Did you know that the original act of sabotage is thought to have occurred not long after the introduction of machinery when someone slipped a workman's wooden shoe, called a sabot, into a loom in order to stop production?

How does sabotage enter in to your best home based franchise business? How does sabotage enter into you taking the action that is required in becoming a top sales producer in your company?

The actual definition of sabotage is to halt all production. What are you doing on a daily basis to either knowingly or unknowingly halt the production of your home based franchise business? Are you using the economy as an excuse? Are you keeping busy by getting ready to get ready; never taking the revenue generating activity that is needed to bring in new customers and to drive your home base business franchise to profitability?

It’s amazing to me how so many of us continually sabotage our success and don’t even realize it. I believe that for many of us it is because we are actually afraid of the success that we might have in our home based franchise business and the change that will inevitably happen when that success comes. So, instead of dealing with change, people tend to sabotage their success and then use excuses as to why they were not successful. You know the excuses; it’s the economy, I didn’t have the time, I don’t have the marketing capital, my sponsor never calls me back.

Now, you might be saying, Jen, that’s crazy…Your Crazy!! Who doesn’t want to be successful? Who wouldn’t love to never have to worry about money? Who doesn’t want to ultimately live the lifestyle of their dreams? Guess what? You are right…everyone wants those things in their life and in their home based franchise business, they just are not willing to go through the challenges, the changes, and many times the pain that will take place in becoming a top sales producer in their home based franchise business and in their life.

It is human nature to want to be accepted by the crowd. To change your destiny you will have to step outside of the crowd that you are currently hanging in, make changes and meet challenges head on. This is difficult for most people, which is when sabotage comes into play. You don’t want to leave the comfort of what you know and the comfort of your current network of friends. You might be viewed as ‘different’ or ‘money hungry’ by these people.

I remember so very clearly when I was starting in my sales career. I was right out of college and a lot of my friends were still into the partying scene, which was fine. But I knew that I wanted more and I knew that being in sales was going to be my ticket to the lifestyle that I wanted.

One night my friends and I were sitting around and I was talking about business and one person said to me, you know Jen, you are changing…all you care about is your career and money. She said it with such venom that it really shocked and hurt me.

I left the party after that comment and really did some soul searching and what came out of it was yes!! I wanted more than just living pay check to pay check. I wanted my own home, I wanted to be able to buy nice things and while it was a scary time for me, I refused to sabotage myself for the sake of what my ‘friends’ were thinking of me.

I continued on my path in sales while slowly and surely meeting new people that were more aligned with the goals that I had for myself and for my future. I was becoming a top sales producer within my home based franchise business and I was living the lifestyle that I had envisioned for myself.

The change was at times lonely and painful, but today I look back and am so grateful that I had the guts to make that change. Many of the people that were in that room that evening are still living paycheck to paycheck. They aren’t able to save for their future and yes, are still saying how easy I have had it. It’s not that I have had it easy building my home based business franchise. It’s not that I have had it easy becoming a top sales producer, I have just chosen not to sabotage my success and my life. I have chosen to not halt production.

So, what choices are you going to make today? Are you going to continue to sabotage your success? Are you going to continue to halt your production because of something that someone else said? Are you going to continue to make excuses as to why you are not becoming a top sales producer in your industry?

Stop sabotaging yourself and take the action that is required to build your best home based franchise business.
