The main thing that is keeping you feeling stuck in a rut is your thoughts and your thought process.

Your thoughts are the determining factor to the actions that you take in life, when you are feeling stuck, it is invariably down to the principle thoughts that you have floating around your head on any given day.

Dis-empowering thoughts are the reason that you are stuck, dis-empowering thoughts sap your personal power and leave you feeling fearful instead of fearless.

Feeling stuck is no laughing matter, you feel stripped of your personal power, you can't seem to move forward with your life, and you continuously talk to yourself negatively.

There are a multitude of dis-empowering thoughts that act to keep you well and truly stuck in your rut, of all these dis-empowering thoughts I have found five thoughts that in my opinion do the most harm in keeping you feeling stuck in a rut.

I'm Afraid

Being afraid is a symptom of feeling stuck in a rut, it is one of the worst thoughts that you can possibly have, when you are afraid you refuse to move forward with your life, you decide to stay as you are and settle for the scraps from the table of life. This is no way to live you life in a state of perpetual fear.

I'm Overwhelmed

Feeling overwhelmed stops you from moving forward with your life, it keeps you locked in a constant state of limbo, never moving forward and being content to stay exactly where you are.

I don't know what to do, so I will just do nothing.

Unless you are teetering on the edge of a cliff, I would way that it is always better to do something than do nothing. When you decide to do nothing, you are allowing life to move forward without you, the world will not stop turning just because you decided that you don't want to move forward with your life.

I don't want to deal with this right now

Putting off the inevitable is just another way that you keep yourself locked in a cycle of inaction and feeling stuck in a rut. Putting things off in the hope that they go away is a lesson in futility. Very few situations in life ever get better through simply ignoring them, in the majority of cases things tend to get dramatically worse when they are ignored.

Why does this always happen to me

When you ask yourself questions that begin with “WHY” you are setting yourself up for a very big fall. When you answer a question than starts with “why” the answer that you get will be based on opinion and will probably have no factual evidence in it whatsoever. Why does this always happen to me? When you are feeling stuck in a rut your brain usually answers “because your stupid and you deserve it”. These answers only serve to keep you feeling stuck in a rut.

It's not fair

Life isn't fair, that is the long and the short of it. There is no conspiracy where the universe is conspiring to keep you down and feeling stuck in your rut. Good things happen to bad people, and bad things happen to good people. The problem with moaning that “it's not fair” is that instead of putting your energy into changing your current situation (whatever it is) you are focusing your energy on it not being fair. All that this does is perpetuate the cycle and keep you feeling stuck in a rut.

These six thoughts all have one thing in common, they are all symptoms of FEAR, is is your fearful thoughts that have kept your greatness held hostage and kept you feeling stuck in a rut.

Do you let these fearful thoughts control your life? Don't you think its time you stopped letting your thoughts control you, and time that you started to take back your power and control your thoughts?
