Overwhelmedr Moving from ‘Overwhelm’ to Satisfaction I found myself in overwhelm once, when I had a legal problem I knew nothing about, a friend coming to stay for a week, a deadline with a proposal for a company I had never worked for before, and a social event to attend that evening and had not picked up my dress from the dry cleaners. And the local schizophrenic had been causing trouble again! It was tough. It reminded me of year end when accounts have to be done, plans or

Get your hands in the air…The Weekend is Here!! If you don’t know how much I LOVE weekends then you don’t know me…AT ALL. Weekends are my time to recharge the batteries, annoy my the family and get intimate with my creative side. Now, I typically don’t recommend working on the weekends. That’s a major no-no. But, sometimes the “itch” to do something work related can’t be ignored. Before the end of the day, you just gotta scratch it. And scratch it I do, however, my work ethic on the weekend is wildly different than that of the work week.
I recently read Peter Bregman’s book “4 Seconds – All the Time You Need to Stop Counter-Productive Habits and Get the Results You Want.” The section on accepting criticism was particularly helpful.
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” Dr. Seuss Do you stand out, or are you busy trying to fit in? Do you focus on how to make a positive difference in the world? Or is your focus on being accepted? ADHD comes with being different. Everyone has things they do well…and not so well. The key is to maximize those things that make us unique, different, one-of-a-kind thinkers and doers. People who are most memorable are those who are different enough to stand out, not fit in.
This sounds a little strange but having the right people doing the right jobs can have a powerful impact on your bottom line and how effective you and your organization is in getting the job done. Right now I’m personally caught in the classic dilemma of starting a new business and having to be very careful how and where I spend my time. I would like to do everything but know that is not possible. I have to parcel out the duties in the organization based on who is best quali
Most would think that with the advent of technology, all the new gadgets and devices, we would drastically free up tons of time! Our productivity may certainly have increased but managing time is still the elusive goal. I doubt there are many people who can claim that they don’t know what it feels like to be utterly stressed out or so overwhelmed you can`t make sense of anything – all due to a lack of time.r

The bottom line is any skill, tool or strategy you have at your disposal is only as good as the degree to which you FOLLOW THROUGH and use it. Otherwise, it is merely intellectual entertainment. And I have found that this is hands down the determining factor that separates those individuals who create tremendous results versus those who never seem to quite get there.nnIâd like to share what I believe to be the single most important distinction you can make in improving the

Sometimes itâs hard to work efficiently when distractions like endless email clutter, chats and conversations, or funny YouTube videos get in the way: we cannot concentrate, we forget the important, getting stuck in what clearly isnât. Our self-control alone is often not enough to break cyberloafing habits or prioritize our communications wisely, so thatâs why it might be worth taking a look at special productivity tools. Itâs obviously much easier to quit scrolling t
There are many discusses of whether productivity just means labor productivity or not. This is considered widely as the measure of output products which are produced in an hour of labor. And multi-factor productivity is broader than labor productivity. While labor productivity is more likely to focus on just manufacturing than services, on the other side multi-factor productivity may take the computation some levels up. Since productivity is known as one of the indicators o
Typically businesses will create lots of paperwork, and keeping that under control can be a big job. Often paperwork issues within an organisation will go unnoticed. Today I’m talking about time and how to use it for your business. Time management is essential for business, but it’s also a very personal thing, so before we talk about what you’re going to do with the time, let’s find the time you’re going to work with. Get a notebook or a new document on your computer and think about wach day of the week and your commitments (don’t forget to leave time for house chores, walking your dog, hobbies and anything else you do every day without really thinking about it).

For the purpose of applying machine-readable characters to a card for a long time, plastic card embossing is the only possible way. Out on a run…WHAM! In the shower…POW! Washing the dishes…BANG! On the toilet…BOOM! Creativity often slaps you upside the head like a villain from a 60’s Batman television episode when you least expect it...SMACK! It was reported that Einstein would sit in the bathtub for hours until inspiration hit. Based upon my own personal experience and study of the topic, creativity happens between our thoughts. It may come when you are actively thinking, but it is usually during the
It's easy to let your weekends slip on by without accomplishing a single task. Thinking can… * anticipate obstacles * prioritize actions * solve some problems in advance * help us navigate life well * and about a billion other things.

A bespoke suit is a suit that is cut and fitted right on the premises, and requires a number of fittings and a substantial financial investment. Bespoke tailoring is a craft that takes decades to become a master at, and these tailors make creating a tailor fitted suit or shirt a thing of art and beauty. The most famous place in the entire world to find a bespoke suit and bespoke tailoring would be Savile Row, in Mayfair, London, and the rich and royalty have frequented these
Do you have a huge challenge coping with the incoming paperwork? (Whatever happened to the paperless office?) Paperwork lands on your desk and somehow finds its way into your in-tray. Eventually the in-tray becomes so high it explodes and ends up all over your desktop. That’s because you avoided taking action on those messy pieces of paper the moment they arrived. Now you have no option but to sort through the explosion and tidy up the pile or actually do something with the paperwork. How can a pile (or piles) of paper cause you so much stress?
Motivation and productivity are two interrelated concepts, the latter fuels the former and the former is the ending result of the latter. Productivity is a measure of performance to show how effective an organization can turn its resources into products (or services) intended. Measure Productivity is known as a relative measure despite its many forms, since being used for comparing the effectiveness of many different entities. These may be individuals, countries or organiz
It is TOO easy to plunk files into a filing cabinet just to get them out of sight. Maybe you’ve done this… if you have, then you know what I’m talking about…and you also know what happens when you continually do this for many years. You end up with an overstuffed, under-utilized, scary looking ...
What are your biggest fears in life, those that are stopping you from moving forward? What would it mean to you if you knew how to successfully overcome those fears? In my previous article, we looked at what fear is, the difference between real and imagined fear and what that means for you. What I am going to do today is show you how you can overcome your fears, now that you understand that your fears don’t need to hold you back.
Beware of Charlie-Down-the-Block. Charlie is the (generic) person in your new client's life that tells them they are making a mistake doing business with you. Charlie-Down-the-Block is not a particular individual, but the person who ALWAYS knows better than you what is best for your prospective client. Be particularly aware of Charlie if there is a time gap between the prospect saying "yes" to working with you and the implementation of the program or project. Charlie knows just what your prospect should do at any given moment about just about anything.
When I wake up in the morning, I generally have a huge, mental list of a dozen or so big tasks I want to accomplish in the day. But, more often than not, I donât accomplish all of those things. We all want to have more time, more time to do what we want to and be with those we love. This means, having time to do the things you love in life, to do the things you want to and not only the things you need to, which is the key to feeling fulfilled. It is certainly not easy though, and for most, having more time will always remain the elusive dream. What you do with your time and how you use your time directly influences the results you are experiencing in life at the moment.

Productivity turns into a vague concept when speaking of jobs in the technology environment. Programming is one of the areas where productivity is really hard to measure and manage: a developerâs productivity cannot be measured in trivial figures like lines of code. There are various opinions about how to handle it and many management approaches, but in any case, adopting special productivity tools for developers is a great way to improve teamâs results. Alongside with th
Mary is a typical small business owner, she keeps herself busy doing the ‘hands on’ work. In her case it is doing beauty treatments and she told me she keeps doing this because she really enjoys it. Her clients constantly told her how great she was, which made her feel appreciated. However it trapped her into staying ‘on the tools’. Mary had 5 people on her team, and she struggled with letting them handle her clients. She also complained that it was challenging finding competent people.

Every one of us is 'bestowed' with creative intelligence that for the most part is under utilized due to other responsibilities and busy lifestyles. This is not to make excuses for the under-utilization of our creative skills but merely an exclamation as to why they are not used more often. Think about what you did first thing when you landed at your desk this morning. I’m guessing you checked email, right? The scenario usually goes like this. You have a loose plan for the day in your head or on paper, you get into work, turn on the computer and start clicking away on email. Before you know it, its 10 am, you are pulled into all sorts of new ideas, problems, and issues and you haven’t gotten to any of YOUR priorities of the day.
