Thurrocks Largest Town - Grays
Thurrockâs largest town and unitary authority in Essex, Grays, also known as Grays Thurrock is a traditional Church of England parish located in the east of London and exactly on the north bank of the River Thames. Grays has gotten its current name from the descendent of the Normal knight Anchetil de Greve, Henry de Grai. Henry Grei was granted the manor of the Grays Thurrock back in 1195 by Richard I himself. The name Thurrock is said to have its origins in the Saxon name
