Christmas time is a wonderful time of year with shopping, parties, cantatas, children’s programs, numerous Christmas parties, families and much, much more. We love this time of year, and yet some of us loathe this time of year. If we took the time to ponder the reason why people loathe it, then we would find that the answer would probably be the same as most everyone else. That answer is: “I’m way too busy, and there isn’t enough time.” Take a breather, and think about the season in a new way.
Do you find yourself stress eating, comfort eating or even boredom eating during your workday? That's emotional eating. Emotional eating is the eating that happens when you're procrastinating tackling a difficult project, struggling with writer's block, or avoiding a difficult conversation. Emotional eating also happens when we're trying to transform our feelings-like munching mindlessly in the late afte oon in an attempt to perk up or re-motivate. Emotional eating is a major cause of weight gain, weight loss difficulties, and weight re-gain after weight loss.
Sacrifice? What are you sacrificing? Sure, it’s a crazy world out there and we are living in times where stress and anxiety are common health issues. But here’s the question that can start to change your life. What are you sacrificing and why? Time: Are you stretched to the absolute max in managing more than one job to have the bills paid, or to gain more experience, or to save up for something important? Are you spending too much time at one job because there’s a shortage
When we talk about a very "sensitive" film we talk about a film that can take pictures under conditions where normal films "see" only black. When we talk about a "sensitive" radio receiver we talk about a special machine that can receive signal where other ordinary receivers don't. When we talk about a "highly sensitive" person we talk about someone whose brain, nervous system and senses work differently and much more precisely than other peoples'.
As the number of obese people in the World continues to grow, we need to start to deal with the obesity problem effectively. I’ve been thinking about writing for a while now, however, it wasn’t until I discovered a true purpose for my writing, that I was able to really take action in bringing these words to you. I have always known deep down, that when I speak from the heart, the words seem to flow ...
By the time I was 48 I weighed in at 240 lbs, double my marriage weight 30 years prior. At 42 my body age was predicted to be 67 through a true body age test at my workplace. The news was devastating but I knew I felt about 67 already so it wasn't a surprise. Recently diagnosed with Type 2 ...
Imagine clothing racks where all the items are stuffed on hangers and shoved onto the racks in no particular order. Crumpled shiny shirts like the ones John Travolta wore in Saturday Night Fever, co-mingling with pairs of brightly colored spandex leggings circa 1980. In between the disarray of out-of-date, out-of-style garments a lone little black dress, pristine in appearance, hangs in waiting, hoping to be seen in and amongst the mismatched, discounted goods.
Change can be stressful. Even good transitions can cause emotional upheaval because we are creatures of habit. But there are steps you can take to navigate your life transitions with grace and ease. * Use a coach. Getting assistance does not mean you are unable to manage. Many people flourish with the structure and guidance coaches offer their clients. * Remember that change affects everything. Your life is a whole system so there is no way to make even small changes and not
I recently heard a presentation by Jim Carroll, a Canadian futurist, made to a group of business people from the technology sector. He affirmed what we all know – that things are evolving at a rapid pace. For example: The volume of knowledge is doubling every 8 years. A person taking a science degree will find that within their first year of work about half of what they learned will be obsolete. In about 20 years, 65% of children who are now of pre-school age will will work in jobs that have not even been invented yet! What does this mean for every one of us?
A Google search on the word motivation gives 33,20,00,000 results! "Motivation – A word for your inner self searched in the outer world." We want someone to plant motivation in us. Many of us are simply seeking motivation. We have often said… “Once I am motivated, I will do it” “The problem is not in doing it, but I don’t feel motivated enough.”We want motivation in everything we do – work, exercise, cook, business, the list is endless. We want to feel motivated every single day and yet motivation seems to slip from us.
It's one thing to accept your circumstances. It's another to accept other people as they are. For some creative people -- and perfectionists in particular -- self-acceptance is challenging indeed.
As a single mom, it's a big step to date, no matter how old your kids are. You put yourself out there wanting to find love and hoping to find quality men. Talk about having faith. Well, I do. I have faith that it will happen. It might not happen when I want it to, but I KNOW it will when it's supposed to. Doing online dating and then emailing a few guys is one thing. Putting yourself out there in a lot bigger way is another. This newest adventure is Finding Love Before 40, which gives me about nine months. I need to get on the ball, since I really have never been in love.
When you're a mom, sometimes you can't get anything done. Well, you can't get things done the way YOU want them done. As I sit my eight-month-old son down in the living room surrounded by his security gates, that rarely do as they're intended, I'm ready to work. Yet, he has something else in mind. As we know, our young kids can be such great helpers. So here is what Blaise wants you to hear from him (and then I'll finish writing).-r

"Time is limited, so I better wake up every morning fresh and know that I have just one chance to live this particular day right, and to string my days together into a life of action, and purpose."? Lance Armstrong, 7-time winner of the Tour de France Living Your World Class Life Last month Vancouver hosted the winter olympics. People the world over watched as the athletes competed and national pride was on the line. We witnessed inspiring feats of athleticism and victory, heroic acts of determination and courage and instances of heartbreak and disappointment.
The Cost of Being Right One of the highest prices we pay in life is the cost of being right. Some of us will sacrifice almost anything just in order to be the last one standing. A person who had been surrounded by their peers now sits alone, safe in the knowledge that he or she is right in their viewpoint even though they have alienated everyone around them. The ego is a mighty powerful entity left unchecked. Have you ever attempted to reason with a child who knows everything? It’s their way or no way at all.

I went to my niece's first birthday party on Saturday. I was looking so forward to it. I can't believe it's already been a year for them. I remember getting the call that my sister-in-law was in labor, driving up to the hospital, and being in the waiting room... EAGER. Eager to make sure they were okay. Eager to know if it was a boy or a girl. And definitely EAGER to find out the baby's name... Elise.
Going through a divorce is a very challenging time in a person’s life. It is hard to adjust to being single again, as well as living “out of the habit” of being married, especially if you have been married for many, many years. Eventually, you begin to think about dating, but it is suggested ...
Do you know what one of the most effective list building tools might be? Your email signature line. The area where you can add your name and other details below email messages is valuable marketing real estate that you can use to create awareness about your business and attract potential clients.
On certain days, you know what today holds…school, work, pick your kids from school, making dinner, doing homework, and then getting to sleep later than you expected. As a single mom on other days you wake up and you pull yourself out of bed, knowing it's going to be that kind of day…a crazy, chaotic day. You wake up in plenty of time to get ready, yet you find yourself leaving late…again. You're stressed driving your kids to school. You're moody and cranky. It's going to be a day alright.

I love sleep. Before having my son, I would sleep ten hours a night... and even sometimes take a nap. I love sleep.
Do you ever have those days or even though moments where you find yourself saying, "Only another single mom would understand?" Whether it's your baby rolling over for the first time, your child going off to kindergarten, or your teenager dating, there are just some things that only another mom will understand. When I was single and childless, I thought I understood. I thought I got it. When my friends with kids would say they were busy, I always thought, Really? Aren't we all busy? When they would say they were tired, I thought, Yeah, so am I.
Relationship 202 There are a million books out there on relationships – every conceivable kind of relationship. Many were probably written by authors about what they think should work. Some books are written by professionals based on the stories from their clients. Fewer still, like Dr John Gottman’s Love Lab, are based on scientific research. On top of that, everyone has an opinion on what you should do to fix your relationship problems. So what do you do and where do you turn?r

Are You Waking Up to Tiredness? nnnTo achieve the impossible dream, try going to sleep. - Joan KlempnernnnA lack of zzzâs can zombie-fy us! There is no substitute for sleep. Like healthy eating and exercise, sleep is an essential part of our total well-being. To quote Thomas Dekker (1572-1632) - âSleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.â In the 24/7 society, where we are open all hours, chronic sleep deprivation can steal our sanity in the wak
Over 40% of employees in the workplace have experienced bullying, a persistent pattern of behavior that intimidates, degrades or otherwise undermines the wellbeing of the target. Bullying is four times more prevalent than sexual abuse, and, according to a study at the University of Manitoba, the outcomes for victims of bullying are worse than are those for sexual abuse victims. So who are the bullies? And who are the targets? It’s easy to envision a quiet, introverted person as the victim of an outgoing, brash person. But it’s not that simple.
Prevent Self Employment Burnout with Self Love Self employment usually begins as an act of self love. Didn’t you choose to create your own business in order to do what you love doing, express your talents and gifts, set your own hours, be creative, reach your financial goals, and enjoy life more?
I didn't date a lot when I was younger. I always used to say it was because I enjoyed hanging out with my friends (which I did), but really it was more about never getting asked out. Everyone wants to be liked. Everyone wants to be asked out. College I dated more, well hung out with guys, because in college no one has money to really go out and do much. Since college, my dating life has been sporadic--a few here and there but never finding "the one."
Without Fear or Favor There is an old joke about a man who went to India and spent allnday, every day swinging a live tiger by the tail around andnaround in a circle above his head. When a passer-by asked him what he was doing, he said "I'mnkeeping away the lions." This confused the ...

Our life is our work of art. When we work on something we're really passionate about and we love what we do, we will certainly succeed. Let's consider the lives of saints, artists, musicians, writers, famous architects, athletes, entrepreneurs and all successful people in this world. The common denominator is this: they have this fire inside of them, their work is their life, they do it for the pleasure, not for the money. A few years ago I was having dinner with this famous
I left the house yesterday in time for a meeting. I was so proud of myself that I had managed to leave in time, with my son in tow. I reversed out of the driveway and made it as far as the mailbox, when I realized I had a flat tire. Not just a flattening tire. I'm talking a completely flat-don't-bother-trying-to-go-anywhere flat tire. Lucky for me, my mom lets me borrow her car. The problem is I don't have the phone number of the lady I am meeting. So I have no way to tell her I will be late. All I can do is hope she is still going to be there when I finally arrive (which she is).
Motherhood is filled with ups and downs, triumphs and defeats and it is sometimes a tireless job. Mothers don’t get sick days, or vacation days and some days you don’t even get the chance to brush your teeth by yourself. Being a single mom, you face a lot of things by yourself whether it is mowing the grass, running your kids places or even who you are going to call when something breaks can be a challenge to a frustrated single mom.
No matter how big our dreams, our time and resources are limited. Moving forward effectively is key. Once you've committed to accomplishing something and putting in the effort, you'll want to get the biggest return on your investment that you can, in the most efficient way. Here are ten of my best tips for increasing your effectiveness and achieving your goals–whatever they may be. 1.Be clear on your final outcome This may sound obvious, but it's surprisingly easy to skip this step. Be as clear as you can about what it is that you are working to accomplish.

A thought leader is often someone within a specific industry that’s known for having innovative ideas and solutions. These leaders are considered as experts in their field of specialisation and would often have their opinions sought by others in the same industry.
What is the first thing you do when you realize you’ve made a mistake or let yourself down? You know what I’m talking about. Maybe you said you would be somewhere for someone, and then you forgot. Or, you want to lose weight, but you couldn’t resist that piece of chocolate cake last night. Or, you are trying to reconcile a relationship, but the last time you got together you said something you regretted. We’ve all been there.
It is true for all of us, there are times when S..T happens. It is how we respond to it that counts. I love to play golf. The golf course is such a window on life and an insight into the people who play the game. Spend four hours plus with a seemingly intelligent and balanced human being, let them put on a "Tiger Woods Casual" outfit (Tiger wears shorts when not playing tour events), put them in a beautiful setting and arm them with a club(s), little stationary ball and an objective to get the club(s) to direct the ball into a 4 inch hole with the least swings possible! WOW!
The topic of introversion has now entered the mainstream. How can I tell? This topic, which I have championed for so many years (full disclosure: I am an introvert), has now appeared in one of my favorite comic strips, and I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Kabari walla I was visiting my home country( India) and having arrived at the godly hour of 4 am was just about drifting into slumber land when suddenly I hear the shrill ear piercing shout, “ kabari walla- kabari walla, raddi paper, plastic, bottle …..kabari walla” ( Kabari wala’s are scrap ...
