The other day I was driving in my car and a dashboard light came on that I had never seen before. I thought to myself, "I'm WAY too busy to deal with a car issue - I don't even have time to stop and check it out." Fortunately, I had the owner's manual right in the glove box. I looked up the symbol - it just needed air in the tires. I could easily manage that when I stop for gas.

If anywhere we can see the link between spiritual and physical wellness, it is in cases of addictive behavior. To successfully address and release any form of addictive behavior, we must be able to provide care and support to all parts of our being: to nurture our physical body, our mental and emotional state, our spiritual being, and also the social aspect of ourselves. Many times we see struggle in release of addictive behavior. That struggle can be lessened if care and nurturing are provided on all levels of one’s being.
Question of why some people heal, while others do not is not only interesting, but also very complex. When you begin to think about it and evaluate the reasons, it brings us to the path of discovering what true holistic approach to healing means. It helps us see why such an approach is so important. We must not neglect neither of its parts especially the spiritual element.

How does gratitude work? What's the point of it? Will this new craze of daily gratitude be something that changes my life? If it did, what would it change, how would I be different? Isn't gratitude some kind of religious thing? Like meditation, gratitude has been sidelined with religious beliefs to be practiced once a week, if you attend some religious facility. However, is it really? I recovered a note from a friend from 1998: Thoughts for this week: Abundance:
You may be seeking a way to earn a decent income or you might be looking for a purpose in life, something which makes you and perhaps others feel good emotionally. If so this may well be something worth considering. Over the years I have met a lot of psychics, mediums and Tarot card readers, whenever I advertised for staff I would get up to a hundred people apply for each job. The thing that made you realise that they are alike is that they were driven and focused people who
The Mayo clinic offers us this definition for osteoarthritis: "Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, affecting millions of people around the world. Often called wear-and-tear arthritis, osteoarthritis occurs when the protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wears down over time. While osteoarthritis can damage any joint in your body, the disorder most commonly affects joints in your hands, neck, lower back, knees and hips.
The value of our own healing How much value do you place on your own wellbeing and healing? In these financially precarious times it is tempting to skimp on what can be seen to be a luxury. But skimping on healing or resenting paying for it defeat the purpose Healing of any sort involves an exchange of energy. It was something Usui felt was paramount.
This morning, as I was meditating, I had one of those special moments of awakening. As I was in the moment, I remembered that the last time I had a profound experience of awakening, I tried to cling to it, thinking, “I want life to be like this forever.” The moment I attached to the experience, it stopped.
The reasons we are afraid are, in many ways, as unique as we are, and often need to be addressed individually. But let us explore the root of fear as it relates to healing.
I was just a young doctor when I first toured the Heidelberg Castle in Germany. As is the case in many castles in Europe the narrow passage was dank and poorly lit. What light there was cast eerie shadows on the carefully placed stones that made up the walls leading to the alchemy lab. A sign on the wall read “No Photographs May Be Taken of the Alchemy Lab!” It struck me as odd at the time, that one could take pictures of any other room in the monstrously large Heidelberg Castle, just not this one.
This question came from one of my readers, and I think it is a really significant question to be asking. Limiting beliefs are often hidden from our view, so how are you supposed to do something about them if you don’t know what they are and how to find them.
Anger is part of our human condition, which means we need to figure out strategies for recognizing it and then for managing it. We may experience it as a surge of inner heat as blood courses through our veins or a vague, unnamed discomfort that later breaks into consciousness. Or we might erupt like Mount Vesuvius, only then realizing we feel angry. But whichever way it manifests, anger can destabilize us, making us vulnerable to harming ourselves, others or both if we allow it to overtake reason and caution.
What is the meaning of Reinca ation? - It is the repeated entering into the physical.
There is a lot of information available about the benefits of massage. It has been scientifically established that massage is good for your body. It is also good for your mind; it relaxes, destresses, and temporarily shuts off incessant mental chatter. I am lucky to live in Thailand where massage is not a luxury. At about $5.- an hour there is little reason not to indulge regularly in a Thai Massage. My personal measure for good massage is being able to fall asleep during the session.
I know no one likes being told their dis-eases are "psychological," and I'm not here to tell you that everything is in your head. I realize there's more to it than that. However, your digestive system has a mind of its own, and it is wired to be heavily influenced by its mind. I'm not talking about the mind in your head - I'm talking about the mind in your gut.
In your healing journey, you may have heard about the importance of quieting your mind in order to receive intuitive insights and guidance to assist you in your healing. But if you have never meditated before, the thought of doing so can be overwhelming. And if you have ever sat down to meditate, only to become agitated and frustrated, as you experience the turbulent chatter of your mind and a body that it not used to being still, you may not be anxious to utilize quiet contemplation as a healing approach.
There’s no key to ete al life (yet - scientists are still working on it). However, that doesn’t necessarily mean your fate is entirely out of your hands. By taking particular steps to improve your health that may not necessarily be obvious, you can extend your life by several years. Humans are increasingly likely to make it into their centennial years as our understanding of our bodies and ourselves improves. In the meantime, here are five science-backed tips to help lengthe
There truly is no lack of processed foods designed to speak directly to and appeal to our children. Simple walk through any grocery store (even a health oriented grocery store) easily confirms this. Taking a closer look at the individual items and their ingredients reveals a rather sad picture. These foods seem to be abundant in fillers and artificial and chemical additives, while being seriously poor in nutritional value.
Speaking your Truth How often have we wanted to tell someone how we feel about them, about an action they have taken or something they have done to us. Instead of sitting down and having that conversation we have found ways to avoid it. To forget it in inertia or diversionary tactics, letting resentment, anger, hurt build up and erode not only our sense of well being but the well being of that relationshipr Whatever we feel for someone, whatever vibration we have for them, we are putting that out there. So if a friend lets you down, a partner upsets you and you say nothing.

Aromatherapy has been used across many cultures since ancient times. Ancient Egyptians used specific aromatherapy oils as they were mummifying a body. On the heads of guests they also placed scented wax cones that would melt progressively releasing the fragrances of the essential oils. In modern-day France, famous for its high quality lavender oils, essential oils can be used internally instead of medicine by trained aromatherapists.
One of the most challenging times in our lives occurs when someone we love is in a coma and on life support. It can be excruciating if you are the one that needs to make the decision, or even observe the decision being made, regarding when to remove the life support.
I was at a party recently where I was telling someone about my book. Not everyone is enamored with the concept of self-healing and taking full responsibility for your healing journey. In this case, the woman I was speaking with said out loud what I believe a lot of us really want but don’t admit. She candidly admitted, “I don’t really want to figure it for myself. I want someone to tell me what is wrong and how to fix it.”
Emotional pain from the past can lodge in the body and become physical pain in the present. If you ignore the emotional pain, you are basically ignoring the root cause of the physical pain, and may find yourself remaining in physical discomfort. This is a difficult concept for many of us to grasp—the connection between emotional stress and physical illness.
A while back my husband and I were in a class where we were asked to spend a day keeping a tally of how often we complained. I thought I was a pretty positive person so this exercise would be pretty easy to do. Oh my gosh, was I surprised to discover how often I was thinking complaining thoughts, though I wasn’t expressing them. I was complaining all right, just not out loud. We were also asked to notice our patterns of thoughts. Did we tend to complain about other friends, co-workers, politics, our bodies, our helplessness, injustice, past abuses, lovers, etc.?
Feng Shui Colors and Your Health If you’ve ever had a friend who said they always got sick, you might have noticed they were right. No matter how often they washed their hands or exercised, they seemed to get sick. But why is this? This person was attracting the energy of sickness to themselves just by saying that they always get sick. If they talked about being healthy, then they would have remained healthy. In the practice of Feng Shui, when you place certain things around
To date, I haven’t met anyone that has told me they can see them, taste them or smell negative ions. Yet, in nature, they are there all around us. Visit the ocean and you are in the company of negative ions. Visit the mountains, splash around in a stream, or take a walk in the woods and you’ll be breathing in negative ions. How do you know when you are in the presence of negative ions? You feel better. You relax and you feel more at ease with yourself and with life. That’s because negative ions increase the levels of serotonin in your body.
Many people struggle to identifynarcissistic personality disorder when it seems this person has such great qualities. At the initial stage of connecting to an individual with narcissistic personality disorder it seemed that this individual could not be a better person. He or she was loving, thoughtful, caring, attentive, dedicated and incredibly loyal. It is a horrific shock when the cycle of narcissistic abuse appears - where the idealisation ends and the inevitable devaluin
“Hypnosis” comes from the Greek word ipnos meaning “sleep”, but really hypnosis is not a sleep state, rather a natural state of deep relaxation. For most people this means lowering the brainwave frequency from waking (beta) to (alpha), the same level as in meditation.
Especially for professional healers, it is extremely important to clear your energy field from any of another person’s energetic “garbage” that you may inadvertently have taken on during that person’s healing session - a time when your energy field is connected to your client’s. Everyone can benefit from the simple techniques below to help keep you free of energetic dross from others and from your environment.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word which literally means, “the turning of the wheel of the Law”. (Refer The Chakras CW Leadbetter). The law is to do with the Laws of Nature as referred to within the Divine Plan (Theosophical Studies - HP Blavatsky). However, for this short article, we will conce ourselves mainly with the meaning of the chakras in relation to the Etheric Double of man. These chakras are wheel-like vortices which exist in the surface of the etheric double.
The appearance and size of the chakras, to the clairvoyant, will vary as the size and brightness will depend on how spiritually developed the person, who is being viewed, is on their evolutionary path. The chakras can be divided into 3-groups simply called - Lower, middle, higher.
This can be one of the most revealing questions to ask yourself in regard to your self-healing journey: What does it mean, if I chose this illness or condition? It leads to the next question: If I did choose this, what was I hoping to discover or gain?
Now, one of the most potent forms of prana that the etheric body receives is the energy from the sun’s rays, termed in Theospophy (Alice Bailey’s - Treatise of Cosmic Fire) as "solar pranic emanations." To understand the effect the sun’s rays have on us requires a deeper understanding of the rays and their emanations. There are three main channels of contact, which have differing effects on the bodies that they contact. Generally, the affects are good and provide nourishment for our cells and physical bodies.
This is such an excellent question. Guilt is at the core of many illnesses. Its partner is regret. As long as we are living in emotional pain rooted in the past, we are going to have a difficult time healing in the present. Guilt is anger with yourself for some choice you have made. The cells of the body can harbor the energy of guilt inside of them and when they do, your body inflames and congests in response. In fact, you may find that you heal, only to have a recurrence of a condition. Guilt doesn’t let us off the hook for very long and your physical symptoms may be reflecting that.
For many people the most difficult thing to master in their self-development jou ey is the ability to find Inner Stillness, that pure place within you that is your divine spark, your connection to all that is and the source of inspirational and transformational ideas. I would like to share with you a relatively simple technique I have developed that most people interested in self-development will be able to master with a little practice. First, find yourself a quiet, comfortable place where you can lie undisturbed for about 20 minutes.
If you have an “incurable” condition, you may be asking yourself if there is any possibility that incurable conditions can be reversed. The answer is, “Yes.” Just because modern allopathic medicine may not have a cure, doesn’t mean that healing isn’t possible. The journey of self-healing is about discovering the power and the path within you. If you have read my book, “The Root of All Healing,” you know that when I was faced with MS, I decided I was not going to live with that forever.
There’s a relatively new healing technique that is growing in popularity with remarkable speed. It’s called EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. If you haven’t already heard of it, EFT is a safe and gentle form of energy medicine that is now being recommended by the American Psychiatric Association, and is widely used in VA hospitals in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. Like acupuncture, EFT is a meridian-based therapy, but with EFT, no needles are used.
Knowing how to approach your self-healing process can be a real quandary, particularly if you don’t have a favorite and specific energy healing modality. You can spend a lot of energy just figuring out how to think of self-healing in a general context. Recently, one of my readers asked a really great question regarding a general approach to self-healing. It was significant enough that I sent it to several of my colleagues for their consideration and comments.
I was just going about my day, when a little voice in the back of my head said, “Turn on the television.” “What?” I argued with myself. “I don’t watch TV during the day. Sure, at night when I’m winding down my day, but day-time hours are for being productive.”
As one ages and becomes challenged with a medical disorder, exercise still is important aspect of daily life. Some exercise is needed to help retain the function and flexibility of the body. The exercise that we do may not be at the levels earlier in our lives, so the effort and the length of time that we do the exercise will be reduced. If we can walk, it is a great way to help keep in shape, but there are other ways that we can move to give the body a full exercise workout and still do it gently.
A Healing Toolbox, Best Practices in Energy Healing article When we are stuck, we almost always are facing multiple problems--and do not recognize this. The other day a friend was sharing something of his inner experience that the secret of soul transcendence really works, that it's completely possible to dissolve negativity and declare it over. I told him I agreed. As someone who assists clients as a practitioner I see this over and over. As souls, we each have the capacity to release ourselves; much of this is done thru self-forgiveness.
A Healing Toolbox, Best Practices in Energy Healing article To anyone feeling stuck in life, I wish to suggest a simple way to get UNstuck. "Being stuck" is exactly analogous to the "deer in head lights" phenomena, "Do I stay now or do I run now?" If where you are now is comfortable, both running and staying both have a cost. What if "being stuck" anywhere in life, is nothing more nor less tha FACING MULTIPLE ISSUES? This reframe makes "being stuck" a simple matter of disce ment Q: Disce ing what? I discer I'm STUCK! I don't know what to do.
Over the years I have met a number of people that have been challenged by fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and MS. The vast majority have been women. Those seem to be the most common conditions I encounter with people, and I wondered if that was reflective of who I attract or rather universal. So I did some research. First, I explored some statistics and clinical information, then I meditated to discover if there is a common emotional and spiritual root.
How often have you procrastinated about starting something important, creating unnecessary anxiety and worry, when it would have been a lot simpler and less stressful to just do it and get it out of the way? For many people the answer is probably more times than they care to remember. What causes us to know what we should do and yet we seem almost incapable of taking that first step towards accomplishing it? The answer is that our conscious mind is like the tip of the iceberg, with the vast majority of our patterns and beliefs residing in the 90% of our mind that we term the subconscious.
Winter can be such a challenging time when it comes to depression. The days are shorter, in the US more people die in winter than in warmer seasons, and grey skies can dampen your spirits. Of course, physical illness, stress, emotional turmoil, and abusive experiences from our past or present all contribute. And if you are an empath you may have bouts of depression for reasons that may be difficult to trace. I spent many years being depressed, and recently, with the loss of a few people in my life, I found myself feeling the heavy feelings of depression once again.
I have a cousin who chose to become a carpenter rather than going to college. Fortunately for him and those who benefit from his beautiful work, he did not heed the advice of many family members who told him he would fail and never make money without a college degree. Once, while he was on vacation, he came to my home in Hawaii. It was hot. At the time the only air conditioning I could afford was a window unit, but I had no window to put one in.
