I love this message: rn” Success all starts in your head, and every person has the freedom to choose to be a success or not. Choose to succeed. See yourself as a successful person, and you will be a successful person.”

A old Schwarzenegger. Abraham Lincoln. John F. Kennedy. Martha Stewart. What do these names have in common? They have “IT”. They have that mysterious quality I like to call the "IT Factor". What's that, you ask, the "IT Factor"? The "IT Factor" is that elusive and singular quality of empathizing with people on a personal level. No matter how big any of these folks are or became, we can seem to relate to them - and they to us. They seem to, at the very least, have their finger

And these experiences constantly push us to think about life in new and more evolved ways. We are constantly learning. We are constantly studying. You are both the teacher and the student. The tea

Out of all the goals and objectives, most people really just want to feel happy and fulfilled; to feel good. And the question most people have is…how do I do that? A grasshopper's size is really tiny in comparison to a giant. If you see yourself as being limited and helpless, your belief creates your reality. Yes, you'll find that you'll not want to look for a solution because you think that you can't find a way out of your situation.

Some students are quite skilled at “triggering” teachers out of their peace and poise and into a state of insecurity. These bossy or defiant students effectively trigger the teacher’s insecurity by creating classroom disorder with impunity. An extreme example of this is the seventh grader who recentl

Do you have a challenging time with your schedule? Well, you're not alone! Nearly everyone I know and nearly everyone I've ever coached can relate to this in some way. This includes: feeling like there is too much to do, feeling like there is not enough to do, feeling overworked, overtired, not knowing how to fit everything in, not leaving enough time for important things, getting places late, and so on. Most people have at least one obstacle or challenge around how they use their time and manage their schedule.
Richard Bach said, “You are never given a dream without also being given the power to make it true.” Are you working on your dream, or feel too stuck to move? There are three keys for goal setting and getting. When something other than achievement or accomplishment is the result, one or more keys have not been used to unlock a particular “door.” KEY 1 Do you acknowledge you have a dream or goal? Some never get that far. Some have a dream or goal but never start toward it. Some start and stop. Which applies to you?
Your awareness will determine whether you’re “successful”. It took me about ten years of looking for the secret to success in processes like goal setting and time management before I realized that it was how I looked at and felt about my past experiences and current circumstances that was determining my level of success.
Does your life look the way you planned it? Most of us planned out in our minds from the time we were children on how we would like our life to look like, as we got older. We might've even mapped out a strategy of where we should be at a certain point in our lives. But unfortunately and fortunately life always hands us different obstacles and usually they're unforeseen. Woody Allen said it best "How do you make God laugh? Tell him your plans." Sometimes we think we've got life all figured out and then life hands us a curve ball, something that we have no control over.
4 ways to find contentment in caregiving On Wednesday of this week my 80-year-old mother told me she just didn't know what she would do without me. This was during our drive to the opthamologist where we spent two hours having tests done on her eyes. I agreed with her. On Thursday, she told her part-time caregiver that she wished I would stay out of her G__ D____ business.
Real leadership is about having the courage to inspire change and engage the heart of others to take action. Not just action for the sake of action; there also needs to be clarity of ‘why’ you are choosing a given course of action. What are you as a leader doing that is different than you did two years ago to be more effective? The environment has changed in two years. Have you course corrected? Or is your rational mind stuck in the past?
Innovation has become more respected as a concept within the scope of business. “Business as usual” is no longer supporting competitive advantage. We are now looking for ways to change the status quo. This is quite a change from the recent past—at least on the surface. We say we want innovation but our behavior does not align with this. The “way we think” changes very slowly, historically.
Who doesnât want to be successful? Everybody wants to achieve success, to reach that plateau of freedom and realization were you can say âI made itâ. But how many people have the âwhatever-it-takesâ attitude? And what exactly is a âwhatever-it-takesâ attitude? 1 Know your talents and your weaknessesrnA âwhatever-it-takesâ person knows he does not become a master at everything, he will concentrate on his talents and make strategic alliances with other people
Leadership and developing emotional intelligence is really personal growth and development. It is important to distinguish this. If leaders want to become more empathetic, engaging and inspiring, we must recognize that we need to change our self first. One reason why this feels so threatening and challenging is that society applies the connotation that personal growth means ‘fixing’ your self. This perception stops most people in their tracks when it comes to embracing personal growth and development.
Those ups and downs, trials and tribulations you are experiencing right now are supposed to enlighten you.... they are supposed to instill wisdom in you. Yet you won’t become wise merely by going through a lot, but rather by your willingness to be taught by those occurrences. You need to be teachable for experiences to teach you. Be receptive to the lessons from your mistakes and they will turn into enlightening experiences. Become reluctant to learn from your experiences and they will become nothing but mistakes.
We love storytelling; this love affair begins in childhood and we never outgrow it. Our brain is a "storytelling" organ, made perfectly for creating storyline. Life is not as objective as it appears on the surface. Via our perceptions of how we interpret the facts and experiences of our lives, we see the world through our own unique lens. We set the stage of our lives based on these perceptions. When we become more self-aware by learning how our brain operates optimally, we can start to direct our life story on purpose, with purpose. You see, we can change our 'story'.
Looking for answers to money challenges may have become a daily routine for you. Knowing your life purpose makes life more meaningful and fulfilling. It gives you the “why” to look forward to in your day, in your work, and in your life overall. Knowing your true values can point you in the direction of your purpose; they underpin meaning. Otherwise, you may find yourself in the nightmare of the “routine”: Wake up, go to work, come home, eat, take care of “stuff”, and go to sleep… repeat. How dull. How painful! Life is meant to be an adventure of growth and learning. It’s not about clinging to a mediocre life, and then you die. How sad.
Good morning my friends….. George (my husband) and I have been talking recently about moving some plants around. He said that this time of year is good for moving plants because they go dormant. I guess it is a kind of sleep for plants, trees, shrubs and bears. Some of our foliage has done so well where it has been planted that it is “out of control.” It is time to move out and replant for a new start. I began to think about this in regards to our own lives. We have all heard the expression, “Bloom where you have been planted.” Do we think about this much?
Who is to blame? One statement that always makes me laugh is when I hear someone say "You made me do it" or "You made me mad". DO you see anything comically wrong with these statements? Certainly when uttered as children those statements seem apropos. But I outgrew childhood in my childhood and realized that these statements simply state "I am powerless to control myself" (so I will blame you).
Let’s face it: most people probably think of forgiveness as the last resort of losers. It’s what you’re left with after you’ve been victimized and can’t figure out a way to inflict revenge. If there’s no way to even the score, then you might as well settle for feeling a little better about yourself by becoming noble. And if you forgive what happened to you, maybe someday you can forget all about it. Or, maybe whoever hurt you will eventually feel guilty about what they did,
When your life is over how will you be graded? Will you get an A or a B or will you get a C Average? Will your time on this earth be rated as average? None of us want to be average. Everyone has a past. Some parts of it may be wonderful and other parts may harbor painful memories. You have come to accept what has been. You realize that holding onto shame, blame or guilt will not allow peace with your past. Mistakes were learning experiences that can serve you in moving forward.
