The holiday's are hard for those missing their loved ones, so I wrote this to ease your soul.
Come walk with me dear child, just for a little while. You see, you haven’t been yourself, I can see it in your eyes. What use to be a caring soul has turned just a little-bit colder? Your bright smile always lit up a room, it’s been awhile. You don’t have to say anything, just let me speak my mind.r
When jealousy rears its nasty head, it is not a good thing. It’s not fun, but it does go to show you how many levels there are in this life. When someone looks a certain way, maybe you use to look like that, or you want to look like that. It should be motivational if you don’t look like the way you see someone else look. Instead of trashing the other person, or starting rumors about why she looks good, or being deliberately mean to her; why you don’t look at yourself and think, hey she did it, I know I can too. But this would mean making too many changes that you are not willing to make.
Everything in life is meant to awaken our sense of being. Every situation that we bear witness to is meant to awaken our true meaning. We are not to pass judgement on these circumstances but to absorb the true meaning of it. Judgment clouds our openness and attaches us to the situation. When havoc reeks around me I remain with a calm spirit. I am not attached to the havoc nor do I partake in it. I go where my spirit is lifted by the beautiful souls of others or the breathtaking scenery of our lands. I remain in the powerful knowledge of who I am.r
As we grow our wants and needs change. What suited us in our 20’s and 30’s will not suffice for us in our 50’s or 70’s. We live in an elaborate world, with some of the most beautiful places, the best restaurants, and some of the finest boutiques.
Appreciate where you are in this moment, because in a blink of an eye, a new moment is upon you. Some will move up in life while others will slide down. Others will move laterally while some will try hard just to hold steady. All you can do is be grateful, with each and every breath you take, be grateful. You don’t have to have much, just be grateful. Appreciate the people you see today, the people you see no more, just be grateful to have known them.r
To sit in silence is to relax and just breathe. No time constraints, no rubbish to listen to. You feel your own heartbeat thumping. You feel your diaphragm contract and expand with every breath you take. You clear your mind of all things. Relax and let your mind go.
We have all heard from them at one point in our lives or another. You know the ones that think that they are above all others. You know the ones that think that you don’t have a right to succeed if they aren’t. They are the jealous ones; the haters.
I have always admired those who always knew what they wanted to do with their life. Some people knew the exact career they wanted to pursue, while others knew the kind of man they wanted to marry, and how many children they wanted to have.
When you are comfortable with yourself you release all expectations of others. I say this in part because Valentine’s Day is approaching and there will be many hearts that get broken because they expect others to fulfill their wishes. There is an easy evaluation of this. If you squeeze a bunch of lemons you cannot be shocked when they produce lemon juice. The same generalization applies to expectations of love. If you are with someone who does not feel love, or know how to love, you cannot be surprised when he does not know how to show it.
We all have opened up a door or two that should have stayed closed. It’s equivalent to dating an old boyfriend/girlfriend, the feelings just aren’t the same. This happens because the energy’s do not mix well.
To just be means that you appreciate the moment for what it is. What does it mean to just be? It means to surrender. You have to learn how to just let go and surrender the moment for whatever it is meant to be. We are so busy doing things that it is hard to surrender. When you surrender you acknowledge that you cannot control everything. By surrendering you are acknowledging your smallness. There is this great big world with billions of people, other animals, and other planets. You realize that you are but a speck on this great thing we call earth.r
What is being done today effects all of our tomorrows. I say this with joy and a newfound respect for what others do. It is behind closed doors that plans are being made to help others. It is a place where fund-raisers are being organized, budgets are discussed and new programs are being drawn up.r
Whatever you have gone through or are currently going through, it is very important for you to know that you are not alone. No matter how devastated you feel, you will get through it. When you feel that you can’t take it anymore, you have to realize that you do have options. You have to talk to somebody to help you figure a way through it.
Our vibration level changes with the energy that surrounds us. Everything has energy; the past, present and future all have energy of their own. You choose what type of energy you bring forth from an event. For an example, let’s look at a hurtful experience as a bucket full of water. A sponge represents you. Each and every time you go back to the past and re-live your experience you are putting that sponge in a bucket full of water and carrying it with you. Now, wring out that sponge, this symbolizes releasing all the negativity associated with the event.
Reinventing yourself is not about getting rid of old ways and ideas. It is about taking away what you need from them; heartbreak, sadness, being stepped on and lied to, and creating a brand new person who sees their self a lot more clearly. The energy around a situation or circumstance is either positive or negative and it is fueled by how you feel about it. It is so important to realize what moves you forward out of a bad situation and helps you to evolve into a positive state.r
Sometimes our busy schedule does not allow us to sit and think about how life works because we are too busy living it. There is a natural flow to life; it is about our energy, the energy that surrounds us and that which we choose to absorb.r
What is it that is stressing you? What do you do to reduce your stress level? There are two types of levels that can stress you, world issues and personal issues. The world issues are things that happen all over the world, they can be war, devastation brought on by Mother Nature or economic issues. Personal issues are things that happen to you directly.r
You taught me to think about the ramifications of my actions, before I do them. You have taught me so many things throughout my lifetime that the list would be too long. But more importantly than the things you taught me, was the way you made me feel. You made me feel loved, and it is that love that gave me my self-confidence. You have taught me to not only tell the truth, but to be honest with myself as well.
I wish you love, peace and joy. I want to throw in some strength, comfort, and warmth to help you on your journey through life. I also wish you tende ess and hugs, when life gets cold and your struggles get rough. I wish you a trinket box full of all your fondest memories, to call upon when you need someone close. I would also like to give you the world’s biggest hug, so you have one during your joys and pain. Through all your triumphs and heartaches, just know that it is there. I wish for you, patience when you need it the most.r
Embrace who you are as there is only one you. Embrace all of the endless possibilities that each new day brings. Embrace chance meetings and other unexplainable events. Embrace change and all of the events that take place because of that change. Embrace love, regardless if it is for the moment or if it’s for a lifetime. Embrace nature and all the wonder that it holds. Embrace all animals for they see things that we don’t. Embrace innocence as it doesn’t last a lifetime. Embrace romance as it feeds the soul. Embrace stability as it is never promised.
You are who you are at this very moment. Even though you have grown and continue to grow, you will notice that your circle has changed. Some people only see the old you, that’s the only person they have known. But instead of wasting all of your energy trying to change their perception of you, focus on just being you.r
This article is a chance to reflect on your answers. There are millions of people that walk our busy streets; many are right next to you. Do you take the time to notice them? If I was crying, what would you do? Would you carry on about your business or would you care to find out why? If I was lost and all alone would you help me or walk by like you never saw me? If I was broke and living on the streets, would you feed me or leave me all alone? If I was using drugs would you pretend you didn’t see me, help me, or just walk away?r
In your memory I choose to see what you have tried so hard for me to see. It is in your memory that I choose to take love, honor and respect to a whole new level. I am trying the best that I can and I walk strong, in your memory. For all the times I just wanted to cry, you made me laugh. When my heart was broken, my memory of you is filled with love and understanding. You taught me that age is just a number and you are never too old to act silly and laugh at yourself.
Contentment-a state of happiness and satisfaction. Comfort-a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint. Life is a continuous state of being in any particular moment. The moments flee with the blink of an eye. When the world around us seems like it has gone crazy, yet you remain with a feeling of contentment and comfort. This feeling assures us that whatever happens, you have peace within.
Re-create who you once were and say goodbye to what once was. If you live with uncertainty or have had troubles in your past, change those events. You have to re-create those events and turn them into lessons. Turn those lessons into positives events that will mold you into the person you want to become. Take that lesson; be it trust, relationships, guilt, or whatever it is, and learn from it. Don’t carry the situation with you because it will manifest itself in others and you will relive the same lessons.
Our connections through relationships are so important. Sometimes we get so busy that we intend on calling that special someone, or taking them to lunch, but before you know it’s the weekend and you have a full agenda. It is easy to sit back and claim that this one didn’t return your call, or this one didn’t do this or that one didn’t do that. Well, you get my point. Life is a two way street, but there are other factors that are not in that equation as well.r
Sometimes, when you hear devastating news about someone you love, you know what you feel in your heart, but the right words don’t come forth or they just don’t sound right or the wrong words are spoken. If this happens, don’t despair. It is not a relationship that is now lost. Look at it as if a window had been left open for love, compassion and forgiveness to enter.r
You can let your inner light shine by not succumbing to fear. Fear can paralyze you. Fear can also make you do some crazy things. Never let fear consume you. Fear to take a step forward, stay where you are or take a step backwards is unhealthy. I wrote this because there are so many who are trapped by fear; afraid to go out of their house, afraid to drive a car or a different type of fear.r
We only know what we know, until we reach the point we long to know more. We only act a certain way until we realize that our actions are not gaining us any ground. We are always eager to speak, always longing to be heard; until we realize how important it is, just to listen. We will only teach our young so many lessons, as we understand they have their own lessons to learn. We live, we love, and we accept, and when others fall short we revert back to where we started from, or we can grow past them.r
When you are in the middle of a crisis, your mind rushes in with all different scenarios on how to handle the situation. Besides praying, meditating and worrying, it all boils down to you having faith in yourself. Just believing in yourself and knowing that you are capable of doing the very best in any situation is sometimes all that you need. Having a strong sense of faith in yourself is not only the best thing for you, but it carries on to others as well. The confidence that you exude will be remembered and is a trait that others will learn from you.r
As our New Year approaches, we reflect back on 2015. It was a year full of good and bad, one will outweigh the other depending upon who you ask. Some of us have attained our goals while others dare to dream. May the New Year give you the courage and strength to pursue all of your dreams and overcome any obstacles you may face.r
Dare yourself to dream. No matter how big or how small, just dream. Dream about where you want to go in life. Dream about doing what it is that you wish to do. Dream of a world the way you wish it was. Don’t be afraid to dream, let your imagination take you away. No place is to far nor too near. Once you dream of how you want things to be, the universe will help you make your dream come true. Of course you will have to do work on your part to make it happen as well. Dream not only about material things, but about harmony and well wishes to everyone.
The human body is so unique. It is amazing how each cell and organ work together to make us function. I wish to point out three things which strike me the most; the voice, the brain and the hands.r
I have to admit that I struggled writing this article, it is very personal to me. My struggles weren’t with myself, but in knowing that others are struggling and fighting for their lives at this very moment. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am a survivor of both. My heart goes out to all the men and women that are affected by these. One day there will be a cure for breast cancer and one day there will be an end to the violence against women and children.r
A simple phrase, but sometimes it is very hard to maintain. Peace is a state of mind, of simply being. Somedays it is hard to reach that harmony with mind, body and spirit to simply be at peace. Think about it for a moment. For the mind not to worry or be stressed, the soul to be in complete harmony and your body not to feel unrest, now that it hard to attain, but it is attainable. You just have to figure out what works for you and what doesn’t, that takes time and dedication for you to tune into yourself.r
We live our lives grabbing every moment of happiness that we can. We cling to the fabulous moments and pray to get through the tough times. We enjoy the company of those who surround us in good times and bad. We treasure those relationships that are far away and strive to keep the communication going.r
There are only so many hours in a day. You work 40-50 hours a week and that leaves very little time for you let alone time for the important conversations that need to be had. In between dropping off the kids at football practice, soccer practice, gymnastics, volleyball, etc, there’s the grocery shopping, the dry cleaning and of course cooking and laundry!r
Take a good look at yourself. Accept yourself as you are in this moment. What you might feel are flaws, are not. They make up who you truly are. Regardless if you are tired and weary or if you are rambunctious and a go-getter, it is who you are. Accept your strengths and weaknesses. Accept the things that you long to learn and improve upon them. Rich or poor, come as you are. Know that you have no limitations except the ones that you put upon yourself. Be comfortable in your own skin. Learn to listen to your own voice of reason and drown out all doubt that others might speak.r
When all else fails, hope is something that we cling to. It is a beacon that calls us at our highest and lowest moments in life. We share in the hope of others as well. At the final moment of despair, after you shed your last teardrop, you muster up hope. Within you, you find the courage and the strength to get back up. Something is different when you arise; it is a new hope that has sprung alive. You muster up the courage to pull your thoughts together and look at things with a new perspective, one that will create a new avenue for you to go down.r
We are a society that is filled with attachments. We love our technology; we have to feel connected to the rest of the world at all times. When we try to evolve ourselves we learn to release. Sometimes when we release one thing, we become attached to something else. You also have to stop and ask yourself; is this device helping my life or hindering it? Is (name whatever it is) consuming all of my time and energy?r
When you worry, it uses up so much energy. Too much worrying paralyzes your ability to move forward. Think of worrying as a big black bottomless pit. Each time you worry about something, you take another step down into this pit. It is up to you how much time you spend there. Everyone worries about something at one time or another. To help you see the effects of worrying, please check out these important links: http://www.webmd.com/balance/guide/how-worrying-affects-your-body & http://www.statisticbrain.com/fear-phobia-statistics/ andr
Some of us are more sensitive than others. What bothers one may have a profound effect on another. I am speaking about someone who is sensitive to others’ needs. I am speaking of humanitarians, volunteers or someone who generally feels the pain or needs of others. I am speaking of scientist and doctors who want to cure and solve. I am not referring to nor speaking about a hypersensitive person.r
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but in light of all the recent publicity I decided to write about it now. A few years back I wrote a 4 part series, you can go to Blogs and then Domestic Violence to find the articles, they are broken down by the following categories: The Abuser, The Victim, Friends and Family and Starting Over.r
Just the word Christmas can warm your heart and put a smile on your face. For some it is a time of year that they have come to dread. It is the loneliest time of year for many, and a joyous time for many more. But the true meaning of Christmas is not about what lies under the Christmas tree or even the fact if you have one or not, it is what is in your heart.r
You take two steps forward and then something happened leaving you feeling like you have taken a giant step backwards, don’t give up. If you have tried something numerous times and have gained no ground, don’t give up hope. On some days it might feel like you are spinning your wheels, like you are stuck in the snow. We all have been there at some point in our lives.
We all hold others in high regard. When we give all of our love and devotion, we expect others to live up to the same expectations. When we call others to catch up or to show our concern, we expect the same when we are going through things as well. When we reach out, you shouldn’t have any expectations of anything in return. When we love, we give of that love freely with no expectations of receiving love in return.r
During our most intense moments in life we reach for a hand to hold. As we sit and wait for the doctor to come and speak to us, as we wait for results, as we watch someone attain their goals, we reach for another soul. Through the joys and pains, the excitement and tears we hold on to another to share in those moments. We share in the compassion of how precious life is. Waiting on news is one of the most trying of times. The wait wreaks havoc on the nerves and nothing eases that like the touch of another human being.r
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month Why would you care, when I don’t? Why would you go that extra mile, when I wouldn’t? Why would you waste your time on me, when I wouldn’t for you? Why do you try to get inside me, when I wouldn’t? What you are trying so hard to see, I’m trying so hard to cover! Why don’t you just let me be? You ask me a question and you know I’m smart. I see that look on your face, you know there’s hope. Are you going to spend every second of your day teaching me and keeping me safe? You don’t understand life changes by the stroke of the hand.
All that you will ever be resides in your hands. It does not lie in the person next to you, down the street or anyone else around you. People, places and things might help to influence what you want to do in your life, but it is ultimately up to you. All that you will ever be does not lie in yesterday’s experiences, it lies in your tomorrows. What one person says or does is on their shoulders, it is not to be rested on yours. You will be, and will have what you desire most in life.r
