Have you ever been in a relationship and everything was peaches and cream at the beginning? As time passed by, it seemed that the relationship started to take a nose dive to a place you never thought it could go. You find yourself silently wishing that he would stay out longer or roll your eyes at the site of his name popping up on your caller id.

Then one day, it’s over. You never thought that it would come to this or that you would feel like this but it did. He decided that it would be best that you both see other people.
You thought that you would be the first one to say that it’s over, but it didn’t happen that way. Now you are wondering why your heart feels so heavy and then you realize, you really did love him.

Has this every happened to you before? Well, I have had my heart broken before and let me tell you that it’s not a pleasant feeling. I would like to share with you my secret strategies of getting over a broken heart.

Don’t be afraid to be emotional. There is none thing wrong with crying. Crying is cleansing for the soul. A good cry will make you feel better. However don’t let your emotions get the best of you where you can’t function properly.

Remember the good times. Every relationship may have its ups and downs but always remember the good times. The good times that you guys shared can’t be replaced.

Forgive. Regardless of who created the problems in the relationship, you must forgive him and also forgive yourself. If you don’t forgive, your life will be controlled by your previous relationship and you may never move on or attract the amount of love you are seeking.

Let go. As women I have noticed that we always try to control everything. However, there are some things that you can’t control. Let it go.

Take it as a lesson learned. Take time to reflect over your relationship and figure out what you learned about being in a relationship and what did you learn about yourself. Take the lessons you learned and grow from them.

Take time to heal. There is a saying, “Time heals all wounds.” Take time to let your heart heal and make sure that you spend it doing things you really enjoy and surround yourself with loved ones.
