Excerpt from my book: "The Crab Effect" The subtitle of this book is "How to Handle the Haters in Your Life". One thing that is incredibly evident when one sets out to follow the path and purpose that God has ordained for his or her life is that with certainty, there will be haters trailing behind at almost every turn to defame, discredit, and assassinate the very plans of God for your life. In my grandmother's time, this used to be referred to as the "Crab Effect". The reference was to the effect that steam has on crabs in a pot.

What is meditation? It is a practice of not thinking where you commune with your inner self, and perfect the art of not doing. To many people in our society, this idea is extremely challenging. For over 2,000 years we have lived in the age of the mind, of reason, and the result of this is that we characteristically think too much. Do your thoughts race? Do you find that your mind recycles the same thought over and over again? Do you project into the future and ruminate about the past? These are all symptoms of an over active mind. What are the benefits of meditation?
Excerpt from Opening A Window To The Soul: A Guide to Living Beyond the Human Drama, a compilation of Spirit guided responses to commonly asked questions. Why do we fall in love? Through the bonds of romantic love and sexuality, you peel away the illusion that you are a solitary soul and remember your divine essence. For however long a connection lasts, whether a brief moment or a lifetime, merging with another person turns life into a glorious experience. You are then able to transcend the mundane through the communion of love.
Many people are conce ed at the moment as we watch the nuclear reactor in Japan keenly to see whether or not a disaster can be prevented. Brave souls are risking their future health by subjecting themselves to potentially high levels of radiation in order to safe guard the planet from a nuclear catastrophe.
Detachment is not an easy thing. It is so hard to watch the people that we love to go through difficult life experiences. But, sometimes detachment is a necessary thing. Why? It allows the person to going through the experience to learn what they need to learn without our interference. Also, it allows us to preserve some of our energy for ourselves so that we can have clarity about what is happening.
It was the sixties and I’m sure I was 12 years old. My friends and I were all caught up in the British invasion. My girlfriend Patty wrote me a twenty eight page Beatle letter that did nothing but ogle Paul. We were in Heaven.
Steps to Self Love This may seem a strange topic in a world full of self entitlement but often those who need more are those who have a bigger hole to fill. Our notion of self love is full of misconceptions a woman taking care of self may be called vain or worst yet selfish and a man egotistical. But where is the line between healthy self love and self indulgence and more importantly should one be drawn?
Ever feel like you’re standing in the middle of a long corridor of doors, all closed, and you’re confused about what to do next? This often happens when you begin to consider making changes in your life. Doors may close before new one’s open and you discover you’re in the hallway and it feels ...
Lying is something that everybody does and children learn to do at a very specific age-around about 4 years old- the same age that they are becoming more independent and watching how others behave. Children learn what they see instead of what they are told. So if mum is saying that everything is ok with tears in her eyes, then the child knows that she is sad and saying all is well. If Dad does not really want to play with the children because he is tired, the children learn about doing things that we do not want to.
I wish I was Wayne Dyer all Zen about letting children find their own way. Then maybe I would be able to resist sending my neighbours children to bootcamp while they were not looking. I wish I was Oprah able to talk about my bowel moments without fear of being asked for my senior’s card. I wish I was Dr Phil okay I really don’t wish that! I wish I was Suze Orman a money Goddess then maybe the Credit card company would be more inclined to take my calls and less inclined to act like money pimps.
“The Rocky Road to Inner Peace” The path of love is not easy, it’s full of ups and downs… ins and outs. It takes a person and rips them into a million little pieces, and then puts them back together again like Humpty Dumpty. It takes our guts and wrenches them so hard sometimes that we don't think we will make it through the process. Yet we hold on knowing that in the end everything will workout, and we will find great peace, bliss, and contentment… and eventually we do.

Often in the everyday stream of things, we enjoy comfortable assumptions which allow us to float on the river of life. Sometimes facing reefs of regret or butting against the banks of negativity, we nonetheless continue on our voyage. We see that we cannot travel backwards upstream since that ...
When I walked away from a six-figure job in 1998 to finish my first novel, it appeared all hope of my ever growing up was lost. It was bad enough I paid $1400 for a one-bedroom apartment in Gramercy Park while friends bought houses, got married and had children. Now, at the age of 35, I was ditching a successful career to chase my dream of being a writer.
Achieving your dream has never been more accessible and reasonable than it is today. The motivation for achievement is ever-present on the minds of entrepreneurs, but a new and growing population of displaced workers is now entering the market. Cottage industry, an industry where the creation of products and services is home-based, rather than factory-based, is rapidly growing across the United States.
You are what you think whether you are conscious of it or not. And the world that you see around you is a reflection of what you think on the inside. Since many of us were not taught this as children, we cannot make that inner/outer connection. So life just seems to happen to us without our participation or choice. Many times we think our thoughts are on auto-pilot and out of our control. Stories play over and over in our minds and we think that we cannot stop them. In addition, most times we don’t know the tools to assist us either.
"To err is human; to forgive, divine."-Alexander Pope This parable stars two children; however, if we adults examine our hearts closely I think we'll find bits of William and Hannah hiding somewhere deep inside them. William and Hannah were next door neighbors which served them well, since they were also the best of friends.
Sometimes when we feel stressed and we don’t seem to be able to bear the pressure of the demands set upon us by our modern lives. We seem to be powerless to stop ourselves falling into what some of us could call a “negative” mind set. So, what is negativity? I would like to throw some light into this word in order to better understand what it is. What do we really do when we lose the balance and harmony that propel us into a world sunk in a black hole, in a dark void of hopelessness so painful and overwhelming sometimes?
It seems that whenever you turn on the television or open a magazine what you see are advertisements about how important it is to keep your home smelling fresh and completely germ free. In order to provide such a high level of bacteria and germ free results, the manufacturers of typical household cleaners have to use some really nasty chemicals. It is not a huge leap of faith to see that if these chemicals are so harmful to bacteria, germs, and contaminants in the home they must also be harmful to humans.
It is true that everyone is psychic. Our psychic and intuitive perception is god given. These things are natural to us when we are born of body. They reside within the lower three chakras of the etheric consciousness, emotional consciousness and astral consciousness. Often called instinct ...
What is the Law of Attraction? Is it a physical magnetism that pulls in the things that you want and wish to happen at your beck and call? Is it wishful thinking? Or is it truly a law of the universe that manifests your deepest desires when you get out of your own way? Let’s examine the definition of attraction. In physics attraction refers to the electric or magnetic force exerted by oppositely charged particles, tending to draw or hold the particles together. It is also referred to as the gravitational force exerted by one body on another.
“And Being Close to God is Especially Important Now” We tend to think that having a long life is our ultimate goal. But what good is a long life if we never attain divinity. Here are a few things we can do to allow ourselves to find our true divine self.
Okay, so if you've been reading my newsletters, following me on facebook or attending any of my workshops recently, you know that I've been having a good ole' time with my Spirit Guides lately. I've been meditating, contemplating and channeling all kinds of inspired information from my beautiful friends from beyond the veil.
Sacred Feminine Goddess Kwan Yin is the embodiment of all qualities of the Sacred Feminine. She is also called the Mother of all Buddhas and the Chinese Divine Mother. The qualities of unconditional love and compassion are sought after by spiritual seekers around the world and people in need. These qualities are the same qualities of the Sacred Feminine Goddess Kwan Yin.
Are you aware that following your inner guidance not only helps you fulfill your higher purpose, but it also saves you money, time and energy? If the answer is yes, are you taking full advantage of it? Recently, a reader named Charli (who's been reading my articles for a while now) commented on my blog that following the promptings of her higher self has "always saved her time, or money, or energy." Her comment is below:
What does it mean to live from your higher self? The idea of the higher self is an age old spiritual understanding and it is one of the universal beliefs present in virtually every religion and tradition from the beginning of time. When primitive man stared up at the night sky, transfixed by the moon and stars he realized that there is something bigger than himself and that there is a universal intelligence behind life and creation. Even though all this seemed much beyond him
1. I allow time for playfulness and fun at work. 2. I surrender to the wisdom of the Universe and believe that my current job or situation is bringing me a lesson in love about myself or my life. 3. I know that I am safe and the Universe always provides for me. 4. I am loyal to myself first; everyone else comes second. 5. I have a dream and I am steadily moving towards achieving it. 6. I am aware of not "selling out" my integrity in exchange of money. 7. I am aware that change takes action and I am taking the necessary steps.
Today I received an email from a friend named Dan who recently created a wonderful opportunity to sail a 36 foot boat from Southern Califo ia, down the coast of the Americas and across to the South Pacific, and eventually arriving in Hawaii in nine months or so. The boat is not his, yet he is captain of it. And it came about for him for one reason; because he listened to his heart and is following it's call.
rnARTICLE 28.02.2013 "The Winter of your soul" And six simple steps for the soul!rnIt happens! So heres how to bring on a soulful Spring! The " Winter of your soul" is somewhere we have all visited. None of us our strangers to this murky place. Best described as what it is not, as being the time your soul is not rejoicing life, but instead feels absent or dormant, in need of a jolly good shake and perhaps a playful tickle to awaken it from its hibernation! We have all been he
I know God will not give me anything I cannot handle I just wish he didn’t trust me so much ~ Mother Teresa ~ Life has become a fast food meal to be scoffed down and digested on the run. We dont have the luxury of sitting down and enjoying the banquet of beauty Mother Earth lays before us. There is always something else to do and somewhere else to be. We are constantly on the run from life chasing time holding onto youth putting off old age. And yet with all this movement forward we are no closer to where we want to be.
We have lots of sensory information flooding in from the 5 senses. These senses don’t have the ability to comprehend what’s going on. They just tell us about the outside world, Then the matrix of the brains past experience creates a response. But when we use MIND which is out there, part of the Cosmos, which is God, the Universe, And the One and Only to comprehend sensory information. We answer to all of this information in a very different fashion. Instead of reacting, we go inward and comprehend how we can
"Live each day as if it were you last." It sounds wonderful doesn't it? What would today look like if i truly lived it as if it were my last? Would i get out of bed? i might just stay a while - not out of depression but because it's so peaceful, so safe, so genuine with being. Would i waste the time required to shower and shave? Would i brush my teeth? If i were a woman, would i bother with makeup? What about clothes, would they hold the significance they typically hold? Would i go to work?r
The brain reacts automatically to stimuli from past experiences. Our brain keeps us trapped in a cycle of never ending disappointments, because we keep trying to recapture moments of pleasure. From the very second we are born to the final breath we take we try to recapture moments of pleasure. Thus we become trapped by our brain and ego into thinking that pleasure is the only important aspect of being alive. But when we meditate we disassociate from the electronic chatter and find the calming spirit of God, the Universe, and the One and Only.

Soul Dating and Relating Aren’t we all looking for the same thing--for someone to be there for us, adore us, treat us delightfully, be fully present and attentive, help out with daily chores, respect our wishes, have enormous fun with us and show us reverence and free-flowing love? YES! YES! YES!
Mostly everyone who follows basketball, and many more who don’t, have probably at least heard of Jeremy Lin by now. For those still not quite familiar with all the hype, his play has helped the New York Knicks to turn their season around with a new burst of optimism. Thus far he has set stats comparable to NBA Legends and has broken several records all within a two week span.
Have you ever watched a video of a psychic as she or he gets ready to do a reading for someone or channel someone? What is the first thing you usually see them do? Right, the deep slow breathing that reminds you of a b-rated movie about psychics. After the few deep breaths they then open their eyes and you get a sense as though they are now someone different or in a completely different state, like super hero versus their alter.
The Supermoon in Scorpio May 5, 2012 is tonight at 11:36 EDT where the full moon is closest to Mother Earth. This moon is 14% larger and 30% brighter than most full moons. Some are calling this the "Super Duper Moon." This Supermoon in Scorpio is intensely transformative. The moon rules emotions. Scorpio is about transformation. The Sun is about where we are going. The Sun is now in Taurus. Since Scorpio and Taurus are both fixed signs, this full moon, Supermoon in Scorpio can be a challenging for many of us. We are called upon to balance two opposing energies.
“Love is already herer Can’t you feel Its Presence? It’s already here…”
Would one trade in his or her vitality for a temporary thrill? Would one lose one's spirit over some frivolous romance that did not even last the night? Hopefully not, but most likely nearly everyone is doing something quite similar to the above on a regular basis. If one is really serious about finding wholeness, then one needs to beware of the conspiracy of nature! What is nature's great conspiracy? How serious is it?
A young lady came to me who has gone through a hard time with her husband having cancer and she is very angry. Here is what I told her. Sometimes loved ones try to leave us, but we are so busy with what we need to do in order to keep our loved one well that we become hyper-vigilant and never feel our feelings. This is very common. Later all those feelings become anxiety and stress which leads to our inability to sleep, enjoy life, and be happy. We are always waiting for the next thing to happen… because we were always listening for our loved one in case they need us in some way.
All we need is love. Yes it can be that simple. Love is the only reality. Our hearts know this to be true. The ego just doesn't get it. That's alright for truth is more powerful than the ego. Our hearts contain all the wisdom of our experiences and of the universe. All we need is love. Feel that truth from the inside. Take a few moments to breathe it into our awareness. Let's feel it in our heart of hearts.
Have you ever considered the gifts you bring to others? Most of us didn’t grow up thinking about our gifts, and still don’t. Yes, if you were a great athlete, your talents were most likely lauded as a gift. The same goes with kids who were good students. However, I’m talking about the gifts ...
Noted mythologist and author Joseph Campbell says that, at some point in his journey, the classic hero must trust his instincts and make a leap of faith into a new reality. Luke Sky walker did this in Star Wars when he closed up his radar and electronics, and trusted âThe Forceâ to guide his release of weapons into Darth Vaderâs Death Star. When the hero is willing to make this leap, he wins the prize, discovers fire, slays the dragon, saves the maiden, or gains whateve
It is 3:20am and I can’t sleep. There is a word that is circling in my head and I don’t know if I want to welcome the vibration or shift my focus for a better feeling emotion. The word is Fragile. My overworked mind assess the vibration once again... What am I feeling and where is the comfort in this place? Laying here I notice the comfort in the awareness that I am not alone. I am not alone, not because my husband is sleeping soundly next to me, but because I can feel another all encompassing presence and that is bringing me an indescribable comfort.
Many people are finding it hard to stay positive at a time when it seems that all we hear is bad economic news. When we turn on the news, read the paper, or talk to family and friends, the topic invariably turns to the slumping economy. Last week the US government announced that we are ...
The Root or Base or First Chakra - Sanskrit name- Muladhara. The root chakra is conce ed with physical needs and basic human survival. Safety and security govern reactions of a 1st chakra response. The root chakra is about being here in this body, and connecting with the earth. It is also about belonging to, and fitting in with a tribe, and feeling safe. Children at the age of 0-18 months essentially need to trust their parents or care-takers. If the environment is safe and secure, they learn that the world is a safe place and it is ok to be me.
I have been going through a huge mind-shift in the last couple of months.
