If the last Australia Fashion week was any indication, the coming summer is going to a very bright and pretty one indeed. The catwalks offered plenty for fashionistas to gaze at and admire, but a few trends definitely stood out ahead of the others.

Don’t be surprised if you see the following ladies fashion trends all over Australia the coming summer:

Prints of all types: Prints are going to be very strong this summer since almost every designer has used them. As a matter of fact, people are going to be very daring with the way in which they use prints. There are going to be plenty of girly floral prints on frocks, shirts, skirts and even leggings. However, there’s going to be plenty of stuff for people who don’t want to wear florals. Graphic prints are also going to be very big the next few months. These prints also come in different sizes. A small built woman might look overpowered if she wears large prints.

Bright colours: Designers have been very daring in their use of colours for the summer. Their creations have made good use of colours, often in dramatic combinations and contrasts. While there will be lots of pastel shades to be seen there will also be lots of rich blues, oranges and greens. There is no doubt that summer dressing will be bright and fun thanks to all these beautiful colours.

Peplum dresses: If there is one thing about Victoria Beckham it is that she has an impeccable eye for fashion. This trendsetting fashionista and designer has been seen in peplum dresses very often (and so have many celebrities on red carpets). The fact that Kate Middleton has also worn them has sealed their popularity. These gorgeous frilled skirts are totally feminine and flattering to almost any body type. Designers have recently been going crazy with them, using them in different shapes, lengths and sizes.

As a dedicated fashion watcher you will definitely have a lot of things to look forward to in the summer. You can pick and choose from amongst the different trends, even mixing and matching them as you see fit. However, you do have to be careful about a few things. Don’t go overboard following the trends; remember the old but powerful saying that less is more! A few well-chosen pieces will ensure that you stay fashionable without spending too much money.
