Discussing the concept of energy with reference to the mind and body separately and at the interface between the two is fraught with difficulty: possibly more so than almost any other area of investigation, even including the vexed topic of the unconscious mind. This is because that while there is some agreement on energies that cannot be measured, paradoxically, there is little consensus regarding the nature of others which can: how they might best be measured and interpreted (in particular) and the effects that these different energies have on mind and body.
Your consciousness in the moment of decision is what always makes the difference with everything in your life, including the health of your body, the success of your business, and the quality of your relationships! This is true because Consciousness determines the quality of all your decisions, ...
Mahayogi Shri Aurobindo Ghosh has opined: Doubtlessly mankind, by unfolding the designing of stars/galaxies right up to unveiling various mysteries of science has achieved a great deal. Yet ere we possessed a machine via which we could understand manâs soul, it appears that in comparison to this important invention all attainments of modern material science are ordinary. Amongst the manifest and non manifest powers of humans one is a very important energy and that is his sp
When it's time for the holidays or a family reunion do you cringe at the thought, but go anyway? Your mom will find fault with your hair, your job or the way you are bringing up your kids. Your dad might pick a fight with you or boast about how much money your brother makes while you are barely getting by. You know that you will have a terrible time and perhaps eat too much or drink to dull the pain. When I ask clients to tell me who in their life has had the most negative effect on them that is still a problem, the majority replies either mom or dad.
The Victim Tyrant Cycler By Julie Roberts, Ph.D. This paper is about adults and not children. Children don’t have a choice when they are victims (they can’t leave their situation and if they do speak, often they aren’t heard). Adults have choice when they can see beyond the pattern that keeps them in a victim place.

Once, King Divodasâ son Pratardan wished to see heaven. Taking commands from his father Pratardan went to heaven. Indra was greatly impressed by Pratardanâs enterprise and war oriented skills. He respectfully welcomed Pratardan and said: How can I serve you? Pratardan replied: Lord! I have enough wealth, food, children, fame etc. What more can I ask from you? I do not want anything. Indra laughingly said: Child! I know a man of enterprise and hard work lacks nothing in th
Finding our connection with our higher consciousness will bring us towards enlightenment and at the same time give us the knowledge we need to bring balance to our civilization. When we are connected with our higher consciousness, we see much more clarity about everything, we feel fulfilled and we can also see what direction we should take with our lives. It is the experience we should seek to connect with as often as possible.
Once there was a great lioness who went hunting with her new born cub. It happened that while attacking and chasing a flock of sheep, the she-lion made a wrong move, fell of a cliff and died. The cub was left in the midst of the sheep and grew up with them. As the years passed, the cub became a ...

In a way manâs body is a mobile electric power house. On its basis infinite parts/organs attached to the factory called the body function and amazing computer like parts attached to the brain are controlled by it. The functioning of gigantic machines/technology is dependent on powerful engines and motors. Maybe the human body is not so gigantic yet itâs designing and functioning is complex and sensitive in an extraordinary manner. In order to control it continuously it is
When we are simply being we are in the flow. When I was in group therapy in the 80’s in the Toronto area,The flow of life on the Ganges River, Varanasi, India - the city of living & dying the facilitator told us about different stages of development, including ‘being’ and ‘doing’. She said most people were in doing mode almost exclusively. She taught us how to simply be. I know now that it is the nature of western society to be productive and to rush around…to be in the doin
How do we know when we have healthy fear versus unhealthy fear about the latest pandemic? Healthy fear stimulates our awareness and drives us to appropriate action. Unhealthy fear is not as effective because we are over stimulated. We are hypervigilant, stressed, and our body is tense, all of which makes us less capable of seeing reality clearly, and less able to respond appropriately. With unhealthy fear, we are responding from a place that was traumatized in the past. Let me explain. When something happens to us that is unpleasant, we resist feeling the emotions associated with this event.
I worked with a soldier, Jonathan, with a few years history of PTSD, with the classical symptoms of nightmares, flashbacks, emotional numbness, and dissociation from life. He had been in therapy twice a week with a psychologist in the last four years and was on a whole cocktail of medications. With all this his condition had not improved, and he had not functioned at work or socially.

A superficial glance tells us that man is a weak creature but from the electric standpoint man is a wondrous and incomparable creation of the Creator. Especially the brain is such a mind boggling center that in comparison to it all scientific technology unearthed by man to date seems pale. It has many magnetic centers that act like receivers and transformers. In the cosmos infinite types of mysterious flows are there within which man knows just about one of them. The more thi
Remaining Healthy, Happy and Positive during “Testing Times” From Robert Elias Najemy’s newly released DEALING WITH TESTING TIMES There are periods in the life of every person when certain events and situations demand greater inner strength, courage, faith, stamina, energy, understanding, optimism, inner security, and self-confidence. The following article involves a patient from my practice, and exemplifies the body-mind connection, our body’s self-healing abilities, and how insight into our coping style helps us tailor a treatment designed to nurture our nature to facilitate healing. It also highlights an attitude toward dis-ease that is ruled by mindfulness rather than fear, promoting curiosity and a willingness to change, rather than mere avoidance. Jane (for the sake of anonymity her name is fictitiou
From the book "Contemporary Parables" Most of us believe that we have only one body. Most esoteric philosophies, however, teach that we have five bodies. Some claim even more, but usually these extra bodies are sublevels of the five basic ones mentioned below and represented by the five ...
The holiday season is upon us. Do you greet it with trepidation? Festivities bring us together with family. Are you dreading that experience because you have to act as if everything is peachy when it isn't because you are really having an awful time and can't wait to find an excuse to leave? In psychology we call that pseudo-mutuality. Pseudo means false. In other words, the smile on your face is hiding your true feelings of unhappiness, anger or boredom.
Method No 8. Give to Others and Yourself Daily Give gifts from the heart regularly to those around you. Also give to yourself. Focus also on giving to others and yourself that which you seek to attract or create. Wish for others to be well and to also have what you are seeking to create. Earth gets life from the sun. With its light and heat all activities ensue on earth and many resources are unearthed. In comparison to other planets and satellites of the solar system it is our earth that is most influenced by the sun with reference to the atmosphere, plants and other beings. It is the very life bestowing force on our globe. By correlating the activities of daily living everyone can experience the amount of influence of its rising/setting, dawn and noon and t
Life is a Yajna. Life also has a priest, demi-god and other paraphernalia. Scriptural scholars have correlated all this. While giving a special description of Kundalini Yajna the Mundakopanishad says (2/1/9) : Great souls have emerged from it. The 7 flames of fire are emitted from it. These are the 7 Samidhas (wood of Yajna) and these are the 7 Havees (Yajna offerings). Its energy enters all the 7 Lokas (world) which were created by God for higher sacred purposes. For more sc
“A belief is just a thought that you keep thinking over and over again.”rn- Abraham-Hicks I was recently working with a client who has been struggling to build her business. She feels as though no matter what she does, she just can’t get a break. The economy collapsed. The person delivering her products took her money and ran. The assistant who was helping her turned out to be a nightmare. And so on.
Imagine that your body's capacity to cope is like a bucket. The bucket represents your strength, your immune system, and your resistance to the stresses of life. Each time you put yourself under stress, it fills the bucket a little bit. Perhaps you are having a difficult time working with a new boss, then you argue with your partner and children. After that you catch the flu, then there is a rumour about job cuts. Each thing contributes a bit more stress to the bucket.
Generally, society works against us discovering and being ourselves. We are taught to be what society and our parents want us to be. There is little faith in the brilliance and miracle of who we are. Instead, there is typically a fear that we are not enough and we have to push to be the best we can be to get what we want. We have to make ourselves into what we are supposed to be, and that is (we are told) not an easy road.
The imagination of Paras jewel (touchstone) is very ancient. It is believed that when Paras touches iron it gets converted to gold. No such material has yet been found. If this were not the case all the iron of the world till today would have been converted to gold. If this were to happen then the value of iron will become akin to the value of gold that is noted today. This then is merely a symbol. This imagination must have arisen when the darkness of light was compared to i
Many of us were raised to resist our feelings (don’t be angry, don’t cry, don’t be so wild, etc). We do most anything to not feel: we eat, do drugs, drink, exercise, work, text, play computer games, and in doing all of this doing, we fight reality. When we resist feeling, we block reality, and this leads to a pattern of fighting that distances us from a sense of peace and contentment and ability to be present in the here and now. We live according to the belief that I have to resist or fight in order get what I want and feel good.
What if you were told a power within you exists that can treat disease, reduce stress, regulate physiological functions, create psychological wellness, and much more? Would you use this power? Unfortunately, individuals do use this power – unconsciously. Often defined as “worry” the unconscious use of this power creates exactly what is “NOT” wanted. The self-fulfilling prophesy of doom. “I knew this was going to happen.”
We may not able to choose all the events and situations that occur in our lives, but we choose how we feel, react or respond to them. We can choose to accept. flow and benefit from them. We can resist, reject and become bitter. We can choose to forgive or not to forgive. We can choose to ...
Method No 5: Act now as You Imagine You Would Then Behave now as if your goals have already become manifest. Do now that which you imagine you would do if your ideal life was already a reality. Until now, we have learned to align ourselves with our ideal reality by: 1. Realizing how much we already have and feeling grateful. 2. Making a list of what we want to manifest. 3. Removing limiting beliefs. 4. Writing a description of our ideal reality.
If you are an experienced trader or investor you will know that mastery is a mind game. In fact, trading and investing are about understanding crowd psychology and your own psychology, because when you fully understand how you react to events deemed to be outside of your control you are taking ...
After an assault, the first priority is to help your mind release the pain, shock and trauma of the experience in order to move on. To do this, you have to coax your subconscious into unfreezing itself and allowing these changes to occur. The following healing exercise is one I have used many times with my clients with great success.
Coping with our intensely passionate emotions and desires can be like riding a wild horse, or being inundated by a turbulent river, overflowing its banks, producing havoc for us, and for others around us. We become driven by demanding, insatiable, energies, that have a counterproductive, disruptive, impact on our lives. As suggested by Rakesh Sethi1, rnâThe mind is like a river flowing, full of emotions, good and bad, thrusting every which way wildly, like raging water. The
The world in which we live is violent in large part due to how we raise our children. We assume that children are small and undeveloped and without the need for freedom and personal choice. However, we traumatize them by making demands, creating unnecessary limits, not listening to them and not considering their needs or desires. In response, children fight back, recoil in fear or both, internalizing that they are not enough.
We are all familiar with the concept of ying and yang, consciousness and unconsciousness, ebb and flow. In yoga, the asanas (postures) we strive to perfect with our bodies speak to our deep desire to perfect and unite our mind, body and spirit. And yet, often in spite of years of dedicated ...

Recently, I was talking with a client about her financial situation. The conversation went something like this: "I do so much of this spiritual stuff, and I'm happy all the time," she said. "Why am I not more financially abundant?" "Great question," I answered. "Why aren't you?" "I really don't know," she answered. I knew she was talking about the fact that she doesn't feel as though she has enough money. (This type of feeling is considered an inner conversation, a belief, or a vibrational place from which she is creating, by the way.)
During times of economic difficulty many people choose simpler pleasures that have the capacity to refresh our spirit and renew hope. Across the country movies are sold out, bars and restaurants are doing great business and more than ever we are getting back to the core values and activities that make us who we are as a culture. Stress relief usually begins with a distraction. Relieving stress is a very personal task. One must allow herself to be distracted occasionally for
If you are a compulsive overeater you may have mixed feelings about eating out in restaurants. Although you enjoy eating, perhaps you feel fearful about being tempted to consume certain foods you love that you believe are "bad" because they lead to binge eating. Your inner dialogue sounds like this: I love this food so much that I don't think I can eat just one portion. If I eat it I will continue to eat too much. If I do, I am bad so I might as well keep eating since I have already "blown it." Afterwards I will hate myself, and vow to never do it again.
Sometimes when we are little and things go wrong, we think we have to take charge and fix things. We feel it’s up to us to make it better. We think we have to be the big one and we’ll show the adults how to do it. Or we feel like no one else is seeing what a mess things are, or how unsafe things are, so we try to make it better.
If you’ve been dieting for weight-loss for some time and have found that the diet isn’t “working” – by whatever measure you care to apply – then the reason for this has to be to do with diet, or it has to do with how you are mentally and physiologically responding.
The other morning I got out of bed before my husband and, as I was brushing my teeth, I saw him get up and make the bed. Making the bed for my perfectionist husband means throwing the blankets willy-nilly back over the bed, period. What is wrong with this picture? Is that the way a perfectionist ...
The primary male sex hormone or androgen, Testosterone plays a critical role in male health and development, according to scientific research. It also plays a lesser role in female development. Maintaining an adequate level of testosterone through proper diet, exercise and weight management provides a wide variety of benefits for men. A significant increase in the production of testosterone in males triggers the onset of puberty, when the body begins to develop toward physica
Employers lose $200 billion a year due to stress-related ailments and 75-90 percent of employee visits to hospitals are stress-related, according to the National Institute of Health. What amazing statistics! Why we are not attacking stress with the same vigor with which we have attacked drug addiction or drunk driving, I know not. After all, stress is one of the core factors that leads to dangerous behaviors in adults. Most American adults are operating past their stress thre
