It’s occurred to me several times that we don’t have enough hours in the day to finish all the jobs we have. We take the job home with us. After all, we are the embodiment of what we do. Create a fantasy. Smash up against reality. We think up complex games, contest ideas, promotional ideas, FCC compliance ideas and more. Simply put, our minds are taxed beyond belief. Regular folk who know I’m in radio say: “It must be crazy being “on” all the time!” Well, for me it used to be that way, but not anymore. You see I’m a cancer survivor. Cancer has been my greatest teacher. Being a survivor has taught me more about life than I ever knew. One thing in particular that comes to mind is how you treat the most important person in life. You. So, what do I mean?

It pays to have the right outlook. If you are not happy about what you are doing, then you need to figure out why you aren’t happy. We all have pressure to perform. What make you any different? If you aren’t lovin’ every day, then you’ll need to figure this our first.

Do what is difficult first. If you can, the rest is easy. The “universe” keeps everything in balance and if you’re out of balance, the “universe” will let you know. It’s harsh when it happens. So, what’s been bothering you lately? Attack the thing that is bothering you the most. It’s using up precious resources. If your car is running rough, bring it to the mechanic. Do the same for you!

You have more time than you possibly know. It may seem like you don’t have enough time to finish tasks, but if you become aware of the value of a second, minute, hour, day, week… then you can see how much time you really have. It’s nothing short of amazing when you make this breakthrough.

Treat others as you wish to be treated! If you plant radishes in the garden, don’t expect to harvest potatoes. It’s nature’s way. If you treat people like crap, then you’ll get a LOT of fertilizer in return. Don’t believe me? Try it!

Don’t blame others for your problems! That’s the world’s biggest excuse. If you have a problem, you created it in the first place to learn a lesson. Your world is a big mirror of your existence. What is being screamed at you that you can’t hear?

Don’t blame yourself for your problems! Huh? How many times have you said to yourself “That was really stupid!” You need to understand you are perfect as you are. You need nothing more. If you don’t know how to create a vaccine for AIDS, it’s because you’re stupid right? Nope, you just don’t have the skill set necessary for the job. Your life isn’t any different. What skill set do you need?

All these things relate to everyday life. As a cancer survivor I can tell you that they are critically important, and unimportant at the very same time. If you aren’t kind to yourself, you can’t possibly be kind to others. If you don’t love yourself unconditionally, you can’t love others. If you don’t have time for yourself, you can’t possibly have time for others…..

AND……

You have more time than you think!

Have a great day!
