The Darkness Leads The Way

The darkness is real…

In this entrepreneurial journey, there will be times when you sink so low, you wonder if you will ever come back up for air…

There will be times that you wish you did not care so much…

There will be times when you feel as though the darkness is going to eat you up and you will never be able to overcome it…

And then if you are maverick-leader, you will feel the thoughts, feel the agony and you will find a way to keep going because you must.

There is no other way for us.

We want so much for ourselves, for our loved ones…

We cannot give up!

We face the darkness, even lean into it…

Let it overwhelm us because we know it makes no difference, we are in this to win…

So the fear may come powerfully…

The storm may rush in and threaten to knock us off our perch…

Some days, we feel victim-y but we know we will never quit…

Some days, we feel like conquerers and we KNOW we will never quit.

People around us wonder how we take the pressure and still keep moving…

Truth be told, we wonder the same thing too…

How do we handle it?

Why do we keep throwing ourselves into the fire?

Why don’t we just give up and become a normal person, living a settled-for life?

Why don’t we just get the job, let someone else tell us how much we are allowed to make?

Why don’t we just stop with the seeming delusions of grandeur?

Why do we face disaster sometimes daily and still somehow keep pushing through?

Why will we choose this crazy life over anything else and let’s be honest, ANYONE else?

Are we born different?

I don’t think so, although I do wonder…

Maybe some are born for the push, the hustle and others are just not…

I don’t know

I choose to believe everyone can get everything they want, if they want it enough – After all, the first 32 years of my life was spent living a passive existence and then I woke up to who I wanted to be so surely, anyone can do that!

And yet, the darkness is real…

It overshadows and it makes it feel impossible to break through at times and then you wonder WHY?  Why go through all this pain?

Because I see this vision of what life can be like for me, for the ones I love, and for the self-titled mavericks that I keep attracting to my community…

And the vision is powerful…

A world where we, the spirit-driven entrepreneurial leaders, step up and make the world better, brighter, more awesome…

A world where we finally KNOW what we are capable of and we easily create miracles out of what is within us…

A world where hunger ends because everyone is living to their fullness…

A world where no one is victim…

And I know lots think that this has to wait until some time after you die – in some spiritual nirvana –  and so they passively make it through this life, ignoring the darkness and trying to make do with whatever they can until the moment when they die…

But I cannot think that way…

I am not here to just pass through…

I want it all

The full life experience…

And I will not stop until I get it…

Are you one of us?

Determined to impact many people with whatever is inside of us…

Determined to be rich…

Determined that our families flourish…

Determined that everyone we touch flourishes…

And so, yes, the darkness is real but we are brighter…

The darkness is real and yet, it is by passing through it that we reach the big vision, the big idea…

And we shine brighter than ever before, because we passed through the darkness and did not run from it…

And finally the darkness goes away…

At least for a bit…

Fight for, deliberately design the life you are born to live…
