Love is a wonderful feeling between two people that ends in a long lasting relationship. It does come with a set of compromises, understandings, needs that has to be fulfilled, and reacting to the emotional and physical needs of one another. An economic instability can also be the cause for a drift inside a relationship. Therefore the question of how to get my love back is very important for all of us. ________________________________________ Are you in a relationship with a man who is not sexual? You are not alone! ________________________________________ In a question to me on one of my webinars, Melanie writes: "My husband is very loving, but not very sexual. I've tried to talk to him about this many times in non-threatening ways, but his lack of enthusiasm toward sex makes it very difficult to engage myself when he finally does get around to feeling sexual. We have zero intimacy mentally and very little physically."r
In our heart of hearts, we always know when a relationship is ending. Sadly, people avoid and ignore the signs - staying in relationships long past their expiry date. Why? Breaking up is painful and people would rather delay dealing with it and avoid feeling the pain for as long as possible.
If you are looking for Christian relationship help, this article will help you answer the question: Is God punishing you for your bad relationship choices? There are commo Scriptural misunderstandings about relationships that result in Christians making unhealthy choices in relationships. These misunderstandings come from our families, church teachings, other Christians, and our own personal beliefs. In addition, we also tend to have rigid black and white interpretations of selected Scriptures. One of these is the belief that God punishes us for our wrong choices in our relationships.
There are those who are so talented at taking care of plants that whichever plant they care for will grow and live forever. But when it comes to cultivating a relationship with a partner, the story is different. Is there anything they can do to change this situation?
Our son got married a few days ago to Isaiah, the man of his dreams. Hardly ever in our work with couples have we seen such depth in love, respect and commitment. Whoever feels that only a man and a woman can truly love each other, has not witnessed the kind of deep love that Isaiah and our son, John-Nuri, have had for each other for the past four years. Love truly can take on many forms.
When life hands me a very difficult time, and I feel defeated and overwhelmed, I enter a hopeless and helpless state of mind I think of as The Little Orphan girl. This is the way I felt, as a teen, when I lost nearly my whole family, father, aunts and uncles, between the ages of 12 and 18. Needless to say, I was devastated; and I also survived and eventually, thrived. But little orphan girl doesn't remember that I made it through she sinks into despair.
Good relationships run smoothly and enable you to enjoy your life, work, and activities beyond the relationship. You’re not always worrying or talking about it. Like a smooth-running car, you don’t have to keep repairing it. You may have disagreements and get angry, but you still have goodwill toward one another, talk things over, resolve conflicts, and return to a loving, enjoyable state.
My Husband Is Going Away For 6 Months: My Husband Is Away And I Miss Him - I Miss My Husband When He's At Work Matrimony is a sacred commitment, and once you enter into it, you should value its holiness and not treat it like it's a casual thing or even as just a responsibility. Is your guy so cheap he squeaks when he walks? Is your girl so thrifty she uses tea bags thrice? I feel your pain. I too was a long-suffering companion of a date who felt that a root canal was preferable to spending money. Allow me to introduce him. We'll call him Rob. (I'll call him the most ...

Turning Up Your Man Magnet! By Suzanne Blake, PCC As a relationship coach, when I first meet with women who haven't been dating for a while, most of them use the same excuse for not getting out there. They all tell me that they have to lose five to twenty pounds before they feel they are ready to date. I am sure we all feel we could lose a little weight; we are women aren't we? Advertisers are constantly bombarding us with images of thin supermodels to get us to buy products
INSIDE RELATIONSHIPS WEEKLY COLUMN RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 4, 2009 What Are You Doing to Your Child? When you hold a newbo baby, you sense something God-like … I dare say, even if you're an atheist. A baby is untainted, sacred, perfect! It's important to hold that thought because incessant crying can get old, questions can grow monotonous, and running after a toddler can be a full-time job. That's not really the problem, though; the problem is that you already have a full-time job.
Do you get stuck in not being able to resolve conflicts because you don't know how to bring up issues in a way that works? Bringing up difficult issues is often a major challenge in relationships. Laurie wrote to me about this issue:
I once heard someone describing her wish to separate from her partner in the following words: “I’m in the departure lounge at the airport… there’s some waiting before take-off…there might even be some delay…”. She already knew she should separate, but still hesitated about doing it and decided to delay and postpone the moment. I must say to her credit that she found a very original way to talk about it. She’s already made a decision to leave, yet postponed the execution until sometime later. How “later” she didn’t say. What could be the reasons for her indecision?
For most of us, getting over your first love can seem impossible. It's hard to believe that we can ever really be happy again or that we will ever find someone who 'gets' us the same way our love did. The truth of the matter is, we are all humans and believe it or not, we cannot love one person only; we are capable of loving more than one. We can love very deeply and while we won't love each person in exactly the same way, we can have more than one 'true love' in our lifetime
Those with borderline personality disorder (BPD) have an underlying fear of abandonment and often misinterpret interpersonal situations where they end up feeling worthless or mistreated. They can have a distorted sense of self and view of others. The see themselves and others as split, as either “all good” or “all bad”. They will either project that others are “all good” (loving, supportive, caring); and then when they are triggered they will project that others are “all bad” (uncaring, abandoning or mean). These internal positions prevent them seeing themselves or others clearly.
You ARE Lover By Jan Denise From the time we learn the word “no,” we begin to get the message that what we would do naturally is “bad.” As young children, we can’t make a distinction between our behavior and ourselves, so we buy into a lie—the lie that in order to be good enough we have to sit still and be quiet, or look pretty, or SOMETHING. But you know as well as I do that some of the demands we place on children (and ourselves) are more apt to stifle them than make them good.
Men and women are forever hooking up, getting together and forming relationships. Just as frequently, those relationships break up. Most breakups, no matter how friendly, involve significant pain. Men in particular have a harder time dealing with breakups. Perhaps because they've been taught from birth how to handle their emotions, women actually deal with the pain of a breakup better than men. If you are suffering from a breakup right now, then simply learn a few tips which
Halloween. Every year it's a challenge to be creative and accommodating to my I'm-not-wearing-that sweetie at the same time. I love creative costumes. My ex was cooperative. He once allowed me to dress him as a topless dancer. The boobs I made for him out of balloons, cut up pantyhose, and baby bottle nipples would have been more convincing had I been able to get them the same size. Regardless, the costume was a big hit and I suspect-based on how well he carried it off-that my ex rather enjoyed the wig and the fishnets.
When I began writing my first book, Biting Back: A No-Nonsense (No Garlic) Guide to Facing the Personal Vampires in Your Life (Llewellyn, 2010)—and that was well over eight years ago, mind you—I remember I was anxious, even then, that the national fascination with vampires would pass before I could finish my book proposal and mail it out to prospective agents. Obviously, I needn’t have worried: vampires are as least as big today as they were then—and the question that people are starting to ask (and I know, because they’re starting to ask me) is "How come?"
Are you struggling with speaking the truth in your relationships because you are afraid of causing the other person to be hurt, unhappy, or upset? Then, this biblical truth and tip will help you. The most common conce Christians express when being honest is the fear that it will hurt the recipient. They have the misconception that it isn't "Christian" to cause a person pain or discomfort.
________________________________________ Do you often crave solitude, or is being alone too lonely for you? There is an inherent reason for these differences. ________________________________________ "Language has created the word 'loneliness' to express the pain of being alone, and the word 'solitude' to express the glory of being alone." –Benjamin Tillett I find this quote very interesting in the light of recent research on introversion and extroversion.
Often we’re so blinded by our emotions that we can’t decipher the true purpose of a relationship. Deep attachment can force us to stay in a relationship that was meant to end a long time ago. On the other hand, our stubborn will and uncompromising ego can make us leave a person who might be our soulmate. We ask ourselves, “Why is this person in my life? Is it really meant to be?” In such confusing moments, we must turn inward for the truth.
Is your relationship stuck in a pattern of blame where you both feel like victims of the other person?
A breakup with your ex is no doubt a painful experience, and it can be nerve wrecking to devise a plan in getting your ex back. But what if you could have your ex want you back instead? That's actually possible, and here's what you can incorporate in a plan in getting your ex back. Make a Conscious Effort to Look Good Usually, after a breakup, your ex will expect you to be really depressed, which will cause him/her to think that your well-being would take a turn for the worse
What do you do when your partner shuts you out? Do you know that being shut out and stonewalled is even more hurtful than being yelled at? Children would rather get yelled at or even hit than ignored. This is why the worst punishment for prisoners is solitary confinement. Yet, along with overt anger, withdrawal is the most common form of controlling behavior in relationships. Just as the fear of anger keeps partners from addressing issues, so does the fear of a partner's withdrawal. Loretta is struggling with this issue.
Most healing modalities engage just one or two levels of consciousness to support healing: talk therapy works mostly with the mind; energy healing like Reiki works mostly with energy; and many forms of body work focus entirely on physical structures. But the whole person includes all of these ...Most healing modalities engage just one or two levels of consciousness to support healing: talk therapy works mostly with the mind; energy healing like Reiki works mostly with energy;
We all experience guilt from time to time. But many of us have a hard time letting go of it and find it difficult to forgive ourselves, even though we may readily forgive others. First of all, it's important to recognize whether our guilt is true or false. Just because we feel guilty, that doesn’t mean we are. Feelings aren’t facts. And even if our guilt is “true”–that we’ve morally transgressed, we’re still worthy and capable of forgiveness.
It's not easy to know what to do when you have a friend who seems depressed. Dr. Romance has some guidelines to help you support and care for your dear one. 1. Don't try to cheer your friend up. It just sounds like you don't understand. 2. Listen, listen, listen: Your friend needs someone who can hear whatever the problem is. It doesn't matter if it seems like a small or big problem to you, it's overwhelming to your friend, and he or she needs to talk about it. A lot.
The average person pays more attention to what she's saying or thinking about than what she is hearing, or how her words are "landing" on the other person. This self-involvement gets worse during an argument. You can become a much more effective communicator by using "attentive speaking" a simple and highly effective technique that will help you pay attention to how well you're communicating, whether it's with your partner, your children, or extended family, or co-workers.
How Do I Know If My Husband Really Wants Us Back Together: Signs He Wants You Back But Won't Admit Your Husband left you few years ago for another woman, but suddenly he is now sending signs that he wants you back. This makes you uneasy because all the pain he has caused you before are starting to come back. You became angry to him for reopening the wounds inside you but at the same time you feel happy because after all those years he has realized that you are still the one h
We think we're one type of person. Until . . . *Someone makes us angry. *Does something we don't like. *Run into problems. *Things don't work out the way we expect them to. Then who do we become? A stranger even to ourselves. We close our hearts. We withdraw. We yell. We complain. Adversity has a way of bringing us out, of confronting us—the us that hides in there when everything is peachy keen. Adversity is what tempts us to come out and reveal that hidden part of ourselves. The self that shies away from people for fear of looking bad.
My Husband Makes Me Feel Sexually Inadequate: I Feel Inadequate Sexually It is a rare occurrence for a woman to be the one in control in the bedroom and that is a shame. Instead of letting your man always be the one in control and to be the one who decides how you make love, don't you want to be the one in charge for once? Don't you want to take control and show your man what he is dealing with? Now is the time for you to become a different woman in the bedroom and that you l
It is a beautiful Spring day here in Georgia, in fact if I didn't have a calendar in front of me I'd think it were Summer. The last couple of months I have noticed a trend in my practice revolving around the issue of self-destruction and self-talk. This made me think about a workshop I went to years ago on non-violent communication. The workshop explained how to practice non-violent communication and the benefits of it to communication within the context of interacting with other people. In light of my practice trends though I wonder what about non-violent communication and self-talk?
The following 6 Scriptural misbeliefs form the basis of Christian codependency. They show how inaccurate Scriptural beliefs contribute to codependent choices. The cure is an accurate understanding of what the Bible says about ourselves and how we are to value ourselves compared to others in relationships. Here are the 6 Scriptural beliefs:
Dear Dr. Romance: I was browsing the net and came across one of your articles "No Strings Attached Sex" which I found very interesting as it relates to a situatio I am facing currently.
My son was diagnosed with ADHD at 4 years old and was eligible for a wonderful kindergarten program for children with special needs. The teacher was amazing and with her help I was able to manage my son’s behavior without having to medicate him. The kindergarten was in a different school than the elementary school he’d be attending for first through sixth grade; the school his older sister had been attending for the past three years.
Loneliness is a tricky thing to combat. Loneliness seems to beget loneliness. When you feel isolated you crawl into your shell and become more so. You feel separated from other human beings. You may have physical symptoms too, like an ache or a heaviness in your chest. It’s not a good feeling.
A close relationship is something we all desire: to feel we are “one” with our partner; that we know each other as well as knowing ourselves; that we can communicate without words, like with a telepathic connection. But if we expect this to be the rule – rather than the exception - we might harm our relationships. In this sense Valentine’s Day – as much as it connotes love – might be a “dangerous” and “risky” day for lovers who expect too much. EXPECTING YOUR PARTNER TO READ YOUR MIND IS HARMFUL TO THE RELATIONSHIP
As human beings, we possess a rather unique capability. We are not just passive creatures living within limited confines, surviving at the very whim of the environment. Rather, we are able to examine the activities which change our world, and through an acquired understanding, influence how these changes will affect us. The Challenge The greatest challenge to this capability, however, comes in our connections with other human beings. Communication is necessary, not only to
