This is a third in a series of articles in which I try to bring Astrology down to Earth by trying to capture the essence of each planet. The Sun an Ego planet which represents ‘the mind’ is part of the threefold personality where the Moon represents the emotional body, Satu the psychical and now we look at the Sun, the mental body.
Your North Node will always points the Way. When you’re feeling stuck or at a crossroads and need guidance or reassurance that you’re are on the right path, then your North Node can be a guide and a pointer to the right direction. Why the North Node?
Although I know from personal experience the benefits I have gained and will continue to receive from my Birth Chart, I really want to make it clear to others just how useful knowing about your energy pattern can be.
Jupiter is the fourth and last of the Tool Planets. In describing its essence you will be able to understand why in traditional astrology it was called the ‘Great Benefic’ planet. Jupiter the Planet of Vision
The Ego planets of Sun, Moon and Satu makeup the threefold personality, on which I have written articles. Astrological psychology refers to Mercury. Venus, Mars and Jupiter as tool planets because one or more of the Ego planets can use these energies to support their needs. In this article I will be looking at Mercury, its essence and what it symbolises in you, followed by examples of how each ego planet may employ this energy. This may give you an insight how you use your Mercury. Mentally,(Sun), emotionally, (Moon) or physically,(Saturn), and maybe all three!
Having written about the Ego and the Tool planets, I now move on to the ‘Outer’ planets. There are three of them, which have been aptly named ‘the Ambassadors of the Universe’. All the other planets can be seen by the naked eye, and this corresponds to our natural psychological drives that we use automatically. However,a telescope is needed to see the ‘outer’ planets,we need to develop deeper insight. This reflects our need to stretch and grow into the energies that these planets represent. They are part of our Solar system and we all have these higher qualities of potential within us.
Another article on the planets-taking a look at Venus, second of the tool planets. I will be describing what this planet represents in us and how we use it in life. Venus the Planet of Taste and Harmony
This is the second in a series of articles that I have written in my attempt to bring Astrology down to Earth by describing what each planet represents and the part it plays in your Natal Chart. A whole book could be written on each planet, which most of them have been, however, I am trying to convey the essence of each planet so that those who are interested in understanding their own Birth Chart can grasp the basic meaning and gain insight into each planet. Satu the Overview
Mars comes under the spotlight in this, the sixth article on the planet,in which I describe the essence of these energy bodies and how they operate in life. Mars is another Tool planet the male libido and the polar opposite to Venus, the female libido. Mars the Desire Nature in the Horoscope
Astrology is a fascinating subject to study because you are literally learning about yourself and your life. An interest in your Birth Chart gives you a powerful tool for further development. It can inspire you to read relevant books and attend workshops. All Information is referred back to your own chart where it begins to make sense. Your Birth Chart brings theory down to Earth in a practical sense as you begin to see how the planets operate in your life. Birth Chart Astrology can be Self- Indulgent
The Nodal axis is a very important part of your Birth Chart because it gives insights into your past and future. Although the North Node points to new growth, challenges and possibilities, the South Node can hold a lot of your natural talents and abilities. The South Node shows an imbalance because we have focused much on this area of life which is shown by the house placement. The sign gives information about our innate traits.
It is often when we are short of money, when another relationship has gone wrong or we lose our job, we are made to stop and think! It is problems and adversity that makes us stop and ask questions. It also makes us take stock, search further or look at developing something new or change track. Adversity is often the force that makes us expand, to develop further talents and abilities and puts us on our right path. It is Tough going through the Process
Neptune is the second of the outer planets. It raises us to different states of consciousness. You will need to open up your mind and senses if you want to understand the energy of Neptune.Despite being such a nebulous planet its subtle force is gentle and is also powerful in its own way. This higher state is one of understanding, empathy, compassion, forgiveness and most of all one of unconditional love. We associate Neptune with illusion, Idealism, aspiration, mystery, spirituality and a sense of oneness.
Bringing Birth Chart Astrology Down To Earth
In the past traditional astrologers looked at the Birth Chart as one’s fate. They judged planets and aspects as good and bad in black and white terms with descriptions like favorable, troublesome, benefic or malefic. If someone had a challenging aspect then they would predict hardship, alte atively having a harmonious aspect they would give a more positive outcome. This left no room for self-adjustment and development. New Approach to Astrology
Mutable energy with the Earth element gives us the sig Virgo. Virgo uses the Mutability to deal with life’s physical needs. Busy with the maintenance of life and the well being of the body. The Earth element gives structure and form to the Mutable quality; therefore it can go into detail, organize and search for information that helps in dealing with life and the understanding of it. The restless and searching aspects of Mutability could go into looking for different or better ways in doing things or searching for solutions.
The Yod or Projection Figure came into play when Jupiter in its retrograde motion went to 11 degrees of Gemini. Satu and Pluto were already in mutable reception and now also in sextile. This provides a harmonious relationship that allows structured transformation to happen. This aspect pattern will be with us until Jupiter moves out of orbs around April. The message behind this Finger of Fate
Being an astrologer for a number of years now,I have wrestled with this question of do we really have Free Will or is our fate all mapped out in our charts?
We are living in the Age of Aquarius where many are conce ed with the growth of the spirit of consciousness. The development of Soul awareness is one of the central themes of this age. Authentic astrology can make a profound contribution toward the growth in consciousness, to which in our many different ways, we are part of this human task and destiny. The Value OF Astrology Astrology can reveal what the individual needs to change or improve, along with what is positive and well developed.
Unlike the planets, the Nodes have no energy, but they are very important points in your Birth Chart. They show your past and point to your future. The Nodal points arise from the intersection of the Moon’s orbit with the plane of the ecliptic, that is, the path of the Sun and planets as they appear to revolve around the earth. The South Node can be likened to the Moon, that of our past and the unconscious. The North Node being more like the Sun, that is what we need to grow toward, greater conscious awareness.
