As we move through the different stages of life, the challenges we face and the tools we have at our disposal to deal with them change. Speaking generally, we may in our youth feel the anxiety and uncertainty of trying to build a life for ourselves, but benefit from a sense of possibility and expectation. In mid-life, we may have gained security and the comfort of long-lasting loving relationships, but also need to juggle more important responsibilities and frequent stress. A

We have all foolhardily said, at one time or another, that if we only had so and so, we would be happy forever. I remember saying it when I was a little tyke and wanted a two-wheeler, and later when I was a young man and wanted a house, three kids, and two cars! I think we set ourselves up when ...

When a Buddhist monk or nun ordains, they give away everything. They give away their relationships, their families, their business career or job, house, car, clothes – everything. They trade it all for three simple robes and a begging bowl, and perhaps a chance to see the "Dhamma" -- a catalyst ...

A daily session of meditation may be regarded as the food that is needed by the soul of man. Even as the body is hungry, the soul has its own hunger. The body struggles to maintain itself by acquisition of the requisite food. So is the soul seeking that particular type of food which can maintain its existence. The soul is wiped out of its existence, as it were, when its true nature is neglected by the preponderance of the clamours of the senses in the body. A complete neglect
