Perhaps you've seen the film, "The Secret" which features interviews with many success gurus sharing how they made it -- I saw the video and thought it was pretty good. In my experience; however, there are a few more factors for achieving the success you want. Having owned my dream airplane, achieving a 2nd degree black belt, building a multi-million dollar business and enjoying an amazing relationship myself... I've studied how to become successful, get what you want, etc., read books, participated in seminars (about 25 years worth!), as well as studied my own experience.
As my scheduled time for writing this Tip drew closer and closer, I noticed myself getting very busy. I needed to check my email. Clean out a file. Do a load of laundry. Water the plants. Trim the plants. Check my email again. I didn’t feel confident about my topic, and a small voice in my head was telling me to scrap the whole idea. ARGH! Lo and behold, I was living this week’s Tip.
What IS a core message anyway? You're told you need one (true). You're told without it your business will suffer (also true). You're pretty much given a mandate to get one. A core message, that is. But WHAT is it really?

Being an empath and entrepreneur presents a unique level of challenges. In today’s society the two terms together are almost considered an oxymoron. The messages echoed throughout the nation are about chasing success by any means necessary, stringent focus on getting your money, and separating your emotions from business. Well, these ideologies are in direct conflict with an empath’s essence. Empaths are the epitome of emotion. We feel everything, and I mean everything, very intensely. We absorb others energies -both positive and negative.
When you hear the word passion what image comes to mind - steamy romance, love, and candle lit dinners or hand holding? How do YOU define passion? When I think of passio I don’t think of the romance between two people. I think of the romance I have with my life. I wake up each day secure in knowing that I am living life on my terms; doing the things that I am passionate about – living life on my terms. Are you?

One element of this is a clear instruction on what you want your customer to do. In essence, a good Call to Action. Without knowing it, we are surrounded by Calls to Action. Think of some of the commercials you have seen or heard, or interactions you may have had at a shopping centre. You will have heard: “Call in the next 15 minutes and get a bonus ….” “Use EFTPOS when you next go shopping.” “American Express, don’t leave home without it.”r
Gratitude, what exactly is it? It is defined scholarly as being the state or feeling of appreciation for anything. On a more spiritual and philosophical side, some have explained it as being in the present and in peace, while having a deep appreciation for life in general. In nature, one may be grateful for the sun's warmth, the wind's soft touch, or the oceans rhythmic beat. In business we also have much to be grateful for. This includes not only the patients which come in and receive treatment, but also those that deny it as well.

In every arena of life, a leader is required. Leadership is best defined as the capacity to influence and inspire. As introverts know all too well, the holidays can be a challenging time of year. All the parties and gatherings that make this season so enjoyable for some people make it stressful for others, particularly for those of us who find large crowds exhausting, rather than energizing.
Decision-making is an age old problem. Eve took advice from a snake. Julius Ceasar took advice from a council of advisors even though they later stabbed him in the back. Kings, presidents and leaders of all types struggle with making good decisions. The 2004-2005 Teradata Report on Enterprise ...
Do you pay yourself or do you work for free? You may decide to work for free as you start a new business, spending time and energy without any compensation because the revenue is not there yet to support paying you a salary. This is an important consideration of the business, because it cannot go on indefinitely, and resolving when and how to start getting paid from a newly created venture can be more complicated than it may first appear.
The holiday season is upon you. This can be a challenging time if you are single. Invitations to parties are flooding your mailbox. Various television channels seem to devote their entire lineup with movies depicting Santa bringing single women their true love. Jewelry stores are airing commercials showing husbands buying wives big shiny objects. Food companies are playing mind games too by showing how much fun it is to bake cookies with children and create enormous feasts for family and friends.
Most business owners excel at pitching their goods or services to prospective clients, once. But, if that prospective client doesn't immediately shout a hearty YES from the rooftops, they walk away, head hung low, and the prospective client never hears from them again. Why? There is a never-ending list of excuses entrepreneurs play through their minds. Do any of these sound familiar? "If they wanted to work with me they would have said yes right then." "I don't want to pester anyone." "I don't want to be one of those pushy sales people."
Business owners are in the business to make a profit. As a business owner you must know how much it costs to produce your product or services. This cost includes your time, administrative costs, utilities, marketing and several other items. New business owners often forget to add the hidden time zappers into their fee or price structure. They are also often accosted by others who want them to lower their price or fee. Seasoned business owners may forget to add the cost of inflation into their fees or prices.
There are many advantages to becoming an entrepreneur. I asked accomplished entrepreneurs why they started their own business. They often reply that they saw a need, they had a vision, or they wanted to be their own boss to have more freedom in their life. Entrepreneurship is supposed to bring joy and fun for you and others while making a contribution in the world, right? Why, then do entrepreneurs often find themselves: • Trying to hold it all together at the expense of their time • Overwhelmed or overloadedr

Have you ever wondered why you perform better with some work activities and yet procrastinate on others? When your business is rapidly growing, it can be challenging to keep yourself and even your team consistently motivated. Generic organizing techniques might work for a while, but they are often ineffective in the long run.
For centuries, men have gone into business as an alte ative to working for others; they wouldn’t do that if they expected that running a business was really the grind it can sometimes seem these days. I firmly believe that business is not supposed to be as hard as we make it. So What Makes Business Hard? Experience has led me to believe there are three major factors that create difficulties for small businesses: lack of viability, lack of enjoyment and lack of focus.
One of the internal systems my Entrepreneurial Edge System Clients learn is to connect their online and offline strategies. After they attend a face-to-face networking event, they will go online and connect with people they have just met. It’s a great way to bridge offline networking and online connections. It also gives them a second touch point so they continue cultivating that relationship with someone they just met in person.

Does this sound familiar? You meet a prospect and play phone tag. Months later, you arrange a meeting, you give away valuable ideas and information during the introductory meeting and you wait. You go through this process over and over and over. Eventually, someone does business with you. If you’re lucky, about a year later, you’re actually working with that new client. The problem with this process is that you’re at a disadvantage for several reasons: 1. You are in pursuit mode. Unless the prospect has an immediate need, you are in a position of having to convince them.
A lot of times, itâs the boss the makes or breaks an employeeâs decision to leave or stay in the company. He or she is that link that connects the worker to the organization. A link thatâs weak or damaged can cause separation, prompting an employee to leave and seek better job opportunities and offers. Bosses can also nurture and help an employee to grow and reach his full potential, making him a valuable asset to the business. Here are 6 things that a great boss does:
The holidays offer many opportunities to have fun, see good friends and indulge. The holidays are also the best time to put on the unwanted pounds of winter insulation. As you RSVP for your next holiday party, keep these easy tips in mind and share them with your friends for a healthy and happy holiday.
I find my expectations around the taste and quality of wine vary depending on my surroundings or the location. Location can mean any number of places: countries, regions, large or small wineries, family-owned wineries, in a restaurant or at home. Some of my favorite and most memorable experiences are those visits to small family-owned wineries in the middle of nowhere in foreign countries. Not to say I don’t have a fondness from family-owned here in the United States.
1. Find your niche and audience…once you do dig deeper and really narrow in on a very specific group of people, a group that you are meant to serve, one that desperately needs your solution to their very specific problem. Find the problem. Offer the solution. 2. Create a brand for your speaking business. What do you want to be known for? Research your competitors and see how they’re positioning themselves…set yourself apart from them and be different, don’t be afraid to be the purple cow in the field. Be clear with your brand; do not confuse your audience.
