Nose surgery or rhinoplasty is one of the most popular types of plastic surgery performed today. There are five different techniques that can be used during this type of surgery including open rhinoplasty, closed rhinoplasty, filler rhinoplasty, ethnic rhinoplasty, and revision rhinoplasty.

Filler rhinoplasty involves injecting a type of filler such as Restylane into depressions on the nose to improve its shape, but the improvements are only temporary. This technique is not really considered a surgery.

Ethnic rhinoplasty is a technique being performed on increasing numbers of African Americans, Asians, and Hispanic Americans to make small changes to their noses, whether it is to make their nose more narrow at the bottom, change the shape of the tip, or change the bridge of the nose.

People who make the best candidates for rhinoplasty are those who want to correct what they consider to be a big or wide nose or who want their nose tip reshaped.
