You look toward the horizon and you see a glimpse of the water. You still have one heck of a hike in front of you. You take a sip of water and readjust your backpack. As you walk closer and closer you imagine the coolness of the water against your hot, sweaty skin. You can’t wait to just walk in the water and let it melt away all of the stresses that you’ve been carrying around.

This last year has been rather hard and you’ve been looking for a way to get a brand new start on life. You’ve needed this trip for so long and the timing could not have been more perfect. This is going to be a reflection of the past that will be summed up by a new perspective when this trip is over.

My career, my kids, my husband, and my parents have all been taken care of for so long. It’s finally time for me. I have to regroup for me. I am no good to anyone else until I figure out everything for myself. You give and give until there is nothing left. I felt drained until this trip. It was time for me to go inside myself without any distractions from anyone. I needed to figure out what else was in store for me. What are some of my other possibilities in this lifetime?

Clearing out this void, trying to make sense of what is missing is going to take some time and a lot of inner work. Is there something else that I would be good at doing? Should I dabble more into the arts? Should I volunteer more? Should I adopt a child? There are so many questions that I have to find answers for.

My feet are finally touching the warm sand. I only a few more yards to go until I reach the ocean. It has been such a quiet soul searching journey to get here. The water is such a beautiful and relaxing site. I can already feel the tension in my body melt away. I can feel all the energies of the universe working together. The sun with its radiant heat, the sound of the waves crashing upon the shore, the sky with that perfect shade of blue with the soft white clouds. There are miles and miles of sand on the shore. This will be my home for the next few days. This is the beginning of a journey I so longed for.

After my nice long swim I sat on the shore and closed my eyes. I started to envision my future, my new future, the one that my heart and soul has longed for.

You don’t have to go to this far to see the visions of your new life. You can sit anywhere and do this; you just have to get away from the stresses to do it. You can sit quietly and relax and take your mind to that beach. Once you are relaxed enough and have cleared your mind you will be able to see exactly who you are and where you want to go in this lifetime. We have way too many stresses and distractions in our daily life. Put more positive thoughts into your life. Stay away from negative people. Always be thankful for everything. Appreciate everything that is breathing on this planet.

I welcome all the new ideas that have transformed my life. I wish the same for you.
