Having energy in life is about balance. It is about being clear and not being weighed down by thoughts, emotions. It is to let go of struggle and to remain present. Energy in life comes from connecting, from being present, and from being your true self. When we feel low our energy drops; when we are angry our energy plummets. When we seek comfort from within, connect to ourselves, we rise up.

When our children reach their teen years, they can become defiant and seem to be working against us. Why is this? Because they are trying to search out who they are, and in the process, their perception of you tends to change. This can be the hardest part; a once loving and rather obedient child transforming into someone who could care less about you. It is easy to feel defensive and respond to their remarks with anger or hostility, but this only creates more distance from you.
More than nine billion animals are raised and slaughtered for food every year in the United States. Most of these animals are kept in factory farms where livestock is confined to a very small area during its entire lifetime. These animals are fed large amounts of food to fatten them up as quickly as possible.nnFactory farming is not concerned with how the animals are treated. Its function is to produce meat for human consumption as quickly and cheaply as possible. Unfortunate
Staying present in life seems harder than it is. It is not about controlling yourself or always reminding yourself to stay present. In fact, it is the release of all of that that makes it possible. When we release ourselves, we can be present. When we let go of our ideas of control over ourselves, we enable ourselves to just be. And when we do this, there is nothing in the way of us just being us. It is the worry, the trying, the controlling, the constant anxiety attached to how we are that keeps us from being us.
So many of us in our lives wonder why things just keep happening âtoâ us. The truth is that life doesnât happen âtoâ us, it happens âthroughâ us. I mean WHATEVER happens to us in our lives is through our own creation. We create it allâ¦the good the bad and the ugly. It is our consciousness that creates our total experience in life. That is why âpositive thinkingâ works if we work it. If we constantly create positive thoughts, they will eventually turn into
As we walk through life, sometimes we fumble and lose our way; we neglect to choose the right path or follow our destiny. How do we know when this happens? We know when we find ourselves living a life that is empty and shallow of purpose and we find ourselves withdrawn from life; when we are wondering where we went wrong and if this is all there is. Do you feel regret for choices made and wish you could do them over again? Do you find yourself looking backward in time at what you should have done or what you didn’t’ do?
The idea of being a âgood personâ is just another false sense of self that we can buy into. Being a good person is not the point of spirituality, interestingly enough. It is not the goal. Itâs not about being some superloving and compassionate saint. Itâs about realizing who you really are. With this realization, you may find that you naturally become very loving and compassionate, just like the many others who have done so before throughout history, but thatâs seco

And for me taking that first step is the easiest thing in the world to. It is taking the second step, and the third step and the fourth step, step after step, day after day, even year after year, that is the hard part. I have taken so many first steps that Iâve probably completed 1,000 â1,000 mile journeysâ. But because they have all been first steps I have completed relatively little. I have just walked 1,000 little steps around and around in a circle. An uneven stagge
Letting go of a relationship, whether it is a divorce, a separation, or ending a friendship, can be a very hard moment to go through. When we let go of anything we are emotionally attached to, we tend to prolong the moment with our desire and thoughts, especially if we are not the ones wishing it to end. By being present, it can be easier. By looking back, we fall into the trap of holding onto something that no longer exists for us. It can then be an extremely trying time, both emotionally and mentally, consuming us as much as we let it, overriding other parts of our lives.
There is so much that surrounds us on a day-to-day basis that we are not aware of, nor are we aware of how these people, places and things found their way into our lives. As we build on the foundation created in the first exercise, we focus our attention on the next level of awareness: the concepts we hold. It is not enough to gain a deeper understanding of how we operate within the world. We must also begin to take stock of our currently reality before we can change it. Part

We are all truly honored to live on the Earth at this time, for we are witnessing and participating in an amazing phenomenon â the return of the energy of the Goddess to Earth. What is Goddess energy? It is a strong spiritual vibration that encompasses the principles of love, unity and the underlying interconnectedness of all that is. Goddess energy is inclusive, not exclusive; cooperative, not competitive. The ultimate purpose of Goddess energy is to teach us that we are a
The universe (life) is designed a lot differently than people believe or understand and it works in a particular way. Most of us, unfortunately, have it backwards. The Truth is quite simple, it's right, and it's not all that hard to understand. Truth #1: The goal of life is happiness Happiness. That's what we're all seeking. That's why we are all here. That's how we're made. The goal of life is happiness. That's the truth. Truth #1. Think about it. That is what you (and every
When we are in meditation, most of us experience a sense of peace and serenity that may fizzle out quickly as we return to our mundane tasks. It can be quite challenging for us to sustain that sense of peace and serenity while we are focused on meeting the demands of day-to-day, practical life. nnIt's not easy to be sensitive to your psychic senses when you're running around "like a chicken with its head cut off" (as country folks say), trying to keep up. That can make it dif
When we fall asleep we release tension, we relax and our mind slips away. We slide into another state, that of dreams and often of a very personal message to ourselves. When we look at dreams, especially recurring ones, we can see a theme. But what does it mean and how does it truly relate to you? To find this out it is important to remember that in the state of dream sleep you are not fully present, it is your subconscious that is at play. It is your subconscious then that is arising to give you a message.
Intuition is the part of yourself that is presented to guide and assist you. It is a call from within you to be listened to and believed. It is the truth of who you are reaching forward to be heard. Intuition plays many roles in its type of assistance, from small choices to important moments in our lives. If we choose to listen, we are reaching into our higher selves to connect and be heard. With the ability to follow ourselves, to do what is right for our being, we allow ourselves to become who we are fully.
We are a society of hero worshipers. But we have had a dearth of heroes in recent years. Most of our leaders, superstar athletes, movie starts, CEOâs, presidents and senators have left us disappointed, frustrated, and disillusioned. These days, we have to look beyond the glitz of Hollywood, the weak excuses of superstar athletes, and the âspinâ of politicians and CEOâs to find the true heroes. nnHistorical research shows that heroes have consistently followed the same
Finding a proper definition for spiritual enlightenment is quite hard. Expressing in words the magnitude of this inner realization that we have come to define as enlightenment, almost always fails to fully explain the conviction and experience of having that profoundly connected feeling. The idea of enlightenment is often misunderstood as a goal or a state of mind that you have to reach in order to be truly spiritual. The idea of enlightenment is multidimensional and offers u
Getting what you want in life is vital to your happiness and success. Fulfilling our desires gives us hope and helps us to strive for more in future endeavors. By accomplishing what we set out to do, we gain the courage to keep on trying and the belief that we can and will keep on succeeding. Attaining your true desires is serving your purpose in life. If your desires truly speak to you and are part of what matters most to you, then seeking out this goal is the best thing for you.
Enlightenment is a jou ey; it is a way of seeking to understand all that is important and the truth of our own being. It is a goal and at the same time a way of existing in the world. It is without trying and without finding, for it is a presence that is already within. Each of us is capable of discovering peace, happiness, and truth, if only we are able to let go long enough to see that we already exist in such a state. We exist in a realm full of creation. So much is going on endlessly around us.
Understanding the meanings of dreams is simple if you know a few underlying points. Most of these points are found in the ancient study of Huna. A book by Serge Kahili King, entitled, "Mastering Your Hidden Self" is the reference we can use for this. In that book, he has a chapter all about dreams. While he gets into how these can be interpreted as to their meaning and so on, you don’t really get to the meat of it until you learn what analysis is itself – and what huna means.
I would first like to dwell on the conditions necessary for life to exist. We have air. The plant takes out carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and replaces it with oxygen for other creatures to breath. The herbivores keep the plants in check as the predatory animals keep them in check. The predatory animals also keep themselves in check by regulating their litter to suit the amount of prey available. Too few predators too much strain on the flora as we would be overrun with grazing animals. Too many and flora would take over. You have a balanced air supply.r
Each must be free to choose his own understanding. This is the origin of freewill. It is the freedom to perceive reality, the freedom to interpret Truth in any manner you please. This is what makes Truth both constant and limitless; both Absolute and relative. If a thousand people were to look at the same light each from a different angle, each person would have a different perspective of the one thing being viewed by all. Truth is like this light. Truth is everlasting, omnip

It’s like a thunderclap cutting through the haze of yesterday’s white whine and three hours worth of Friend’s rerun.nnSo you get up… and accidentally bang your knee on the bedpost. Dark murderous thoughts fire across your neurons as you amble to the bathroom where you stub your toe.nnBam. As I am thinking about the vision I have for my business, a thought came to me. Will all the people whose life I touched show up for my funeral when I die? This might be a scary thought for some of you, but stay with me and youâll find out where Iâm going with this. On a deep level, whether we know it or not, we all want to make a difference in someoneâs life, make a difference in the world, and leave our mark on the world. I believe that the phrase âI want to change
“As the dawn began to break, I had to surrender. The universe will have its way - too powerful to master.” The Flaming Lips When you choose to take the position of the sun, you can see the earth clearly. What I mean by this is that when you step back from your-self and what you are used to – you can more easily see what works for you and what doesn’t.
So you try to do all the right things in life; you try to be present and engaged, relating to the moment, seeking truth, and yet you still feel lost and drawn away from reality. How do you stay centered even when you try? There can be many things that unbalance us and keep us from staying grounded in life. And from experience, we realize that control over ourselves does not help.
Many years ago my great grandfather told me of the persecution he experienced in Russia which led him to come to this country. He said the Cossacks would pursue him at night, when he was out teaching, and slash him with their sabers. One night he was on the hill above his village with his rabbi, the Baal Shem Tov. As they looked down they could see the Cossacks riding down and killing their Jewish brethren. They might have felt the same had they seen their loved ones being ta
Seeing the moment for what it is, is important for how we relate to it. Without construing false pretenses or imagining outcomes, we let the moment be just as it is without further interpretation. To let the moment exist how it is, to be present with it, allows us to not only fully experience it, but to be part of it. We create a separation from our reality when we pull ourselves into our heads; our thoughts destroy our interaction with it. We become someone who is relating by memory, with fear of the outcome, or are simply too lost in thought to be present.
You alone could be the catalyst for entire global transformation. How is this possible, I hear you ask. Well here is a charming true story about social change, entitled "The 100th Monkey" that illustrates how a single individual in a fringe group could affect worldwide reform. ______ THE PROBLEM ______ The Japanese monkey, Macaca Fuscata, an endangered species, had been observed in the wild for a period of over 30 years. Its dwindling colonies were at risk of starving to dea
The church is in trouble. You’ve heard people say it, and it may be true. But it seems every modern religious organization, regardless of its composition, economic situation, or the quality of its ministers, is subject to immense criticism these days... And it’s really unfortunate when the Sunday service is condemned by the congregation on the front steps of the church!nnOn July 9th 2007 by a writer named MadMonk on WonderCafe.ca, started a discussion entitled
How do you create a new friendship and find someone who fits you and connects with you? It can feel hard, for if your job doesn’t provide that kind of openness or availability with others, then where do you look? Begin by finding a way to do what you like. If you are doing what you love, you open the door to finding others who like what you do. Hang out in situations that reflect the real you. Join a program or a club that fits who you are and that you enjoy. If you do not have time or energy for too much, then set aside even one day a week to find something you enjoy and do it.
As a student of spiritual practices for over thirty years as well as being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I have found that for myself as well as the people I have counseled, the most effective healing has occurred when clients are able to not only focus on positive thought, but more so on emotions and feelings. nnOne of the important things to remember is that our thinking processes are so complex it can be very difficult to maintain control over all of the thoughts our

Gaining knowledge about your past life can be very insightful. It can show you things about yourself and why they are there. It can lift you up. For seeing who you were and what you did gives you strength. Your strengths now, who you are today, often reflect the purpose of your lives back then. What you learned, what you gained from each life, carries forward.
It starts as tightness in the upper solar plexus. Then it starts to droop like the top of an ice cream cone on a hundred-degree day, eventually melting over everything to form a vague coating of ambivalence. Sometimes it matures into hopelessness and, for some, even depression. The "it" is the yearning for meaning. And it can swallow you whole.nnI started to feel it in my twenties as I struggled to cling to my dream of being a Broadway star while entering what would be my sev
Our energy levels change constantly, and they can be a reminder of how we are doing internally. If we look at how we feel and how much energy we have, it often correlates because how we are feeling or thinking about something can consume and also regulate the flow of energy that is available to us. Your emotional or mental state often determines how much energy you will have physically. If you are overwhelmed emotionally or mentally, your energy will often become depleted.
We often look at the world as something to be gotten into, to find our place and where we fit. We search until we feel comfortable, stable and right with our place, but sometimes things change. Our group of friends may evolve; we might move or find ourselves just looking again. How do you fit in, find the place in this world for you? People can be guarded, cliquish, and unaccepting of others. How do you reach into a group and find out what holds you there? If you can reach out just a little past your comfort zone to find others, this will help.
MONDAY MOTIVATIONS © Getting Beyond Barriers, Incrnwww.GettingBeyondBarriers.orgrnMonday February 13, 2012 rnEVERYONE HAS THEIR FIGHT Our cultural backgrounds, familial status and upbringings may have been different, but each of us has our own fight. Your Life Purpose! What is it and is it worth Pursuing?nnAs a small boy I used to go to a place on a hill far from my humble home. This soon became my special place where I could think and be alone as I sat on the edge of the cliff under a beautiful well shaped tree and gazed in awe at the clouds as they drifted across the sky.nI sought and found this special place after the tragic school picnic drowning of my sister when I was eleven she was 13. I went into a period of quest
Spiritual Awakening is the death of the old self in order to reveal more of your true self. Itâs not so much about becoming a new version of yourself. Itâs more about shedding away the years of conditioning and belief systems that were never aligned with your soul to begin with. Itâs discarding what has never been in alignment with you in order for your real self to shine through. Once we are born, the conditioning of our psyches begins. rnWe are inundated with perspect
When we wake up in the morning, where do our thoughts go? Do they run to the things we have to do? Are they filled with memories of yesterday and worries for tomorrow? How we think and feel when we wake up has a lot to do with how we will perceive the day. If we can relax our mind in those waking moments, we will give ourselves time to wake up in a more natural way. If we forgo the thoughts of moments passed and those to come, we will remain present as we wake up.
Being in the moment is about releasing everything, the purpose of this being that you then exist with nothing pulling at you. Therefore, there is openness, a clear space to be with no ulterior distractions. No pull forward or backward, but simply being present with where you are. There are many levels to this and even more ways to look at it. But the simplest approach is to be with an open heart and open mind, and then you are free to feel and think where you are.
We all know what it is like to be afraid, hesitant, and unsure in our lives. Worried about outcomes or afraid of the past, it can be everywhere we look. Yet it is not real, it is not a true factor in our lives. We give it so much meaning and power. Fear is really a belief that we will fail, that something will go wrong. It is looking ahead without freedom from your past. It is seeing your life through eyes of pain, leading you to need protection from your own life. Fear is a basic trait learned, unfortunately, at an early age.
The benefits of a Spiritual life are far too many! rnSpiritual life means a life lived with a purpose to progress on the path that leads to ultimate liberation. Ultimate liberation is when one attains freedom from the cycle of birth and rebirth; and until the liberation happens, while leading a spiritual life, one yields numerous benefits in the worldly life too. It brings about positive attitude, optimistic outlook and high self-esteem, and results in harmonious relationship
Yes, since the middle of May we have been in the middle of a great purging and cleansing. For a while, I thought I was having a personal spiritual experience, however I am now seeing that most of us are going through this great cleansing. It is sooo purifying that it may be like we have completely new selves. From now up until June 21 and after of course all the old energies are releasing and we are pulling in new higher frequency and purified energies. It may feel like we h
