Keeping a good stock of lemons on hand can be your ticket to vibrant health. Squeeze a little lemon in your water for surprising health benefits year round.

Over a hundred years ago it was noted in a respected medical journal that drinking one Lemon Squash (lemon squeezed in water) every day would keep you healthy.

Actually, one of the simplest things you can do on a daily basis to alkalize your body is drink clean water with a squeeze of lemon in it. Although lemons are acidic, they have an alkalizing effect in the body. That’s a really good thing too.

It’s critical to maintain balanced pH levels to ensure optimal health. The human body can only survive in a very narrow pH range and thrives in an even narrower range.

Unfortunately, much of what ends up in our bodies these days has an acid forming effect. Not only our food choices (i.e. red meats, white flour and sugar, coffee, etc.) but also most manufactured medicines, all pollution, life-depleting emotions like anger, fear, and shame, and so much more. With all this stacking the odds against us, it’s that much more important to consume alkalizing foods.

Replacing sweetened and processed drinks with lemon water has the double benefit of eliminating the acidic drink and including an ultra-alkalizing alternative. If you're going to make lemonade rather than just add a squeeze of lemon to your clean water, keep in mind that most sweeteners are acidic and will reduce the benefits available.

I wish I knew the importance of alkalizing a long time ago! I’m surprised how few people know just how important it truly is. Learning this one thing has changed my life in so many ways.

I’ve had unexplained aches and pains all my life, I’ve been tired beyond reason, I’ve tried unsuccessfully to lose weight (it always found me again), and I’ve had dermatitis on my hands for years. All that has changed since I began eating more alkalizing foods and stopped consuming so many acid forming foods and drinks.

I did some research and created a list of alkalizing foods. Now I just eat and drink mostly from my alkalizing food list. I don’t eat strictly just from the list but as long as I eat mostly from the list I feel great and continue to lose weight.

My life has changed so much in a few short months I just keep wondering why I never learned this sooner. All my aches and pains are gone! For the first time in forty years I don’t hurt, not even around my period!

I have energy for the first time in my life. I’ve even started going to the gym and walking on a regular basis. I’ve tried to do this many times in the past but I always hurt too much and got too tired. Not this time!

My weight is finally coming off easily and consistently and I get to eat great food all the time. Now, unlike every other time I’ve tried to lose weight, I’m eating as much as I want, whenever I want and loving every minute of it. I also love that I don’t have to count calories, or carbs, or grams, or anything.

The skin on my hands is completely healed and my hands look the youngest they’ve looked in years. In fact, all my skin looks great and I’ve noticed that nicks and scrapes I get in the garden heal so fast I can practically watch them disappear. That has never been the case before.

I’ve shared my list of alkalizing foods with friends and they’re getting great results too. I’m having fun creating great recipes too. It’s amazing how many great tasting foods are alkalizing or neutral.

Of course the simplest alkalizing recipe is just adding lemon juice to clean water. It’s portable, readily accessible at most restuarants, and lemons are available year-round all over the world. It’s one of nature’s perfect foods.
