Understanding Procrastination

If I may use some modern and classic allegories and ancient 'religious' terminology mixed together I would like to share this:

The way to overcome procrastination is to invest time to understand how the mind works - that we each have 2 minds the higher and the lower and through learning how to regenerate the lower mind and through the higher mind take charge of and full responsibility for your own life.

This you can achieve through meditation and through developing an understanding of yourself (and you can use any ancient religious text to do this).

In meditation we silence the reptilian brain where the lower mind resides.

Existence as a 3D garden of be-ing.

Life is a Garden, a garden of be-ing. By stilling the lower mind, the influences of the higher mind 'rains' down as in-spiration. We capture the rain and the moisture allows the higher seed ideas to germinate in the lower mind and regenerate it. It also feeds the existing ideas in the reptilian brain (habits and ad-dictions, etc).

Understanding is the sunlight of the mind which allows us to see and navigate through the garden of being. Sunlight also feeds the seed ideas and allows them to grow - when they bear fruit we can know their nature and decide of they are to remain in the garden or not. Past experiences in our lives (that are now subconscious) mind are the 'truths' or minerals that the seed ideas draw on to become strong - and bear fruit.

Throughout the ages the ancients recognized a type of 'war' between the lower and the higher minds - this is the classic battle of 'good and evil' - prolonged throughout history because there is no clear dividing line - because all behaviour is 'neither good nor evil' this is the deception the lower mind tries to classify everything according to its limited perception - but all behaviour is on a polarity and one's description is determined by one's perception and past experience.

See the struggle between the higher and lower minds like a bunch of snakes wrestling - where does it begin, where does it end? One cannot 'see' because one is in the middle.

A Higher Perspective

The way to get perspective is to come out of the middle of this struggle of the minds and 'enter the silence'. When we meditate we detach ourselves from the middle of the struggle and move from the lower to the higher perspective.

From a personal to a universal viewpoint - from ground level to bird's eye view.

Oliver has described the two minds within us well - instead of Rex, our forefathers called the reptilian brain 'the carnal mind' 'satan' 'lucifer' etc. and the higher mind Christ, Buddha, Krishna, The Messiah, etc. (Unfortunately traditional religious practitioners have not understood these terms and turned the desire for greater understanding of the workings of the mind into a farce).

The lower mind is the 10% that science confirms most people use(this is 'the world') - the higher mind is the 90% that lies dormant waiting for us to awaken it. There is a veil between them - the lower mind cannot get to the higher powers of the Christ mind because it would totally destroy everything - being devoid of the wisdom to use it. However, the higher mind is constantly pouring its ideals into our lower mind - awaiting us to recognize them and let them in.

Our lower mind resists - it desires the benefit of the higher ideals but rejects the changes necessary to live by them.

However, the higher mind perseveres every day - every invention is the result of in-spiration 'rained down' from the higher mind - the purpose of every in-vention (vented from a pre-existent principle within) is to teach us our own nature.

Everything you see represents an aspect of our consciousness of our physiology and psychology and is a clue to understanding who and what we are.

Is Procrastination really Procrastination?

Everyone of us lives subject to a law of 'cause and effect' - and everything we do is a product of this law - so the concept of free will is another deception - we are busy living according to the flow of streams of energy of which most people know nothing about.

This is because within us genetically, in our brains and in our bodies we are subject to our makeup - and the law works continually through each of us.

Unless we invest the necessary time to investigate our make up and get to know ourselves and the law - we will always be pawns on the chess board of life - and others who have invested more time will be superior pieces.

Through meditation one can develop the ability to navigate safely across the chessboard (the duality of the carnal mind) reach the other side (the higher mind) and become anything one desires (usually a Queen because she is the most powerful and represents the divine feminine within us all).

What appears as 'procrastination' is a very necessary part of life's processes - because these delays give us very important information - and often preserve us - preventing us from going where "angels fear to tread" and also in many cases protecting us from the consequences of achieving something but not having the wisdom to control our achievement or the delay is because we have not yet developed the necessary skills or have the resources to do a really good job.

Now everyone has desires and many people think that they are subject to procrastination - and feel trapped - but just as bread does not rise without time, people do not learn without practice and seeds do not grow without a period of apparent dormancy in the ground - so too do our ideas require time to mature in us.

It is a process of chemical reaction - of Life - where the past experiences within us co-mingle and become new elements, new talents, new abilities - as we start to re-generate the lower mind.

That time many call 'procrastination'.

Often what people call procrastination is a matter of polarity in consciousness - they would like to achieve something, achieve it now, but for some reason cannot - so immediately give the baby a name and call it a stumbling block - procrastination - without realizing there is a higher law at work a deep inner process - learning to look at the other pole is a necessary skill in guiding life..

This is a basic flaw of the lower mind: it 'wants' to control life, it 'wants' this gadget, this house, this partner, this job, this car, this... (whatever) and it tries to lead life without having the wisdom to do so.

Recognize this process and you will be free from 'procrastination' forever.

What you call 'procrastination' is the necessary and hidden process you do not understand - which will in the end, work to your good - so use the time you get through delaying one task to do another - where there is no blockage.

Be patient, do not beat yourself up - the vast experience of life cannot be understood or controlled by the lower mind.

By being patient and learning to observe the process of life and by investing time to know yourself and the laws that govern the expression of all life the law working through you will lead you into lessons and experiences that you cannot learn in any other way - and when you co-operate with the process and become aware of the working of the law - you will reach a state where life has led you to the state of consciousness where you can lead life wisely without the constant struggle with your lower mind...
