Do you ever have those days or even though moments where you find yourself saying, "Only another single mom would understand?" Whether it's your baby rolling over for the first time, your child going off to kindergarten, or your teenager dating, there are just some things that only another mom will understand. When I was single and childless, I thought I understood. I thought I got it. When my friends with kids would say they were busy, I always thought, Really? Aren't we all busy? When they would say they were tired, I thought, Yeah, so am I.
Relationship 202 There are a million books out there on relationships – every conceivable kind of relationship. Many were probably written by authors about what they think should work. Some books are written by professionals based on the stories from their clients. Fewer still, like Dr John Gottman’s Love Lab, are based on scientific research. On top of that, everyone has an opinion on what you should do to fix your relationship problems. So what do you do and where do you turn?r

Are You Waking Up to Tiredness? nnnTo achieve the impossible dream, try going to sleep. - Joan KlempnernnnA lack of zzzâs can zombie-fy us! There is no substitute for sleep. Like healthy eating and exercise, sleep is an essential part of our total well-being. To quote Thomas Dekker (1572-1632) - âSleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.â In the 24/7 society, where we are open all hours, chronic sleep deprivation can steal our sanity in the wak
Over 40% of employees in the workplace have experienced bullying, a persistent pattern of behavior that intimidates, degrades or otherwise undermines the wellbeing of the target. Bullying is four times more prevalent than sexual abuse, and, according to a study at the University of Manitoba, the outcomes for victims of bullying are worse than are those for sexual abuse victims. So who are the bullies? And who are the targets? It’s easy to envision a quiet, introverted person as the victim of an outgoing, brash person. But it’s not that simple.
Prevent Self Employment Burnout with Self Love Self employment usually begins as an act of self love. Didn’t you choose to create your own business in order to do what you love doing, express your talents and gifts, set your own hours, be creative, reach your financial goals, and enjoy life more?
I didn't date a lot when I was younger. I always used to say it was because I enjoyed hanging out with my friends (which I did), but really it was more about never getting asked out. Everyone wants to be liked. Everyone wants to be asked out. College I dated more, well hung out with guys, because in college no one has money to really go out and do much. Since college, my dating life has been sporadic--a few here and there but never finding "the one."
Without Fear or Favor There is an old joke about a man who went to India and spent allnday, every day swinging a live tiger by the tail around andnaround in a circle above his head. When a passer-by asked him what he was doing, he said "I'mnkeeping away the lions." This confused the ...
Whenever you are looking to make a career change it is really important to address your finances. Many people can be rather ostrich-like about this, but if you analyse your situation at the beginning then it will certainly smooth your way later. The first step you can address is budgets. ...
Our life is our work of art. When we work on something we're really passionate about and we love what we do, we will certainly succeed. Let's consider the lives of saints, artists, musicians, writers, famous architects, athletes, entrepreneurs and all successful people in this world. The common denominator is this: they have this fire inside of them, their work is their life, they do it for the pleasure, not for the money. A few years ago I was having dinner with this famous
I left the house yesterday in time for a meeting. I was so proud of myself that I had managed to leave in time, with my son in tow. I reversed out of the driveway and made it as far as the mailbox, when I realized I had a flat tire. Not just a flattening tire. I'm talking a completely flat-don't-bother-trying-to-go-anywhere flat tire. Lucky for me, my mom lets me borrow her car. The problem is I don't have the phone number of the lady I am meeting. So I have no way to tell her I will be late. All I can do is hope she is still going to be there when I finally arrive (which she is).
Motherhood is filled with ups and downs, triumphs and defeats and it is sometimes a tireless job. Mothers don’t get sick days, or vacation days and some days you don’t even get the chance to brush your teeth by yourself. Being a single mom, you face a lot of things by yourself whether it is mowing the grass, running your kids places or even who you are going to call when something breaks can be a challenge to a frustrated single mom.

A thought leader is often someone within a specific industry that’s known for having innovative ideas and solutions. These leaders are considered as experts in their field of specialisation and would often have their opinions sought by others in the same industry.
What is the first thing you do when you realize you’ve made a mistake or let yourself down? You know what I’m talking about. Maybe you said you would be somewhere for someone, and then you forgot. Or, you want to lose weight, but you couldn’t resist that piece of chocolate cake last night. Or, you are trying to reconcile a relationship, but the last time you got together you said something you regretted. We’ve all been there.
It is true for all of us, there are times when S..T happens. It is how we respond to it that counts. I love to play golf. The golf course is such a window on life and an insight into the people who play the game. Spend four hours plus with a seemingly intelligent and balanced human being, let them put on a "Tiger Woods Casual" outfit (Tiger wears shorts when not playing tour events), put them in a beautiful setting and arm them with a club(s), little stationary ball and an objective to get the club(s) to direct the ball into a 4 inch hole with the least swings possible! WOW!
The topic of introversion has now entered the mainstream. How can I tell? This topic, which I have championed for so many years (full disclosure: I am an introvert), has now appeared in one of my favorite comic strips, and I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Kabari walla I was visiting my home country( India) and having arrived at the godly hour of 4 am was just about drifting into slumber land when suddenly I hear the shrill ear piercing shout, “ kabari walla- kabari walla, raddi paper, plastic, bottle …..kabari walla” ( Kabari wala’s are scrap ...
There is some degree of confusion today as to what a life coach does. This month I will be sharing with you what a life coach actually does and how everyone can benefit from hiring a life coach. I thought the best way to go about it would be to tackle the 5 most common reactions that we life coaches get, when we tell someone that “I am a Life Coach”. Let us begin > “Oh you are a Life Coach? – What a nice profession – simply give “Gyaan” to others and get paid for it!” – This a typical response which 8/10 life coaches get. Sad but true!
In today’s society, we tend to be jack-of-all-trades. Gone are the days where the man of the house worked while the woman tended to the children and the household. While this may still be the case in a few households, it is not typically the norm anymore. Having a career is usually necessary in today’s economy. However, if people are not happy at home, they will generally not thrive in the workplace. Since problems at home can affect a person’s attitude at work, maintaining a happy home environment is crucial to success at work.
I have come to see over the years of supporting people create the life they want that one of the biggest obstacles to changing your life can be your thoughts. As soon as you decide on a change up surge all the limiting thoughts beliefs and decisions you have made about yourself, the world, the employment market, anything to do with your career, your relationships, what you can and can’t do, any limitation you can come up with. A while ago one client I had said the most powerful thing she had learnt through coaching was not to believe her thoughts!
I’m a bit philosophical today. Last week I was driving my caravan and a young and inexperienced driver decided to turn in front of me, literally. There was no where to go. I surrendered the wheel and allowed the incident to happen without me trying to stop it. Both air bags deployed(that ...
It’s Tuesday night. I’m in the midst of designing a website and here’s the conversatio I have with myself: “Ooh, it’s late. In a few hours it’ll be Wednesday. I have three meetings and a proposal due. Thursday is my class day so I’ll study for 4 hours and 3 hours on a conference call. Oh my gosh this week is already over!”
As a business owner you’ve probably heard about three criteria people use when deciding to do business with you. Consciously, or subconsciously, people do business with people they know, like, and trust. Of course you must deliver a quality product or service but that’s not enough. Options ...
This year is going to be dreadful you know. There will be a recession, bird flu will finally hit North America and Europe, the housing market will slump even further, homicide rates will rise by record amounts and Jack Bauer will get killed in the 17th hour of 24 leaving the last 7 hours ...
Are you: * eating when you aren’t really hungry? * struggling with stress or “nervous” eating? * circling the kitchen because you can’t find “the thing” that will satisfy you? * eating when you are bored, tired, frustrated, or procrastinating doing something else? * hungry all the time–no matter what or how much you eat?
One thing that you must remember when doing lead generation work is the fact that it is tough to generate qualified B2B sales leads . Given the way the market works today, you will understand that convincing prospect to buy from you or sign up for your service has just become a little more difficult. Now, it does not mean to be a sign of failure. Rather, this can be seen as an opportunity to do better. Yes, you can still turn prospects into real and profitable sales leads. Wh
Millions of employed individuals work at desk jobs that require them to sit almost the entire day while using their computers. While this kind of job seems really easy and not physically demanding, there are several ways it can also jeopardize the health of workers. If you want to stay healthy with your desk job, here are the things you should do: 1. Pay Attention to Proper Sight Lines
As a business owner your time is precious. You probably have multiple requests from people that are pulling you in many directions. But, if you say yes to every invitation that comes your way, you will not have time for the activities that are critical to growing your business. What I ...
For many people, much of life consists of trying to keep a balance, as though they are fighting to keep on their feet amidst a vast crowd of people who are pushing and shoving them around. It seems that life demands we become professional jugglers. We want to do our jobs well, to bring up our children well. To romance our loved ones, to spend time with friends, time with our family and time with ourselves. In this complicated world that we have created, we also want to take care of our homes, our cars, our bodies, our heads, our hearts, our souls.
Here’s a fascinating take on divorce that I find more true than not: We choose our spouses, usually subconsciously, as a means to healing old emotional wounds we have been carrying around our entire life. Our divorce then becomes the wakeup call to clean up that mental baggage we have been lugging around once and for all which in turn allows us to become the person we were always meant to be! That theory would go a long way to answering the questions we often ask ourselves: How is it I married my Father/Mother? Why do I over-react to certain things my ex did or said?
"There's a difference between wishing for a thing and being ready to receive it. No one's ready for a thing until they believe that they can acquire it.
Are we born with the gift of joy or is it something we learn throughout our lives? If we are born with joy as children, do we start to lose it over time if it’s not practiced?
Conscious Living: The Key to Positive and Lasting Change Conscious: aware of one’s own existence, sensations, thoughts and surroundings; aware of what one is doing. Unconscious : without awareness or cognition; occurring below the level of conscious thought; not consciously planned, realized or done; the unconscious: the part of the mind containing psychic material that is only rarely accessible awareness but has a pronounced effect upon behavior. When we are living our lives in a state of true awareness wherein we are truly conscious of our actions, we can free ourselves from
Are you struggling to get things done? Have you constantly been feeling exhausted or stressed during the day? Has anyone told you that you’ve dropped the ball recently? We all know the feeling of overwhelm, having too many things to deal with. This feeling can have a large impact on completing a project to the best of your ability or even finishing at all. Overwhelm can lead to stress, anxiety, and burn out! How you handle moments when the clock is ticking and things are not going as planned, can affect your productivity, mental health, and physical wellbeing.
Life coaching is not really a new concept — people know that coaches are out there to help others realize their dreams, start and build businesses, lose weight, or whatever it may be. Most coaches work via the telephone or even in person (sort of like a therapist). But how does an online ...

Most natural and organic shoppers are aware that there are toxic synthetic chemicals in conventional products. That's why we pay the extra money and often go out of our way to shop at natural food stores. But, what if you can't trust that the "greener" products are truly safer and healthier? A ...
Change often comes whether you want it, pursue it, or ask for it. Major events can seem like pivotal moments in your growth and development. It’s natural to feel some disillusionment and wonder, ‘Where do I go from here?’ Change can simply be defined as a difference between two things. A transition or shift, as a result of change, can be a time period of exploration where you set yourself up for the next chapter of your life. What has been your experience with the transitions in your life up until now? Have you avoided them or embraced them with open arms?
One popular definition of life coaching is that it is a method or practice of helping people to achieve goals. At the time of writing this is the kind of definition which appears in the internet encyclopedia Wilkipedia. There are aspects of this definition which is helpful – for example, it draws attention to the following features of life coaching: * Coaching is a forward thinking pragmatic approach as opposed to some forms of counselling which are more conce ed with looking back into your past
Do you ever feel like you are leading a double life? When you are “out there” in public, networking, at work, with clients or just socializing with friends, you are one woman. Then when you are alone, behind closed doors, looking in the mirror or hiding under the covers, you are someone completely different? I was talking to a close friend just yesterday and she said as soon as the elevator doors opened up to her floor at work, she puts on her “happy face” and leaves all her troubles on the elevator behind her.
It has been quite the week for me and my family. As most of you remember, last time I sent a tip to you I was preparing for our move, as well as emotionally preparing to send my son off to week long summer camp for the first time. I appreciate all of your kind emails wishing me good luck and positive energy. The day I took my son to camp I felt a sadness and pit in my stomach that I had not felt in quite some time. I was in a funk for a couple of days, but luckily my beautiful and happy daughter lifted my spirits.
