I spent almost a month in Tucson recently at the Gem Show. Behind the apartment complex where I stayed was a small expanse of desert. I was staying there with my partner Scoop and a good friend. My friend went out in the mornings to say prayers in the desert and meditate in nature. ...

Here are three more meditation tips to help you to get more from your meditation practice. Meditation Tips No. 4: Instant Enlightenmentr Good teachers are incredibly useful to you, especially when starting out with your meditation practice. Thereafter, they become guides who help to keep you on track, and help to point out options that you may not have thought of on your own.
Reiki and Theta Healing utilize the universal life force for healing. With Reiki, the practitioner places his or her hands over the client and allows the energy to flow where it’s needed. Theta Healing teaches the practitioner to connect to Source and command and witness changes in the ...
Are the views on religious authority changing? You bet, and like so many changes in the history of religion, that change is coming from the people who are at the bottom of the pyramid. As a student of Christian Science, I understand those at the top of the Christian Scientists hierarchy don’t like the idea of saying the Church’s views are changing because it implies their views were wrong in the past. But, in truth, the institutional church is always changing. No question, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, has changed dramatically over the last 125 years.
To Heal or Not to Heal? That is the question. Well, it is a question anyway. It is not a question you may have pondered too much, and if you have, given the choice of experiencing healing or to not experience healing. Then I think most of us, if not all of us, would tick the 'be healed' box. We humans, and I suspect many mammals, are motivated by two underlying urges: To avoid pain and to experience pleasure. And many of our decisions and actions in our lives can be tracked down to these two primal urges.
Andrea Bocelli’s CD, Romanza, was playing on my car stereo. But, I wasn’t following the rule to listen. Because I was driving in hectic traffic, I was concentrating on following the rules of the road. Sure enough, the traffic light ahead turned yellow, I slowed down and followed the rule to stop. The light turned red. I waited. Traffic passed in front of me until my traffic light again turned green. However, instead of following the rule to go, an intuition told me to pause. I looked to my left in time to see a car speed by in front of me.
Last year I was reading one of the articles submitted to Gary Craig's Newsletter (founder of EFT) and it suggested that we pick up and sense a lot more of the world in the womb of our mother then we are aware of. We pick up on emotions and thoughts that our mother and father have during ...
Spirit quartz can be found in amethyst, citrine, a combination of amethyst and citrine as well as a whitish to clear color. This type of stone is also known by Cactus Quartz, Fairy Quartz or Porcupine Quartz. Spirit quartz is made from quartz that shows a very unusual growth pattern. The typical growth pattern of spirit quartz is that of a main crystal formation with a main termination at the top, that is covered with small crystal points. Has a powerful healing energy is dir
Mary Poppin’s comeback, “That’s a pie crust promise, easily made, easily broken,” echoes in my head as I listen to partners repeat marriage vows to one another. Weddings may be impressive, but statistics have it; human beings are not good at keeping their promises. The divorce rate is such that almost every person now-a-days has been affected, directly or indirectly, by broken vows. How do we experience a promise fulfilled? A vow is a declaration made by one person to another, binding the person who makes the promise to do, or not do, a specified act. Vows are important.
If I were to say to you "there is a fox sitting in my garden enjoying the morning sun", you would probably know what I mean by the word 'fox'. However, if I were to say to you that "God inspired me this morning". Then we have a very different situation. Would you actually know what I meant by the word 'God'?
We all yearn for love whether it’s romantic or other. Love vibrates at a higher rate and love stones are a wonderful tool to build on that vibration. Stones have different healing properties and have been used as a healing approach for centuries. My favorite love stone is Rose Quartz. Buy it ...
Grandma made me smile. Almost one hundred years old, she was lucid and bright as we caught up on the family news. Then after a bit, Grandma paused before thoughtfully telling me, “Cheryl, our human minds make us stupid, so pay attention and don’t follow its impressions, follow Love and wisdom.” She backed up her philosophy with a story. Grandma told me, “In the early 20th century, getting a gas powered vehicle was a milestone on the farm. Cheryl, you can’t imagine how much more useful a truck was compared to using horses.
Thinking and behavior, in the name of religion and church, seem foul sometimes. Instead of avoiding or blaming, a little experiment can be done. Religion and church can be evaluated to determine if they really are the source of thinking and behavior. This effort has to be scientific, minus the ...
If you fell down and hit you head, were in a car accident, or became violently ill, would you seek medical attention? Would you go to the hospital or doctor as soon as possible? The answer is yes, of course you would. Then why don’t we seek help when we suffer an emotional loss? So many ...
STICKS AND STONES By Marla Mitchell There’s an old proverb, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” We all remember hearing it as children and we may have even said it a time or two when someone was being mean to us but, did it make us feel any better or stop the person from berating us again? Usually not, plus acting hurt or offended only made the situation worse. That would just lead to more insulting names with the suggestion to “… grow a thicker skin.” How helpful is that?

Taking care of you body is very important. It is difficult to pursue your dreams when you don’t have your health. Your body is your precious capsule that keeps you on this physical plane. I have learned first hand from a near death experience as to how important life is. When I started ...
The Harmony of One Nine days of sacred sound and not a word to say. I have found my voice and lost it at the same time. While I have no way of conveying the depth and magic of the experience, there are stories to tell. It is my fervent wish that through the use of my "voice" here on the page, others may find ways to connect with that sacred voice within their own hearts. To clarify, I have recently attended the Sound Healing Intensive given by Jonathan Goldman in Colorado. It was 9 days of using sound to shift frequency and vibration both personally and for the planet.
Meditation Tips No. 1: Time & Habitsr When meditation was imported into the West, the myth of the 20 minute meditation was borne. This short amount of time made the task of selling meditation easier, and it formed a part of the packaging which encouraged Western people to try it.
Imagine a stream running gently through all of creation. It surges in places moving faster with more excitement and then slows to a serene place now and again. The current of this stream is filled with all manner of gifts, blessings, good feelings, exciting times and wonderful people to interact ...
Two years ago, I heard about a therapist in Hawaii who cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients--without ever seeing any of them. The psychologist would study an inmate's chart and then look within himself to see how he created that person's illness. As he improved himself, the patient improved. When I first heard this story, I thought it was an urban legend. How could anyone heal anyone else by healing himself? How could even the best self-improvement master cure
Nutshell: Our default setting is “Happy.” We came into this world Happy. We were not afraid, we did not judge ourselves or other people— or anything in the universe. We were One With It All. Enlightened. Gurus. But instead of people worshipping at our feet and begging us to teach them how to be so happy, they were determined to teach us to be afraid. It was the only way they could control us. They judged us, told us what was good and bad behavior; right and wrong thoughts; acceptable and non-acceptable ways of being. They domesticated us, just like a new puppy.
New Year 2018 New Year Day is one of the most popular festive occasions celebrated all over the world. Many people across the world celebrate this occasion with their loved ones and in large gatherings. According to the Gregorian calendar, January 1 is the New Year Day and it is a restricted holiday in India. Most of the people prefer late night New Year celebrations. On January 1, the security is tightened in major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai. This day signified that the
When we look around, there seems to be so much tragedy and injustice. Maybe you ask yourself, "Is it my job to draw attention to it? Or does that just make me part of the problem?" To wake up to the truth about government, religions and corrupt political and social agendas, and to "do something about it" means that I must argue with the illusion, give power to it, believe it is real - and therefore stay asleep spiritually. We cannot argue with "reality" and be awake at the same time.
âDuring this time of worldwide strife, fear and hatred, not only in the United States, but everywhere, the only thing you can do is to keep your sacred or inner heart open with love and laugh, laugh, laugh. It is your job â each and every one of you, no matter where you live, to break up the negativity surrounding the vast majority who are fearful and hateful. This is done through Love and Laughter. I, ALL ENERGY, cannot and will not tell you that all this will end by the
I am writing this from my winter home in Chacala, Nayarít, Mexico. The moon is full, hanging softly overhead in a warm tropical night sky. I can hear the ocean waves caressing the sandy beach, and mariachi music is playing in the distance. What could be more romantic?? In fact, this scenario is ...
Distance Work with Reiki After being attuned to the 2nd level, a Reiki student becomes a “Practitioner.” Being attuned is sort of like an initiation. The Reiki Master uses the breath and symbols drawn with the finger both in the air and also on the initiates head during the attunement. This attunement opens the student’s ability to be a channel for the energy of Reiki. Once attuned to the 2nd level of Reiki, a Practitioner is able to use three of the Reiki symbols which assi
Everything in life is a choice. No matter what the topic, choice is always there. Most of the time there are many choices about any particular topic that we encounter. The gift of life is understanding it's all about choice and being aware that our choice creates our experiences. At every ...
nDear Friends,nn It occurs to me that, just as the vitamins and minerals keep skin clear, cells alert, and body systems running smoothly, relationships need regular doses of hope, joy, love, compassion, courage, wisdom, faith - âspiritual nutrientsâ - to help keep them strong. nn For our bodies, we get vitamins from food, the sun, and supplements. How can we assure that our relationships are getting at least a minimum daily requirement of what they need to thrive? Healthy
Many of us are prone to hold on to our failures; as a result of our own tendency to do so, we inadvertently think that God also holds on to our failures and treats us accordingly. There is no doubt that, at times, we suffer in our current circumstances due to a prior failure. For example, ...
I would like to briefly present a very interesting experience with a client recently who came to me for a series of 5 sessions. Lara (not her real name) wanted to learn about EFT for herself and to help the students at her school where she was a first aid worker. She also had to deal with many ...
As we go through life handing the bumps and bruises that we all get a taste of, there’s a learning curve. Of course, the very way that we do handle that stuff determines how tough it’s going to get. Learn the lesson, it gets easier. Keep doing the same stuff, and the lesson continues until we do. Sometimes handling the rough stuff also leaves calluses; we harden up to protect ourselves from pain, disappointment, anger, and other people.
Doesn’t Stress Success seem like an oxymoron to you? It sure did to me, at first! Keeping up with modern life is often complicated by the very technological advances and other conveniences that are meant to streamline our day, often creating even more havoc than we had before. We have the ...
It is my belief that everyone should meditate. Now normally I would not say 'should', because that is akin to me imposing my beliefs on you. Not a good idea; however, in this instance, I don't see that as a selfish thing. Meditation is so good for everyone that I truly believe it should be a part of your every-day lifestyle.
The Power of Words It's time to realize that everything around us is a vibrating energy. Even our words hold a significant vibratory force. Yes, I said words. Your words are building blocks of which you construct your life and future. They set the cornerstones of our life, causing us to live within the confines of those very boundaries we've created with our own words. Situations, circumstances and conditions are all subject to change, but with the support of your words, you can help direct positive outcomes in your life. "By thy words thou shalt be justified,
Reiki is a spiritual training developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in 1922 after he came across the power of Reiki on a retreat in Mount Kurama. Mikao Usui gave birth to the Reiki revolution in Tokyo, leaving it to expand and circulate across the universe to improve and enhance the lives of communities globally by spiritual healing. There are 5 beliefs or theories in this practice called Gokai which are principles that are observed and conformed by most Reiki practitioners and de
I read somewhere that relationships are increasingly stressed during these “hard times” we are passing through. I am not surprised. With all the bad news in the media, and the fear it creates, most individuals are stressed. And maybe you have noticed, it is individuals who make up most relationships! In my writing, I mostly address the issues of romantic relationships, however, it is valuable to remember that every form of relationship is affected by the stresses of life—relationships in love, business, friends, parent/ child, child/parent, and strangers on the street.
The thing is . . . I love a mystery . . . not a mystery novel . . . the mystery. When I was a child I would play games delving into the darkness, submerging myself into places where a normal child of eight would be afraid. But not me, I feel safe there, I surrender to the darkness and allow ...
Have you gotten to the point in life yet where you understand the connection between “your story” and your life experiences? What I mean by your story is the constant telling of your life experiences. When you sit down for coffee with friends what do you talk about? What do you tell ...
The art of chakra healing has been used for centuries to balance important energy centers in our body called chakras. We can use a number of different tools such as stones or meditation during chakra balancing. The end result will be a physically healthier body and a happier, more peaceful you. According to practitioners, we all have seven primary chakras that correspond with vital areas of our bodies and emotional and spiritual aspects of our lives. They form a line from the
Probably the biggest challenge to those of us wanting to live conscious spiritual lives in these rapidly transforming times is the changing form and expectations of romantic courtship, relationship, and marriage. The traditional models are rapidly disappearing, and the foundation for new forms ...
If you hear a mysterious voice call implacably, you are being invited to the table of the God. However it is sad that not every one of us can hear or can have just a moment with the God who really cared for us the most. Everyone is nonetheless an ete al flame in the universe. As soon as we are conceived, we can be staying for ete ity. Man, in all creation, was created in his God’s image and has been bestowing upon all the chances and the graces that are made for us. We are s
People with religious tendencies are often profuse givers. Depending on your personality, the desire to give can be so compelling that it easily gets out of balance, causing feelings of resentment when receivers respond with a lack of gratitude. Many of us are easily moved with compassion for ...
Indulge me? Voicemail answers most phones in Fortune 500 companies today and even some Small Businesses. There are still those companies around who actually use oxygen-breathing human beings to answer calls ringing into their business. The people answering the phones ringing into a multi-billon ...
Finding bliss in your life requires you to understand the workings of the mind. We encounter stress and depression when we allow our thoughts to take hold of us. When we become liberated from the mind, we experience bliss. To become liberated, you must stop connecting thoughts. The true ...
You hear a lot these days about Life Purpose. I’ve written about it several times myself because it’s an interesting topic… and because I think that the term has been overused and some strange ideas have coagulated around it. Let’s Get (meta)physical… It’s not nitpicking to define the word “purpose” clearly here. In the broadest (at least for this universe) terms, mere existence is sufficient to define purpose. Something’s there, and so its purpose is to be there. Done and done.
Food for Thoughtr Mental Cleanser What Are You Feeding Your Mind? “a healthy outside starts from the inside.”rn-Robert Urich We all spend a lot of time and money on our physical bodies. Yet we so often take our mental health for granted, not really ever giving it a second thought unless something happens to push us there. However, in the same way that we pay so much attention to the kinds of foods we put into our bodies, it behooves us to do the same with what we are allowing into our conscious and unconscious minds.
Wow, she is gorgeous. Blond, comfortable, fun looking. And, driving a 69 Camaro! I love the paint job; a creamy yet rich yellow color, with a wide black strip across the top. Gotta be custom. Is it a Z28? WHAM. The gawker rear-ended the Camaro. The back window of the Camaro shattered and ...
For a long time, the life of a drug addict has been completely changed and centered around drugs. But when there is an opportunity for a new start, it is a must to take advantage of it and redo everything from scratch. Undoing the damage of drug addiction to the body and mind seems like a real challenge. Preparing to reenter the world might be terrifying as it is difficult to know what to expect. Some former addicts are experiencing difficult times when trying to restart thei
A part of every leader wants to believe that if you are good enough or work hard enough you can do anything. However most of us lead in the real world. Because we lead in the real world there is at least one very important thing no leader can do. You can't develop a person who doesn't want to be helped !
