A reaction, a look or a phrase, and we catch ourselves, “I’ve turned into my mom/dad!”
Jo-Anne Cutler is no exception. She discovered that, as a mother and role model, she had unknowingly continued behaviours that she was teaching her children; however, once she became aware of the disempowering messages that accompanied her words and reactions, she made a conscious choice to change.
Our children are waiting for us to look at how we are showing up for them and want us to hear that even the seemingly simplest of phrases like, “I’m so disappointed in you” sends such a disempowering message to them, not to mention the disapprovals, shutdowns, control and anger we project in whatever role we may play in their lives.
Awareness is the key to any change and Jo-Anne’s passion for helping children find their voice and for it to be heard ignited her vision,
To empower and inspire others to be the consciously connected parents, teachers and role models the children of this world need them to be.
Jo-Anne knew that if she could do it, anyone could which inspired her to create an audio program called Breaking the Cycle; sharing her journey to self-awareness from a yelling to peaceful mom and offering practical tools that can empower others to get connected.
As an awareness coach, author and speaker, Jo-Anne is passionately dedicated to inspire others to take that first step by building and walking the talk of self-awareness. Through personal consultations/coaching (also telephone or e-mail), seminars, workshops, articles and monthly newsletter, she empowers others to shift from disconnected habits to create the harmony that we all desire in our homes, our classrooms and in our lives, creating the opening for a new legacy for future generations to model. In addition to creating her Breaking the Cycle audio program, Jo-Anne is in pre-production of her own internet radio show called The Parent Connection. She is also the author of numerous published articles and a co-author of 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life, Vol. 2.and is in the process of publishing other books and audio programs. She lives in Toronto, Canada thoroughly enjoying teenage motherhood! |
