What does it take to stop believing that the image in the mirror is unattractive? First of all, notice what you are holding in mind. What are you creating for yourself by labeling yourself negatively? When we look in the mirror and dislike our image, we are seeing ourselves in a distorted manner. This cycle is the beginning of having a bad day. If we aren’t happy with ourselves, trust that no one outside of you can make you happy. No one other than YOU can decide how you feel about yourself.

Disliking the image in the mirror causes us to feel unworthy and unhappy. Trust that having an aversion to your own reflection isn’t helpful. The image in the mirror is yours, and without realizing it, you are rejecting yourself. You are also pushing and denying yourself from having abundance. Most people looking in mirrors are criticizing their own image and shortcomings. So this offers us an opportunity to begin letting go of believing that we are stuck with imperfections. Please see that nothing positive comes from acting negatively.

It’s time to see that we are the only one looking in the mirror. Let’s make a decision to be done blaming the mirror…, the wrinkles…, the graying hair…, the scale…, etc. No more excuses. No more pretending that if we wait a little longer that things will finally change. It is helpful to realize that by expecting the image in the mirror to correct itself by avoiding it or criticizing it — isn’t realistic. In truth, in order for something to change, we have to love and accept it exactly the way it is in this moment. Non-acceptance causes the situation or circumstance to remain.

By disliking the image in the mirror, we are unknowingly creating concerns regarding our health and weight. We are also struggling with issues related to self-esteem. Nothing changes unless we decide we’ve had enough and are willing to do something different. It’s time to recognize that the only things keeping us unhappy and miserable are the limiting beliefs and excuses that we project onto ourselves when we look into the mirror. Trust that there is nothing wrong with the mirror.

Real love and happiness exist right where you are. In this very moment there is wonderful and loving energy within you. If you are willing to take responsibility for what you are holding in mind, you can easily begin to change how you feel about the image in the mirror.

Let’s make a decision to let go of using the mirror as an opportunity to disapprove of ourselves. Instead of looking at what’s wrong, get in the habit of seeing what is right. Appreciate that you can see with your eyes. Be thankful for your nose which allows you to smell (it also keeps your glasses in place if you wear glasses). Thank your mouth and teeth for the ability to speak clearly, to be able to sing; for enjoyment of eating, and smiling. By the way, smiling while standing in the mirror feels great. Surely it is a blessing to be able to hear. See the image in the mirror and be grateful for all that you do have. Whatever you like about yourself is a good place to start seeing goodness right within the image in the mirror. Begin practicing to let go of disapproving of yourself. Remember to treat yourself with love, kindness, and respect each and every time you pass a mirror. Each time you share love with your Self, you feel wonderful. You become more loving and more positive.

Feeling good and looking better begins the moment we are in acceptance that our bodies are 100% perfect as they are before us. See the image in the mirror as 100% perfect and healthy at all times! Love yourself generously. Love is the answer!
