Web designing offers endless possibilities for the companies. Be it a big or a small firm, websites are widely being used all over the world. Websites have many different roles. Based on the requirements of the organization websites can be either “Static” or “Dynamic” in nature.

Static site includes the unchanged or constant information while the Dynamic site includes more lively and timely changing contents or information. In other words, Static web pages are the standard HTML pages. These pages contain HTML code, which defines the structure and content of the Web page. Therefore every time a web page is load it looks the same while Dynamic WebPages are the PHP, ASP, and JSP pages. They contain server-side code therefore every time a page is loaded a new content is provided by the server. Anytime, Dynamic websites are more appealing and attractive then the Static websites as they appeal to the masses.
The web designing process can include images, texts, flash and other interactive elements to make the page more attractive and informative.

Some of the technologies used in designing a website are-

1- Markup languages - These are used for defining and presenting a text and hence to make it more appealing for the users.

HTML, XHTML and XML are the most important markup languages.

2- Style sheet languages - Style sheet languages defines the presentation of a well organized and a structures document.

CSS and XSL are the two main style sheet languages.

3- Client-side scripting- Client-side scripting is executed at the client-side or by the user's web browser. It is the system on which the Web browser is running.
JavaScript and VBScript technologies are used for Client-site scripting.

4- Server-side scripting- Server-side scripting is executed at the server-side. Server is a place where the web page design and other content lives.
PHP and ASP are the two main technologies used for server side scripting.

5- Database technologies- It is a structured and a well organized collection of data. It is organized in such a way so that it can easily be managed, processed and updated.
The examples of database technologies are MySQL, MSSQL.

6- Multimedia technologies- Multimedia technologies include a creative and an interactive representation of the variety of contents. It makes a simple and a plain text more interesting and attractive.
The examples of multimedia technologies are Flash, Silverlight, graphics, animations, slide show presentations etc.

Overall, the entire process includes -
At first a broad definition of an idea is created and then a detailed plan about the site is prepared, after that production and post production takes place, and at last research activities and advertisements are carried out. Hence, a good web page strictly follows the above mentioned steps.
