Have you ever heard people talk about men and relationships, and how they don’t mix? I have. People tend to generalize how men and relationships don’t belong in a sentence together, but I disagree. There are some men who are ready to commit to women, and these men are the ones who are worth keeping.

Bridging men and relationships

When exactly does a guy say “I’m ready”? While it’s difficult to gauge the exact age a man is most likely to commit, it’s safe to say that most men will commit when they have reached their goals (career, lifestyle etc.). For example, there was this guy who said “I will only commit when I’ve dated 50 women”. That’s his goal. Another might say, “I will only commit when I get my first million.”

Most women commit readily when the urge to have babies come. Unfortunately, some men don’t share that mating instinct. Men and relationships can only be understood if we discussed them separately, and tried to find a connection.

When men were still boys, they were taught to be ambitious. They were also taught to improve themselves before they even thought of having a family. There are some men who took this advice to heart and never became satisfied with their success. They want bigger dreams when they reach the smaller ones. These men were also taught to play the game of love early on. They pursued women for the sake of pursuing. Some men never moved on from that phase and preferred to stay there until they reach their sixties.

There are, of course, some dangerous men who can’t handle relationships because they aren’t capable of maintaining relationships. These men are not stable psychologically and would rather not deal with women on the emotional level. How can you tell if the man you love belongs to this type? There are simple things to consider:
• He yells at you for nothing and he argues with you over trivial things.
• He stalks you and won’t let you go out with other people (even if he won’t commit to you)
• He doesn’t think it’s wrong for him to cheat, but will punish you physically if you do.
• He’s cruel.

Men and relationships are not like water and oil; they can mix. However, the man must be able to handle the thought of commitment first before he even started building a relationship with anyone. Usually, men who have emotional problems want to be alone. They will only date women for physical relationship, and sometimes, they won’t even go out of their way to woo women to bed. They simply pay for gratification.

Some men enter relationships for security, some for love and some for physical relationship. The best type of man puts family above everyone and everything else. Usually, this latter type is rare, and those men who show these qualities are already taken.
