Why You Need A Strong Squeeze Page

You might have heard of the term 'squeeze page' being used interchangeably with terms such as 'landing pages' 'opt-in pages' or 'lead capture' pages. While all of these refer to collecting email addresses from website visitors, the squeeze page offers a little something extra.

As the name implies, a squeeze page designed correctly will squeeze information from your website visitors, but in a good way. The purpose of the squeeze page isn't to make someone feel coerced into providing their email address information. No, I'm not referring to the mile long pages that you see offering fly-by-night products either. I'm referring to carefully crafted pages with engaging video, bulleted text, and strong imagery. A squeeze page done right will certainly give the visitor a gentle nudge in the right direction.

The Need to Capture Email Addresses

Why should you care about collecting email addresses? You might think that this is just another item that has to be managed on your to-do list. That is not the case. Capturing your visitors email address places them safely within your sales funnel system that converts a cold website visitor from a warm lead to life long customer.

This is the beauty of email capture programs that work alongside your squeeze pages. You will be able to focus on your marketing efforts while your email autoresponders periodically send everyone on your newly created marketing list free information on their interests and information on your products and services. This creates a more personal relationship between you and your customers, but first you need to build your list.

The Money is in the List

You might have heard others say that the "money is in the list". This is a true saying with practical implications. Let's say that you are opening up an online store. When you are first opening up shop, you will have to entice new customers to support your efforts. If you could create a method of reaching out to these customers when you need to gain their attention again, wouldn't it be easier to reach out to your existing customers, than to start all over again with new customers? Of course it would!

Connecting to your Audience

So, what can you do in order to reach out to new customers, and to make sure that they voluntarily stay loyal to you? You need to make sure that you ask for them to sign up. Make sure that your content is engaging, and exciting. Make sure that your readers understand what's in it for them if they subscribe to your list. Promise them that you won't sell their information. Relate to your readers. Make sure to build a relation with them, instead of spitting information at them.

Put yourself in the minds of the website readers. What are some things that would appeal to you, if you were the reader? What types of words would reach out to you, and make you want to buy a product? What would someone's squeeze page look like that would motivate you to subscribe to their list? When you can answer these questions, then you'll know exactly what to do in order to create a kick-butt squeeze page that converts.
