integrity, but I’m not always sure we have a clear understanding of these terms. Some folks have told me they believe these words refer to being honest and true to themselves, but I most often feel that they are speaking about their ego-self ...
1. Cultivate Compassion- We can all improve the quality of our lives by looking more often through the lens of love and compassion. The Buddhists have a term called lovingkindness, which is a practice that they consciously cultivate. The yogis use a Sanskrit term called 'ahimsa', which is one ...
Don Miguel Ruiz, author of “The Four Agreements” and my personal mentor, spoke on more than one occasion about living one’s life in a totally different way than we had been taught to live; what he called ”living the will of God.” He asked us to imagine what living the will of God might look ...
Through a Simple Twist of Faith Part one of a three-part article written by Randi G. Fine I was born into a highly observant Jewish family. My mother’s father, a Lithuanian immigrant, was a pious man. He was a cantor by trade—an ordained Jewish clergy with a magnificent voice who joined the rabbi in leading his congregation in Hebrew prayer. Whether in the synagogue or at home, my grandfather sung prayers to the God he believed in and loved, all day long. He never failed to
Yesterday I was talking to a client who is struggling in her business. She has skill, experience and amazing wisdom and yet she admits she is piddling around. I asked her what she thinks is holding her back. With a huge sigh of frustration she was quick to admit this: "I am having trouble ...
Many years ago, when I was in Law School my wife and I worked with Catholic Engaged Encounter. We would go to meetings. We worked diligently to prepare talks and to learn them. We would spend weekends away actually giving the weekends. At the time I worked for one of the councilmen in New ...
As I write this, I am looking out over Collins Avenue, in Miami Beach, Florida. It is Christmas Eve and there are a handful of cars on the road. The weather is a delightful 64 degrees Fahrenheit and a cool breeze licks my fingertips. The ocean is over my shoulder and dozens of palm trees stand motionless, the night sky cloaking their lush green fronds and sturdy brown trunks. I steady my eyes over a family of palms waiting for one to sway, but tonight they seem to prefer stil
Question: A thought/concept... If we are to make an assumption that good and evil do exist, that they are opposites of the same condition of existence and strive against each other, that existence is the state of being, that reality is simply the observable portion of existence...I am rambling, but this is the way my thoughts, my conscious and unconscious are struggling at the moment. To the point; good is love that tends towards order and higher functioning, the opposite is
‘Your money, or your life; choose’ is a question that you may not think about because you are so busy living, that you forget to stop and think about what you want as a way of life. You may have landed a job, but have you looked around to see how you feel in this position? It is good for you to be working, but what price do you pay to have this job and this way of life? Is anyone in your family, (yourself included) suffered because of the sacrifices you have made and are still making? Over stepping your boundaries

The “Gimme” Spirituality of The Secret 'Greed, like the love of comfort, is a kind of fear.' Cyril Connolly (1903-1974) Leave it to our consumer capitalist culture to turn even high spiritual principles into cash. The creed of spiritual materialism has been inching up on us for some time from ...
I’ve just had the great pleasure of reading The Timekeeper by Mitch Albom. The book explores how time is man-made. It appears that seconds, minutes, hours, weeks and months only exist in the our minds. We made them up so we can run our modern world. For many though, time ensnares us. The book tells the story of a man who is facing death wishing that time could slow down. By way of contrast, an angst-ridden teenager wishes that time would speed up. Old Father Time rues the day he started the clock ticking.
Easter People-Our Greater Yet To Be The Easter experience for Jesus’ disciples was chaos. What had happened? Their great master had been crucified. It is suggested that he was seen in a celestial-light body, yet physical enough to be present even touched by Thomas.r
I was recently on a business trip to Guadalajara. On the return flight a young family was seated a couple of rows up from me. They had a 2 and 4-year-old traveling with them. Once the plane took off, the 2-year-old girl made it quite clear that she was not a happy camper with the air pressure in her little head and started wailing at the top of her lungs to the horror of her parents. It immediately took me back to the time when I traveled with my 2-year-old daughter and had a similar experience. She cried from the moment we took off from Denver to the moment we landed in Chicago.

Many people have this idea that when they feel appreciated they feel happy. Knowing that they make a difference in someone else’s life they are happy. Similar to their values Have a career that is similar to their values in life makes them happy. Having a great family makes you happy. Having good co-workers makes you happy. Many times you will face attacks by Satan in all kinds of forms. He will seem to be coming at you from all directions, but guess who will still be laughing even in the midst of the assaults? Yes, that's right! YOU!!!! I am a witness that no matter how hard enemies attack, even in the midst of trouble, the dust of confusion, outright devilish assignments and character assassination attempts, God will give you joy over your enemies. You will have joy because of the covering of God. He will cover you so that you will be so immune to Satan's tricks, that you will be able to dance with joy!

Over the years I have met lots of people who get ill and expect someone to care for them… and many times they are let down. Expectations Expectations are a type of desire. We want something to be a certain way… and this leads to great pain and suffering. Because many times what we want doesn’t turn out the way we expected. So if we let go of expectations… and decide to allow people to be themselves and care for their own needs. Then we are never let down. Live in the World Now

This past week, I found myself on the road again. My family and I took an emergency road trip to my husband’s home town. Though, not a pleasant reason to travel, I suddenly remembered how much I like the actual process of traveling. When I was a kid, we traveled a lot My parents being from the Czech Republic, we went to Europe often. We also moved a bunch, four new houses in three different states by the time I was ten!
I keep hearing that we are not perfect and I must disagree. Each of us is being the best person we know how to be, at the present moment, with the information we have, and I believe that makes us perfect. We don’t always like everything about ourselves or our lives, which is a catalyst for change. And, although change is sometimes difficult, it is also a wonderful thing. Change has created everything on this planet including you and me. Children change into adults, adults cha
This is one of my communications from 2000. I asked advice about my own jou ey. As you can see, angel answers are about spiritual growth and our own free will impacts greatly upon our jou ey. Like you, I wanted to know the short cut answers, but was directed back to prayer, and the advice ...
Hello, I'm Joy Idries and it wasn't that long ago that I was living in a virtual prison of constant pain and fatigue. I had tried many different ways of getting rid of it but nothing much seemed to work. I might get the edge taken off it for a little while if I took regular drugs but then it ...
Personal Development is not the same thing as Self Development. Personal Development starts with becoming problem free. Solving problems never developed anyone. It just allows one to tolerate a situation until the problem returns. Being problem-free allows me to undertake life as a challenge. Personal Development is a Life Challenge and as I succeed in my life challenges and learn my life lessons, I develop personally on my individual and unique path in life. Learning my lessons and succeeding in my challenges allows me to develop my Self.r
Sometimes life gets pretty tough and dark and a term sometimes used âWalking the dark night of the soulâ isnât far from the truth. nnItâs during this time a sense of loneliness might be experienced; thereâs no-one around to provide comfort or support and we think to ourselves no-one understands and cry âIâve tried everythingâ and struggle to find the switch to turn the light back on. nnThis would be a pretty good time to call in for some spiritual help. When s

We have been told that the things we don't like in our children are the same things we don't like in ourselves. We are told that we project our own flaws and issues onto our perceived enemies in an attempt to work them out within ourselves. We stereotype people according to who they hang out ...
It's really easy to press delete, to skip a message, to not answer a call or to judge another person for what they do or don't do. It's easy to move forward and not help another; Oh yes, it's easy. It's easy to pick and poke, joke and frown at everything that someone needs help with..it's easy to be the wolf in sheeps clothing. Yes, it's easy. How do I know?

Coaching is a connection of two minds in communication. The role of the Coach is to ask questions. The task of the Coachee is to find the answers. The Levels of Coaching are determined by how, where, and when the Coachee accesses the answers. A level of coaching is determined by whether: • It accesses the Conscious, Sub-Conscious or Super-Conscious Mind • It is a Dependent, an Inter-dependent or an Inter-developmental Relationship • It addresses the future, the past or the present moment of time • It is intellectual, instinctive or intuitiver
This weekend was exceptional. It was hot and sunny and it seemed as though the days were full of life. Birds were singing, bees were buzzing and crickets were playing their tunes. There were sounds of children splashing in water everywhere. Even the cats were frolicking under the newly leaved bushes. I took time to prepare and plant my garden. Planting for me is very relaxing. I go into myself when I am digging and putting my hands in the earth. As I dug I could feel the tens
