Dr. Suzy Thompson graduated from Texas A&M University with a Masters in Gifted & Talented Learners and a Doctorate in Intelligence, Creativity, and Giftedness. She has taught college courses for both undergraduate and graduate students since 2004, and she volunteers and has worked with hundreds of gifted, talented, and creative teenagers since 2003. Dr. Thompson is also a certified Christ-based Counselor for women ages 14 years and into adulthood. She has presented at regional and statewide gifted and talented conferences for both parents and teachers with the Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented and at National and International Conferences with the American Creativity Association. Dr. Thompson's latest project, a book for parents of gifted and talented children K-12th,is currently in press and will be available in May of 2014. The book is titled: Understanding Giftedness: A Practical Guide for Parents.
Her passion is to help gifted, talented, and creative children become the Masterpieces they were designed to become by helping their caregivers (parents, teachers, counselors, and other guardians) understand the unique and fascinating development, mindsets, and personalities that gifted, talented, and creative individuals posses. Dr. Thompson uses her expertise as a qualitative researcher and her gift of teaching to explain a variety of topics about intelligence and creativity to her audiences in a format that is informative, practical, humorous, and fun. Her audience will leave the presentation with a renewed sense of understanding and great ideas to implement at home with their gifted, talented, and/or creative children.
