This is a question many of us ask once or maybe a thousand times. It’s also a question that can only be answered by each of us for ourselves. This article isn’t about Barbara Sher’s Scanners, but I want to mention them first before I go on to what I want to say. If you have ever felt conce ed ...

A suggestion is like a seed...once it is thrown onto the soil of your mind, it can grow into a mighty tree; it can even create a forest, with trees bearing nothing but the fruit of that suggestion. There are places and people that are constantly broadcasting gloom. Avoid exposure to anyone or anything promulgating pessimistic views; for their gloominess can vine onto you and in no time, the tree of pessimism will be rooted, miles deep, into your mind.
What you say is what you get. Have we simply forgotten the amazing power and potential of our words? The amazing manifestation that comes to life when we speak our deepest desires aloud seems a long lost secret. As I help women cipher through the code of their lives, unveiling their own ...
The value and benefit of emotional detachment must not be understated. We all need to feel valued, important, a sense of recognition... THIS IS ME! 'Me' is important, however allowing the emotional 'Me' to determine your sense of wellness and positive self-image in place of just being, just knowing, just accepting who you are may habitually become a boil on your psyche that may need to be lanced. Consider what I am trying to say by looking at how the website Facebook controls how some of us behave.
How comfortable are you with being uncomfortable? I know this may seem like a paradoxical question, but it's not. In fact, Michelle and I took a workshop this past weekend where they emphasized the importance of being uncomfortable - related to expanding our growth, success, fulfillment, and more. Over the past few days I've been taking some real inventory of my own life and looking at how willing (or unwilling) I am to be uncomfortable myself. I notice that in certain areas of my life, I'm quite willing to be uncomfortable; while in others, not so much.r
We find ourselves torn between confusion and conflict, and by affirming and denying that we are afraid by letting our pride dictate what is our reality. We are afraid of the Universe in which we live, suspicious of people around us, uncertain of the World future and of our own salvation. all ...
Women are learning the value of successful negotiation. However, men initiate negotiation four times more than women. Because of poor or nonexistent negotiation skills, women leave approximately $2000 on the table when buying a car. Women are more pessimistic about the rewards of negotiation than men. These and similar statistics are reflective of a woman not knowing her worth and having low expectations of her capabilities. Before you begin the negotiation process and expect success, you need the following top 5 "negotiation" understandings to get what you want.
The beauty of the mind can also be its downfall. One cannot overstate the significant importance of the human mind. Anyone can harbor anger and animosity at someone next to him or her and not be obvious about it. The mind is one instrument of amazing capacities that the human have control over, with complete privacy. One can have one thing in mind and report that he/she has something of the total opposite; and nobody can dispute what is reported because nobody is in his/her mind to know for sure.

WHAT IS EMPOWERMENT? When I meet new people and I tell them what I do, I'm often asked what an Empowerment Coach does. It's an interesting word this word empowerment, no? If you look up the definition you will find: to give power to; to make powerful; to sanction; to authorize; to allow. I've come to discover that I really love the word empower because it is such a, well... powerful word. I can even feel something inside myself shift and get excited at the mere thought of it!
If there is one ingredient that sets the successful apart from the rest, I would have to say it would be their passion. The dictionary says that passion is a strong liking or desire for, or devotion to some activity, object, or concept. One thing I have noticed over the years is that anyone ...
To me, Quest Makers are women in their 40s and beyond who've declared "now it's my time," and then set off on personal journeys to achieve their dreams. One such Quest Maker is Hilary Cooper-Kenny. From being a nurse at a maximum security prison to becoming a master weaver, Hilaryâs own next quest began in 2000, when she was 53. "Everyone has a dream. Crazy as a Loom Weaving Studio is mine. In a historic 1790 home located in the little hamlet of Kingsbury, New York, I have
I’ve been fascinated by the recent sensationalized stories in the media about “Balloon Boy,” the White House party crashers, and the various alleged mistresses of Tiger Woods coming out to tell their tales.
They travel throughout the region, visiting with local leaders, finding out what each village or town needs and providing services that really help. That's how the members of the Mobile Volunteer Ministers Center of Tamil Nadu, India have come to be known, and why they are becoming an institution in the region. In almost every case the local leaders request seminars based on the chapter of the Scientology Handbook called "The Technology of Study." One school principal recen
A song that the group, Sister Hazel sings is called: Change Your Mind. I wanted to share the chorus with you. "If you want to be somebody else, If you're tired of fighting battles with yourself, If you want to be somebody else. Change your mind . . ." These powerful lyrics were written by lead singer Ken Block when he was going through a very hard time in his life. These lyrics have helped many people "change their mind" and their lives but is it really that simple? Can we really just change our mind and then everything is better? Or, is there more to it than that?
It's nice to say that at work you're environmentally friendly, but what do you do when you go home? Are you 'playing' at it?

For years my life was filled with negative drama thriving on the attention it brought me. Everyone around me would jump right in to try to help me solve my dilemma of the day. It seemed I couldn’t make one decision in my life without getting feedback from every person I came into contact with. Being a hairstylist, then teacher gave me a large pool of people to emote to.
ATTITUDES AND CHOICESn It is important to explore different pragmatic approaches to life's problems. We all know there is no one right way to life issues. We actually do ourselves and the world we live in a disservice when we are closed minded or one track minded. There are ...

Barely two months in 2010 and already many a New Year’s Resolutions have been broken. Why are they so difficult to keep? I call February, the forgotten month. Resolutions will have long disappeared until a birthday or the festive season closing into another new year. Achieving your goals requires you to really understand what you want, why you want it, the emotional connection you have attached to it (i.e the price you are willing to pay to do it as opposed the price of suffering having not achieved it). It requires guts to take action because it will mean a change of habits.

Everyone knows that marketing is really a fancy business term for “putting yourself out there”. And, true to human nature most people have some degree of resistance to becoming as visible as necessary to achieve success. Fact – if you want to make more money – you have to build tolerance and capacity for being “out there” publicly.
Empowerment of the self is the philosophy by which I run my coaching practice. It is the concept involving the transformation of one's being, in order to achieve true balance amongst the mind, body, and soul. Its strength lies in the ability to trust our instinctual behaviors and eliminate the idea of total control within our immediate worlds.
To have the best life available you need Knowledge, Love and Inspiration. As you acquire Knowledge you can learn to do things for yourself and for others that make your life and the world a better place. With Love you can do these things with compassion, caring and humility. With Inspiration you can do things with zest and live life to the fullest. Combining knowledge, love and inspiration is often more difficult than it seems, for at times we spend time in a state of 1 of the three areas, but rarely all 3 at the same time.
Have you ever said or thought these words … “I know I have a book in me, but I don’t have the time to write it” or, “I know my story would help lots of people, but it costs too much money to publish a book”? There are lots of people out there in the same boat and they are trying to find the answer. r
1. Debt Since we are in America, we must look at the primary means of setback for most Americans. America is designed for all adults to be in debt for most, if not all, of their lives. If you are over 18 and do not understand this concept then you may be headed for trouble. When you tu 18 you are bombarded with credit card offers because the corporate machine says you MUST have them. All your young life you were told to get a "good" education, so the lure of overpaying for college is another noose waiting for you to stick your neck in.
Taking Your Life Back: The Power of Intentionality We donât grow automatically, John Maxwell says. We only grow older. The human brain is wired to accomplish tasks as efficiently as possible. Our default setting is neutral. Most of us spend most our lives with autopilot engaged. The winds of circumstance determine our destination. The rudder and compass of our lives remain slack, the helm unattended, the captain asleep in his cabin. I love the film âThe Big Lebowski.â L
Many of us find making life choices a difficult and daunting task. Some of us put off choosing for so long, that by the time we finally pluck up the nerve to decide, that particular opportunity has passed.
We live in an age that wires us to worry. We get way too much information from the tv, radio, and especially the internet. There are no more secrets and almost everyone has 900 "friends" keeping them busy every minute of the day. There is never enough time to do the things we want to do. We often feel rushed, overwhelmed and frustrated that it is never good enough, fast enough or satisfying enough.
Who hasn’t seen or read “The Wizard of Oz” a fairy tale, an innocent child’s fable. But is it? The metaphors, analogies, and symbolisms that are used in this film are unsurpassed. It was produced in 1939, in a time when sound and color film was cutting edge. Its message was loud and clear then and is still relevant today. Unfortunately, I can’t take the time in this piece to point out all the life metaphors I see—that would create a whitepaper. However, I’ll share what resonates in me this morning for you.

Pro-athletes have mastered the skill of getting 'in the zone', firing on all cylinders and winning the game. Why is it, then, so many trip up, drop the ball and feel like they've lost in the game of life? Here are the hard facts: • According to Sports Illustrated (SI) 78% of NFL players go bankrupt. • In the NBA, about 60% of players become broke within 5years of league withdrawal. • Athletes have a high rate of risky behavior that results in legal trouble: drug abuse, reckless driving, gambling & promiscuity. • Divorce rates among the athletic elite hover somewhere between 60-80%r
When kids are struggling with high school and all the trials and tribulations associated with their time spent in the brightly lit classrooms and hallway lockers, many supposedly sage adults are quick to tell them high school is “the best time of their lives.” As an adult who may or may not be sage, I’d like to make my position abundantly clear: I call shenanigans on these people! High school is not the best time of anyone’s life, and it’s more a
"It is the mind that makes one wise or ignorant, bound or emancipated." -- Sri Ramakrishna I read this quote and I truly had a light bulb moment, and it profoundly changed my life. We HAVE A CHOICE whether or not we want to move forward in joy, peace, and light or not. When my relationship ended with my ex-husband, it was one of the most painful stages of my life. I resisted, I argued, and then finally I surrendered and realized it was over. After I had my pity party (smiles) I was so drained that I couldn't feel any more pain. I couldn't cry.

Do you have conce s over what happens after you die? Do you have conce s about what is happening to our planet?
I love the Law of Attraction. I believe in it wholeheartedly. And you know what else I believe in? Taking action, and taking chances. This is not good news for some people. In fact, every time I give a retreat, or offer a new program, I hear from so many people who are scared to take a chance on themselves or their ability to uplevel. They’ve been taught – by their culture, by their families, or by their teachers – not to trust in their own ideas and dreams. This breaks

Economy. Economy. Economy. Seems that is all you hear about nowadays. Despite all the noise, what you need really to concentrate on is your personal economy. How is it doing? I am not talking about material things either. Unless you have lost it all and have resorted to selling all your possessions, we submit that you will at least be holding on to what you have. Now, if that is the case, and yes, some people are being forced to sell everything, but those are extreme cases. We will delve into those later.

Want to build a BOLD IDENTITY? Then you are going to have to be willing to be teachable. In other words, we should never arrive knowledge-wise, well, until you ARRIVE ete ally. This means, ideally we should be willing to receive correction personally and in our businesses/ministries at any time.
The Art of Positive Thinking when you’re feeling negativer Rhonda Rabow, M.A. Experts say that being a positive-minded person can help make your life easier, healthier, and longer. People who are optimistic are generally believed to be stronger than pessimists, both in psychological and physical terms. They are also known to be better equipped to cope during periods of stress. The Mayo Clinic says people with a negative outlook are more inclined to suffer from depression, more susceptible to catching colds and more likely to die of cardiovascular disease.

What a difference a decision makes This morning as I was laying in bed, I was thinking how nice it would be to go back to sleep - especially since it was the first morning this week I didn't actually have to get up at any specific time. However, my mind was awake and I began to think about whether or not I should get up and go to that yoga class I've been wanting to attend. I vascillated and conversed with myself and after a while, something told me to get moving. So I hurried, brushed my teeth, washed my face, threw on my yoga clothes and drove
First of all, we need to define what is self-esteem. From my point of view and experience, I see self-esteem as a way of thinking, feeling, and acting that implies you accept, respect, trust and believe in yourself. To believe in yourself means that you feel you deserve to have the good things in life. It also means that you have confidence that you can fulfill your deepest personal needs, aspirations, and goals. Self-esteem comes from within where you see yourself as a worthy, secure person who feels capable and able to handle whatever challenges may arise.
