Pulmonary hypertension is defined as a severe type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in your lungs and the right side of your heart. In this condition, small arteries present in your lungs called pulmonary arterioles, and capillaries become narrowed, blocked or destroyed that makes the arteries to harder for blood to flow through your lungs and elevate pressure within your lungs arteries. In severe conditions, vessels may also become inflamed and tight.

The patient can experience several symptoms, most common of them are shortness of breath, swelling in your legs, ankles, pain in the chest, dizziness, bluish color of the lips, and skin, rapid pulse, etc.
