Relieving yourself from stress at work (or any stress, for that matter) might be much more important than you think. We often tend to overlook this issue and accept it as an inevitable fact. Of course work is stressful, but does it really have to affect you that much? Is there an easy way to overcome stress?
Coping with modern-day business demands can often be overwhelming and unless you figure out how to release the pent up steam every now and then, chances are the daily grind will have its bite on you. So what should you do to try and escape the clutches of the machine? Fortunately, there are many simple (as well as more complicated ways) to effectively get rid of that stress. Here are some suggestions:

1. Start meditating. Meditation is a simple and almost effortless practice which will bring you nothing but benefits. There are many techniques out there but the core principle of every meditation is to dive within. Sit in a comfortable position or lie down, try to relax your body as much as you can, follow your breath and try not think about anything. The goal is to be completely free of any thoughts, but at the same time not to fight any arising thoughts. Just observe what’s happening and let it go. It takes some practice, but when you get into it, you will notice a major improvement in being able to control your actions and your emotions. Click here to read more on how to start meditating!

2. Spend more time outdoors. Getting in touch with nature will always have a positive effect, especially if you tend to spend most of your time in the city surrounded with concrete everywhere you go. You don’t have to plan anything special, just get out there and enjoy the nature! Take a hike or have a picnic with your friends, ride the bicycle. If you don’t have the time or means to travel out of the (presumably big) city, then take a stroll through a park. The greener the better. By the end of the day you will feel energized and ready to take on new challenges.

3. Eat better. You know how they say, you are what you eat. If you find yourself munching on fast food or muffins on your lunch breaks, you could probably benefit from a change in diet. For starters, eat more fruit. That’s as simple as it gets. Replace the unhealthy sweets and pastries with fruit at your workplace and enjoy a quick boost of energy. Bananas are especially good for this. Click here to find out more about eating fruit at work.
So there you have it. Three simple ways to help you get through your working hours unscathed. Consistence is key, and good habits pay dividends. Try to keep up with it and you will undoubtedly enjoy the benefits.
