The phrase ‘Your Greatness’ can be called different things. It could be ‘Your Destiny’, ‘Your Purpose’, or even ‘Your Calling’. What each of these phrases speak to is ‘what are you on this planet for?’ The thought can be overwhelming! Perhaps immediately followed by ‘I haven’t a clue!’

Life would be so much easier if our parents were given a certificate at birth that stated ‘Future Physician’ or ‘Future Adventure Seeker.’ Wouldn’t it be nice to know from birth what direction we should be steering our life?

When I look at famous people who have stepped into their Greatness and ascend to great achievements I think of Ghandi, Martin Luther King or Margaret Thatcher. I also have people in my life that are great spiritual leaders, chefs or care-takers. Think of people you know, whether they be friends or famous people who you admire for their ability to step into their greatness.

They all have one secret in common. They are comfortable in their own skin.

Being comfortable in their skin means that they understand their strengths. They have a vision of what life can be. They have faith that if they keep moving forward they will attain their goal. From their faith come personal strength, focus and determination. The naysayers do not deter them.

You may be thinking to yourself, ‘That’s wonderful, but I haven’t a clue what my greatness is!’

The discovery of what your greatness is can be partly found in your life journey. But it is also about setting a path for yourself moving forward. You need to set goals for development of your skills or talents. I urge you to listen to your little voice that is trying to steer you in a particular direction.

For me, I started listening to that little voice and set small goals for myself to develop my talents. What started happening is that things started showing up in my life to assist with. It may have been a small project at the office, or the time I was asked to speak at a local event.

It was amazing how when I set my intention and focus, life kind of started aligning with my vision. It was kind of like getting a wink from high above that I was on the right track. It is an empowering feeling.

Over time, my vision has evolved and I find myself getting more comfortable in my own skin. Partly because I have direction through my goals. Mostly because my little voice sings with joy.

Have I stepped into my greatness yet?

For me, right now, it’s hard to tell. What I do know is that I am on the right path.
