Founder and creator of Beyond Trauma Coaching, Debra Evans was originally trained and certified in two distinct coaching methods, as well as a master level coach training, by the Ford Institute for Transformational Learning--founded by acclaimed teacher and author Debbie Ford. Debra also served as Debbie's editorial assistant for three years (2005-2008), which included managing Debbie's weekly radio program, online newsletter, teleclasses, book launches, as well as her speaking and training schedule. Debra also served as editor on two of Debbie's most recent books: Why Good People Do Bad Things: How to Stop Being Your Own Worst Enemy and The 21-Day Consciousness Cleanse: A Breakthrough Program for Connecting with Your Soul's Deepest Purpose. Additionally, between 2001 and 2007, Debra assisted at numerous Shadow Process Workshops.
As national Director of Programming for WholeLife Expositions & Conferences from 1995-2001, Debra managed 39 conferences in 11 major cities throughout the US. Possessing a unique depth and breadth of knowledge of the human potential movement, Debra oversaw all aspects of the multi-platform conferences and worked with hundreds of the most beloved teachers and intrepid explorers of the past three decades, including Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Jean Houston, Wayne Dyer, John Bradshaw, George Leonard, Bernie Siegel, Caroline Myss, Andrew Harvey, Coleman Barks, Gabrielle Roth, Terence McKenna, Andrew Cohen, and David Deida.
Prior to her position with WholeLife, Debra worked for two years as an Attendant Counselor at the Boulder County Alcohol Recovery Center in Boulder, Colorado (The ARC). In conjunction with that position, Debra was a member of the ARC Speakers Bureau, addressing high school classes in the Boulder School District on the impact of growing up with an alcoholic parent. At this point in time, Debra simultaneously managed an innovative bookstore in Boulder that served as a community hub for the lively exchange of consciousness-raising ideas (and where you could sometimes spot luminaries such as Allen Ginsberg, Ken Wilber, or Linda Schierse Leonard).
Following a home invasion and violent attempted rape in 1994, Debra found herself in the firm grip of anxiety and panic. Having successfully navigated through the aftermath of that trauma, Debra documented the resources, tools, perspectives, and pathways that have provided her with the greatest relief and deepest healing. Today, combining over 20 years of unwavering focus on consciousness studies, personal development, and spiritual growth, Debra's experience has come together in the soulful new process known as Beyond Trauma Coaching.
Having discovered the enlivening benefits of eating a diet high in raw and living foods, Debra participated in Alissa Cohen's *Living on Live Food* Level 1 chef certification training in 2009. The synthesis of her life coaching skills with the raw food instructor training adds a unique elements to Debra's coaching toolkit, which she calls "deep green rejuvenation."
In addition to transformational coaching, Debra continues her work as a freelance writer and editor.
