What can you say about a minute? That is what can you say about a minute other than it being 60 seconds.

Well, what you decide to do with that minute can have a profound effect on your sales career.

If you want to be successful, which I'm sure you do, then you must realise that every minute matters.

It is a common trait amongst all successful sales people that even though they have extremely busy schedules, more so than most in fact, they always seem to make time for that little extra that make such a big difference in their lives.

You may be asking at this point what an earth we can do in only a few minutes that could possibly make such a great difference.

Well to start with I highly recommend that you carry with you at all time some motivational reading material, what kind of motivational material you choose is really up to you but what really makes you feel good and ready for a challenge when you have read it?

Think and Grow Rich, Chicken Soup For The Soul, whatever it is keep it in your briefcase and whenever you find yourself with a minute to spare, get it out and have a quick read.

I have read Think and Grow Rich many times and each time I learn something new, without fail.

What else can you do in a minute? How about running up a flight of stairs, it may not seem like much but that minute of exercise, several times a day, can make quite a difference over a period of time.

Listen to what's going on around you, it's amazing when you stop to listen, you will hear things that perhaps you should have heard before but have always been to busy.

What have you been putting off doing for a long time, use the minute to get started and finally making a mark on that to do list.

If you make those small steps you will get through that list before you know it.

Meditate, you don't have to be in a quiet room to meditate. Sit at your desk and slowly quiet your mind, you will find that this will take you to places that can only improve your daily sales performance.

Can you begin to see what can be achieved instead of just sitting there twiddling your thumbs, just take time to do something with those minutes and I can guarantee that the super salesperson inside you will start to come out for the world to see.

If you doubt what I am saying just take a look at the other sales people in your team and notice what they are doing during the quiet periods.

I can guarantee that it is the ones that somehow just seem to get lucky with their sales figures (according to the less successful ones that is) who are always busy.
