One of the things that can be drummed out us as we age is our ability to dream. When we were younger they came so easily. Somewhere along the way this ability, those delicious ever changing desires, ambitions and dreams become so deeply buried we seem to be unable to find them. Where did they go? They are buried somewhere beneath a huge pile of that’s not the way it’s done, it won’t work, you’ll get hurt, you’ll be a failure, you’ll starve and I told you so until finally you simply stopped dreaming and became sensible.

Laugh at Yourself: Parents often ask me what a good coping strategy is to help them and their children get through challenging moments. As simple as it may seem, the use of humor and the ability to laugh at ourselves rank high. Laughing at ourselves is very different from poking fun at ...

Did you know that we each have within us four powerful allies that can help us heal and transform our lives? They are the four archetypes that exist in every culture in the world: The Lover, Magician, Warrior, and King/Queen. When I learned about these four archetypes it helped me delineate and put a name to these old friends who have been helping me traverse my 3-year cancer journey, and life in general. Iâm going to Las Vegas soon for several days with my husband Tom for
Because of fear, we are limited in our thinking and therefore limited in our experiences. Take the limits off your mind and free yourself. If you ever allow yourself to feel all the desires of your heart without the inhibition of fear or limiting beliefs, you'll find that your imagination can carry you to the far end of the globe and go places beyond your current location. Did you know that whatever you imagine you can experience? Nothing is too big for you to experience. If you can imagine it, it is already in existence in the unseen world.
The pursuit of happiness always starts with a dream and a decision doesn’t it? Making that decision is a process and likely one that doesn’t come ove ight. Once a seed is planted it needs to germinate before it gets to the point of blossoming into an actual decision for most of us. For me, it started with a feeling of something missing, boredom with the status quo, a sense of longing for something new and ultimately the news that my daughter and granddaughter would be moving to Califo ia in the near future; the seed.
There is a great deal of talk and sound evidence that boomer women today have exciting new opportunities available to us as we approach the remaining chapters of our lives. Many of us whether by circumstance or design are coming to realize how precious this time is and are eager to embrace these new possibilities. We are coming to see this special time as an opportunity to take stock of what has occurred, what no longer serves us and what we want to grow for ourselves in the future. It all sounds so easy doesn’t it?
What do you believe confidence is? Maybe you’re right, and maybe you’ll be surprised.
You’ve probably heard the phrase what the world needs now is love – it’s even a song title – and I feel sure you’ll agree with me that the world would be so very different if it operated through love rather than fear. But think about this. The word love is a noun, but isn’t love meant to be more about action? By changing the word from love to loving, it becomes an action word, commonly known as a verb.
You're blocked, stuck in your creative expression and flow, and it doesn't feel good. You hate being in this emotional state. In your despair you give attention, energy and focus to your block thereby strengthening the very block you wish to overcome. And you feel worse. You are literally and figuratively chocked in either your despair or anger over not being able to create what you are here to express, what is your purpose in life. "Every artist writes his own autobiography." Havelock Ellis May I suggest you stop blocking and literally chocking your own creative expression?
There are what seems to be an infinite number of books that provide a formula for success. They will tell you to work hard, pay your dues, earn advanced degrees in your education. The Inner Wizard formula for success, however, is a bit contrary to many of those strategies and quite simple. There are 3 Essential Empowering Factors in the Inner Wizard Formula for Success: • Authenticity: Who You Really Are & What You Want to Achieve • Confidence: Self-esteem and Intuition • Alignment: Mindfully Speak & Act in the Direction of your Highest Goals

No one would argue that our world is in turmoil. Just pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV for a few minutes and you’ll be blasted with revolutions, violence, military action, earthquakes, tornados, flooding, tsunamis occurring all over the world. Devastation is widespread and according to astrologers, it will continue through 2012. Many civilizations are seeking democracy, which is forcing them into revolution to fight in order to obtain it. Why is so much happening at the same time?

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about this concept of unconditional love for both ourselves and others. Defined by many as âaffection without limitations or love without conditions,â I sometimes question whether unconditional love in its purest form is attainable and sustainable. When it comes to unconditional love for others, many say that although there may be times when they donât like or are upset with the people they love, underneath whatever might be going on i
Article Two: The Quantum Ghost Universe Continuing the series of articles on Quantum Mind and Soul Evolutionr Dirac's Quantum Ghost Particles Quantum Mind and soul Evolution is about personal development and success through evolving one’s mind and soul, so ensuring oneself as amongst the fittest to survive. However this ‘survival’ means rather more than it meant in the Darwinian Theory. The majority of people knowing little of this and caring less do nothing to consciously evolve themselves, which results in lives of chaos, poverty and disease.

I was sitting at my table enjoying the pile of fruit on my plate at an early morning breakfast meeting when all of a sudde I recognized a Wizard before me. I was there to listen to guest speaker, Krista Vernoff, Emmy-nominated, Golden Globe-winning head writer and executive producer of the television show “Grey’s Anatomy” talk about her road to success.
During a sessio I was having with my new coach last week it became clear to me that I’ve been addicted to struggle for much of my life. While I wasn’t super excited to admit this, it has actually been quite liberating to address my struggle addiction directly and to see how it impacts just about every aspect of my life and work. How about you… are you addicted to (or at least very familiar with) struggling in your own life?
Self-sabotage is not about lack of willpower; so, you can stop beating yourself up about that one. What it is about may surprise you… and empower you. Self-sabotage happens when you confront the need to move out of your comfort zone to improve your life experience or make a dream or goal happen. This is one reason willpower doesn’t work. A few words about willpower…
Life has many variables to consider and most of them require our regular attention. A cell phone is an amazing tool to manage the constant flow of life. But is it worth our continuous attention? According to a recent study , 54% of kids think their parents spend too much time on their devices and 34% believe they are less of a priority when parents are plugged in. Setting Realistic Limits Whether you have young kids or teenagers, the need for a cell phone grows each day. They
As you sow, so shall you reap. Iâm sure youâve heard this statement at one point or another in your life. Have you ever really thought about it though? Look at this way. Right now, in your life, youâre reaping and harvesting things youâve sown in the past. So, weâve actually created our lives to be exactly the way they are today. Now, I realize this might sting. Reason being, we might be thinking that our lives arenât the way we would like for them to be. We might

REIKI IS FOR EVERYONEnn©2004 Bryana C. Hillman BFP, RMT We all have the innate ability to improve the quality of our lives. When I first began to explore the areas of alte ative, complementary, and energy field medicine in the 1990’s, I didn’t fully comprehend how dependent our culture had become on pharmaceutical science to “fix” the problems we faced in our lives. Recently, America’s current medical establishment has acknowledged the mind-body-spirit connection and, as a r
One of our greatest sources of authentic power in life comes from our willingness and ability to act - especially in the face of obstacles and fear. To be truly successful and fulfilled, we must challenge ourselves to take bold and courageous actions and to go for what we want. Legendary author Ray Bradbury said, "First you jump off the cliff and then you build your wings on the way down."
Ever have one of those “Yeah, but” conversations? Your friend has lost her job. Being the supportive friend that you are, you say: “Hey, you’ve got tons of skills. All you need to do is revamp your resume, and you’ll be hired in no time.” “Yeah, but the economy sucks. It’s gonna take forever!” “No it won’t - you’ve got personality and smarts on top of skills.” “Yeah, but what if that’s not enough? You hear stories all the time of qualified people who beat the pavement for ye
Whether you're feeling trauma from recent losses or are experiencing grief in the aftermath of past events, know that you can and will get through it. Following are pointers from first-hand experience. Having experienced personal and professional losses within a relatively short period of time, the world as I had known it went inside out and upside down. Functioning was moment-to-moment. Anything more would have been too much to ask.
I'm heading to my 15-year class reunion at Stanford this weekend. I'm excited to see some old friends, spend time on campus, and attend the various parties, sporting events, and fun stuff planned for the weekend. At the same time, I'm feeling quite anxious about the whole experience - knowing how easy it can be for me, especially in that environment, to get caught in a pattern of negative comparison.
I can't believe that summer is already here! This summer I have the privilege of leading The Shadow Experience: Breaking Through to Emotional & Spiritual Freedom at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. For me this is still humbling. I remember the first time I went to Omega in 2002. I had another business at the time. It was called Go Goddess! and we created games to connect and empower women and girls. As a result of the success of that business, we were asked to do s
During my days as a Youth Mentor, there were many young people who needed support in either getting their life back on track or in achieving something they desired. Some of the youth were very challenging to deal with, let alone provide support to, in a professional capacity. The key was to engage with them using empathy and compassion so that they opened up. The Youth Mentor’s role was to guide them in taking productive action. There were two types of actions that they would take:
Addiction: the quality or state of being addicted; a compulsive need for use of a habit-forming substance or activity known to be harmful to the individual. Is it just me or has our so-called developed society become riddled with every addiction imaginable? With all the opportunities life has to offer us all, you would think addictions would be less of an issue now, versus years ago.

If you are like most people, you think you are doing life. If you are like most people, you live by your to-do list. You get up early—maybe you work out. You go to work, take care of the kids, eat food, deal with your boss, figure out how to sell your house... For many, life itself is one big TO-DO. In reality, however, life is much more about being and less about doing. The exquisite blessings of life are not delivered based on how much you do. No, life’s greatest treasures, life’s pleasures, life’s bliss, life’s ecstasy, are based on being.
The ancient sages described the most effortless way to bond with the universe and fulfill our desires was to act in accordance with the laws of nature. Recently, when I hiked among a grove of amazing redwood giants in Yosemite National Park, their stories revealed powerful lessons about surviving. Might the wisdom gleaned from the oldest and largest living organisms on the planet be relevant for us during these challenging times?
So many of us get caught up in the past: past issues, past relationships, past mistakes, etc... We tend to give away our thoughts and energy of today to days and events that no longer exist. An unfortunate reality of this type of thinking is that we tend to lose sight of our true power and purpose. And we lose sight of the truth that we are free to change – to refine, improve, or enhance ourselves at any moment. The value of a moment is immeasurable. The power of just ONE moment can propel you to success and happiness or chain you to failure and misery.
