"I didn't realize it then, but my interest in acupuncture began in 1957 when I was seven years old. I had an old wooden cigar box my grandfather had given me which I had filled with my healing tools and I carried it around saying to myself, I could cure any one of anything with these tools."
What were my tools? They were needles, alcohol, cotton balls and little stones. Stones were used in very ancient times to stimulate acu-points. What was special about this was that almost no one in the US at that time knew about Acupuncture. Now as an adult of course Acupuncture cannot heal everything, but when combined with sophisticated herbal medicine it can help probably 90% of what ails people.
I hadn't thought of this for years and I didn't remember this until I was in my second semester of study to become an Acupuncture Physician. Did this give you chills? It did me, when I remembered it. Are some people destined to do what they do?
I was always interested in healing. One of the first models I ever built as a child was that one which you may remember as the "invisible man". This was a human being whose skin was transparent so you could see all the organs. Was I a young health nerd?
Oh, then there was the chemistry set, and then, and then....
When I was a teenager my father asked me, "what do you want to do with your life?" My answer? "I'm not real sure yet, but I know I want to help other people."
After getting my BA in Psychology in 1973 I became a Medical Examiner for Social Security Disability where I got years of Western Medical Training. They used to call us "country Doctors".
Later, I began experimenting with herbs to ward off high blood pressure which my father had and for which he took Pharmaceutical medication that took its toll on him. The herb that worked for me? Garlic.
I continued my study of herbs from that point on (thousands of hours) and use them for my own and others health maintenance and restoration.
I earned a Master's degree from East West College of Natural Medicine a Nationally Acredited four year program to become a NCCAOM Board Certified Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture Physician.
My studies include all areas of Oriental medicine and acupuncture, and thorough study of Western scientific and medical course work including: Western Anatomy and Physiology, Western Pathology, Western Bio-Medical Terminology, Orthopedic Evaluation and Terminology, Clinical Nutrition, Radiology and Terminology, Lab Test Result Interpretation and Terminology, Basic Western Diagnostic Skills, and Western Pharmacology. I completed more than 2700 hours of class study, twice that number of hours of outside study and 710 hours of hands on clinical experience treating over 300 different patients with all kinds of serious health conditions.
Since I opening my own practice nearly 10 years ago, sustained primarily by referrals from satisfied patients, I have spent thousands of hours in advanced studies of Chinese individual herbs and complex herbal formulas, as well as advanced studies on acupuncture diagnostic skills and point prescription formulation.
Since then I completed training in Electro-Meridian-Imaging.
In 2002, I developed the revolutionary Somato-Spiritual-Emotional Technique (SSET) tm for healing the mind/body connection and treating Anxiety, Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
In 2007 I completed extensive training in Acupuncture/Acupressure Face Lift and Facial Rejuvenation from Dr. Zee Lo one of the foremost and most successful facial rejuvenation-acupuncture and acupuncture face lift practitioners in the country.
In 2010 I published my first book called "How To Improve Your Life And Your Health Now! Your Introductory Guide to Holistic Medicine, Holistic Healing and Oriental Medicine".
In 1978 I earned an MBA again from FSU graduating 2nd in my class, Beta Gamma Sigma. I then worked as a Defense Contract Negotiator and Manager for such Fortune 500 companies as Martin Marietta, Northrop, Litton, and Loral.
