It is known that any form of art helps us develop our creativity and imagination. But did you know that it helps us express ourselves better? Some people, regardless if they have a medical condition or not may find it hard to express their thoughts and feelings. This can be quite frustrating if they have a problem and don't find the best way to describe how they feel in order to get the help they need. The inability to express themselves leads to frustration, anger, become so
Why do people gossip? It's maybe because of boredom, they're being mean, they've got nothing to do, or maybe because they do it out of envy--yes, they're torn between admiration and envy, that's why they simply gossip away since they can't do anything about it anyway. From our neighbors outside, our colleagues at work to the famous Hollywood stars, gossiping can be seen as another favorite pastime of everyone. But how about stopping gossip for good? Here are ways of how to ge
We are living during extraordinary times. The air is rife with possibility and consciousness is exploding. Everyday people are waking up as if from a deep, deep sleep, questioning to what values and systems they have given their power, energy and attention – and wondering what lies ...
Just a few years ago people managed to take care of work, the house, wealth - everything that was precious to them. Astonishingly we are all focusing on something called âstress managementâ these days. No matter the technological advances we made or how easy our lives are as compared to our ancestors, we still have to learn how to manage something not precious but as trivial as stress. Human mind and body are the most magnificent mechanism sculpted by nature. Our body nee
Mantra for Healing There was a time in my childhood when I was sick enough to die. The virus in my brain flooded the rest of me with pain, causing temporary paralysis, massive fever, and then coma. Eventually my personal ecosystem normalized, and for the most part I recovered. But the need to heal continues. Healing, after all, doesn't only mean recovery from illness.
Let’s get one thing clear: the Mayan Calendar’s end-date of 2012 is not about the end of the world. Although this time is prophesied as a time of renewal, of the estimated two million Maya Indians living today, none of them are waiting for the end of the world. In the ...
Has anyone ever said this to you: âDonât be so sensitive. I was only kidding.â If so, did it change the way you felt? Chances are it didnât because you had already taken the matter to heart, and it had already hurt your feelings. rnNeedless to say, not every hurt feeling can be avoided, but some can, especially the unnecessary ones. How? By looking for the love; i.e., the good intention, behind the act.rn rnRemember: if itâs not an act of love, itâs just a minor di
The reality of peace must actually be lived, by being expressed to others with unselfish caring, and responsive harmonious empathic attunement, along with indivisibly related qualities of goodness such as love, happiness, and beauty, because it is not truly real if it is only a static, abstract, presumptive, thought in the mind, without being lived, or expressed, as a dynamic, responsive, energy, through everything that we say and do, in every here and now present moment. I f
To test your open-mindedness, let me ask you a question. Imagine that I were to show you a picture of an angry and intimidating looking Arab guy with a big beard. What do you think? What is the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it the word 'terrorist'? If the first thing that came to mind is something along those lines, that's okay. What?! When I say that that's okay, I mean that it's not your fault . This image you form is simply the result of repeatedly seeing picture
Via speech or pen for clarity of thought language plays a major role. Language has aided uplifting of human civility and progress. Apart from humans those creatures who cannot express their emotions and thoughts face innumerable problems. These problems were faced by Adam Age man too. He felt distressed with his backward existence. As a result of inspiration for advancement efforts were taken recourse to. The biggest question to be answered was how to express oneâs thoughts
As a mother who enjoys saving money, I like to haggle and shop wherever I go. There is nothing to be embarrassed or be ashamed of. The fact is very practical. I do not have unlimited resources for everything I want. I need to be careful of money. I need to care about if it is really what I need. It is very natural and a skill that you should learn.
Divorce: Why It's Important Not to Alienate Children from Their Parents by Rosemary Fansher, M.A. aka HighConflictExpert
In the 20th Century, Mother Nature will be as wrathful as never before. A destructive state will set in wherein water will enter land and land will enter water. Only then a few pious men of the world will uplift world humanity. âThe energy that will transform this era will neither be political or that of any âismâ. This energy will be sentimental and will transform manâs psycheâ. - NOSTRADAMUS This is regarding an incident in the city of Milan. In the year 1515 A.D.
According to the news recently, nearly 350,000 federal employees were furloughed for 35 days due to the United States federal government shutdown starting on December 22, 2018. A job in the United States federal government is normally regarded as a good and reliable job. An official job, especially a government worker's job, is supposed to provide enough financial support to pay your monthly bills like credit card statement and utility bills. If the United States federal government can’t guarantee you that, no one can.
Most of us have routines. We do this, then we do that. I think routines are great containers for our lives. They provide a space in which to explore and live life fully. However, if the routine is not serving our highest interests, then perhaps its time to re-evaluate your routine and create a stronger container. http://www.mindysand.com My daily routine looks like this: I awaken, sit for meditation, stretch, eat and go to work. Throughout my work day which consists of seeing clients, skyping or phoning distance clients and time at my computer.
Busy! Busy! Busy! In this super high technology world, everyone is hijacked by smartphones, laptops, and social media. What is in your mind? What do you want? Everyone has his wish and desire. Everyone is derived by his goal. Everyone is chased by another for something. Certainly, you cannot be blamed for that. This is our life now. You cannot ask others to follow your rules. You have to follow their rules because you are in a group like the company. Naturally, there are conflicts and struggles to happen every day. What should you do? Why can you not have all them?

What is speed volunteering? Speed volunteering is when you do something free and it does not take much time. Open a door for someone. Smile when you can. Ask a neighbor if he/she needs something from the grocery store. Americans do not work together. And, we need to change. If a neighbor and/or a friend has trouble with an automobile, ask, "Can I help?" If you see a single parent, ask, "Is there anything that I can do for you?" Some of this seems silly. But, we could make lif
I believe that you all have experiences to buy many products when you want them. It is very natural and normal. The most important of all is to make sure that you have the ability to pay the bill after that. You understand the consequences and take full responsibility. Budgeting is the first thing that can help you deal with it. Everyone should have one to improve your financial situation and to get to know it more. Here are more tips to know why you need to do that: 1. Have a clear picture of how much you have

When I was young, I knew nothing about spending within my ability to make money. I did not think too much about why I wanted to buy these clothes or this cosmetics or if I really needed them. The first thought came to my mind at that time was that I wanted something and wanted to buy it for sure.
“A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life.”- William Arthur Ward Life is a journey of learning and finding the balance of life. What I would like to share in the next paragraphs is 7 essential elements to a Balanced Life. First of all, we need to think about two aspects: Internal and Exte al. Each of them includes several elements that you should look at carefully. Internal balancer Internal balance comes from the balance of mind, heart, and health, inside the body, and can hardly be seen or be measured.r
âEven today India enjoys the cool shade of protection from those Rishi men of austerities whose efforts helped it get freedom from hard hearted alien rule. We all want to have a lot of money to spend and would have the ability to buy anything we want. It does not happen very often in the real world. When we are young, our parents would pay for our food, school, entertainment, and etc. When we grow up and start to make money on our own, we start to work for our living. Then we just realize that we should not spend money at will and should be grateful for our parents to work hard to raise us and support us.
This time of year, many of us in the U.S. turn towards the practice of thanks giving –giving thanks. For me, this comes down to a very simple yet fruitful practice, mindfulness. Being mindfully thankful for the simplest gifts of life coupled with sense awareness not only gifts me with the Presence in the present moment, but with a very tangible interconnected thankfulness. Slowing down and using my senses to be present for as many moments as I can, brings me to a heightened awareness of the simple gifts of life for which I’m thankful.
Bullying and teasing is at the top of kids’ issues at schools, and with school set to open in soon, parents, teachers and school administrators must take caution and sensitivity in handling these issues. Childhood should be a time filled with wonder and joy, but the reality for many kids and teens is often much different. They're the victims of bullying and cyber-bullying at school or on neighborhood playgrounds. October 4 – 10th is National Bullying Prevention Awareness We
UPDATE: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Friday she hopes North Korea grants amnesty to two jailed US reporters The last time I spoke to my friend Michael Jackson was about a month ago, 3 weeks before his shocking death. He had called me late one night to ask about another of my close friends who he had read about in the news. Laura Ling , a former colleague and friend, was detained originally by North Korean border guards along with her colleague Euna Lee on March
Rise in Violent Crime Spurs Our Need for a Self Defense Weapon With so much going on in the world these days, the occurrence of violent crime is definitely on the rise, which makes the need for a self defense weapon on the rise as well. Between the controversial wars in the middle east, the decline in the economy both here and abroad, and the ecological disasters and their ramifications in the gulf and beyond, tension in our lives is on the rise. This inevitably brings out a

“GOD DOESN’T LOOK AT HOW MUCH WE DO, BUT WITH HOW MUCH LOVE WE DO IT” -MOTHER TERESA- The times of being a human “doing” is over. We are moving into the era of Human “being”; another way this is said, is – a Spiritual Being. We are not here to get – we are here to let the good, kind and love flow thru us to our fellow travelers on the earth plane. To keep reminding us of this, huge events such as 911, Katrina, Tsunami in Indonesia, wildfires, Columbine keep showing up and w
I recently met with a client who has long held a belief system about how others should behave in particular circumstances. As I listened to her confront her own assumptions, I was struck by the courage and humility it takes to really challenge a belief or a “should.”
Anger generally has an outward directed energy. Someone in your life does something that does not meet your expectations or standards and you get mad. Or they don’t do something they said they would do and you get mad. Or they fail you or someone you care about and you get mad.
I think that it's possible to cultivate a life of balance and peace? Do you? Seriously, do you? As a young mother, I knew that to be the kind of mom I wanted to be, I needed to take time for myself --- to meditate, to take care of my body, and reflect on my life. As an older mother, and so much more, the same is still true. I still need to take care of me. No one else is going to do that, it's entirely up to me. Having learned this early on, I bravely took up the mantle and make time for self care.
The sun streamed through the late southern summer afte oon in golden rays. And, there I stood in front of my grandmother’s mirror. It seemed huge and somehow magical to me. This was not the first time I stood in front of that mirror. My grandmother often placed me in front of that mirror and told me that it was magic. I just had to look long enough to spot the magic. Whenever I was upset about something or I did something wrong, she would stand me in front of that mirror and say, “You just stand there and look at yourself until you see God looking back. Then come talk to me.”r
Soundproofing is insulation against noise and can be achieved in one of two ways: reducing the noise and absorbing it. While the former is a case of introducing distance between the noise and the listener, the latter is about transforming the sound wave and suppressing with damping materials that absorb sound. These materials differ in nature - select each based on the type of soundproofing job at hand. Here is a breakdown of several soundproofing methods that have gained pop
Recently, several of the yoga coaches I’ve trained were talking about how their class and client numbers are down. I shared a few tips with them about how to bring those numbers back up coming from a dharmic place of service. If that’s also been a challenge for you, this might help. I invite you to come into this inquiry from a heart felt place of service. That’s a good place to start.
Thich Nhat Hanh a contemporary Buddhist monk, writes with great elegance of the joy to be found in bringing our awareness to the present moment. He encourages us to be so completely immersed in the task at hand that it becomes to us the most important thing in our life.
Casual elegance defined: casual (adj.): informal, happening by chance elegance (n): tastefully fine, luxurious; gracefully refined Casual elegance. The whole idea seems a bit contradictory. In fact, it's true that we are blending two distinct approaches to life and interior décor. However, for many of us these two ideas simply compliment each other. We believe a home should be warm, comfortable and inviting and at the same time embrace and reflect sophistication, beauty and
Honoring Our Veterans: A Discovery of Inner Peace ©Jane A. Simington, PhD. (Oct. 30, 2012). In countries around the world, every November 11, citizens stop and ponder the freedom they experience as a result of the sacrifices made by those who have served their country in the maintenance of peace and liberty. November 11th honors all living and dead Veterans for their patriotism and willingness to serve, and often despite great personal costs. In Canada, the day of honoring ou
The yogi who is established in a steady posture easily becomes immersed in the ocean of the heart.rn ~ Shiva Sutra 3.16 As I reflect on this sutra, what is most compelling to me is the phrase “ocean of the heart.” As we all know, the ocean can be still and smooth as a mirror reflecting the thousands of tiny diamond lights of the sun. Or, it can be swirling with tumultuous waves reflecting a sky of darkened clouds. In the same way, the heart can be calm and serene or it can flutter with anger and anxiety.r
Hot people massage is an interesting therapy for those who are keen on massage. This is because hot pebble massage apart from beautifying female skin, has some effects on revitalizing one’s health. It is preferred by many thanks to its capacity to bring balance to health.
Here we are just three days before Christmas. Well, I suppose I should reach into my vast stores of inspiration, wit, and good cheer; and bring you the most awe inspiring newsletter of the year. But, no, I actually believe I can do much better. I’m going to share a story with you, and it’s not The Night Before Christmas. But let me set the table first. I’m 55 and was fortunate enough to have found my life’s passion and work five years ago. So I earned my master’s degree and
Your state of being is at the heart of how you experience yourself in life. It informs your perspective and your choices. It is your responsibility to protect and restore your state. Yet, when your state is jangled by the challenges of life, you get thrown into a variety of very human reactions — anger, sad, frustrated, scared or even wild, over the moon joy. These reactions can be like a filter for a camera lens that distorts the perspective a bit. You cannot get a clear read on a situation through a distorted lens. These distortions color your view and disrupt your state.
From the quietly confident doctor whose advice we rely on, to the charismatic confidence of an inspiring speaker, self-confident people have qualities that everyone admires. Self-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives, yet so many people struggle to find it. Sadly, this can be a vicious circle: People who lack self-confidence can find it difficult to become successful. After all, most people are reluctant to back a project that’s being pitched by someone who was nervous, fumbling and overly apologetic.
The history of smoking is rooted in the past. Scythians liked to breathe the smoke of dried plants, various nations used smoke tobacco as the component of magic rituals. It is unknown who was the first person to whom the idea to inhale smoke came to. In 4‐5 centuries C.A. people tried to use stems or hollow bones of animals. However such pipe prototypes did not suit them anymore. Human imagination does not have limits, there were enough materials for free creation. Grea
In my last blog I wrote about my plans to travel with my father. By now, we have launched ourselves into the trip and I am in Turkey attempting to remember a language I spoke about 4 decades ago. The point of last week’s post was acceptance. Accepting yourself and others for who they are and how that is a most deeply loving act. This time, I want to focus on the balancing act that comes with acceptance in a relationship; the balance between accepting a person just as they are and not losing yourself or your own needs in the process.
We human beings are dynamic creatures and our relationships are vibrant expressions of that dynamism. But problems can often arise, especially in long term relationships, when we fall into the habit of thinking we know – thinking we know what our partner thinks, will say, or will do in a given situation. We turn our mates and even ourselves into static, one-dimensional images instead of allowing the full range of our potential to be expressed in each moment.
Listening to the news this morning, I found myself feeling both saddened and angry at some minister I don't even know. He intends to burn the Quran, despite General Petreus' conce that such action will put U.S. troops in danger, despite Secretary Clinton's admonitions, despite the fact that one of the foundations of our country is religious freedom. Where to start? Of course, the only place to start is my primary area of influence, myself.
According to Chinese astrology February 4th, 2013 marks the Solar New Year and February 10th the Lunar New Year. As we say good bye to the black dragon of 2012 we welcome in the energies of little sister the black water serpent. Snakes are closely tied with the Dragon as they are said to have come to earth as a dragon who lost his wings and scales.
Defensive driving courses are available both in classrooms and on the internet. The online courses have the advantage that you can learn at your leisure and in the comfort of your home. Basically, defensive driving courses are designed to impart knowledge regarding the risk factors involved when you are driving, how to anticipate these risks, and what steps should be taken beforehand so that you stay out of danger. Another yoga rock star, John Friend, has fallen, see this NY TImes Article. The unfortunate truth about people in power is that they sometimes abuse that power. Initially, these abuses of power are not typically grand. They are small betrayals that can lead up to big abuses if left unchecked. And we, as students and teachers are all vulnerable when we ignore those small betrayals, when we trust our teachers more than ourselves.
Chinese New Year is very important to me. It is the tradition that we have a vacation to say goodbye to the past and have a brand new start for the Chinese New Year. It is quite like Christmas and New Year in the west. During that period of time, almost everyone is off and comes back home from different cities and countries. It is really a happy family time.

Neale Donald Walsch shared in âConversations with God â An Uncommon Dialogue â Book 1â that all actions are either fear-based or love-based. This appears to be such a limited list of options, but upon reflection it can bring powerful awareness. Walsch goes on to share âfear is the energy which contracts, closes down, draws in, runs, hides, hoards, harms. Love is the energy which expands, opens up, sends out, stays, reveals, shares, heals. Fear wraps our bodies in cl
Goal setting is huge in our culture. We are a future and accomplishment oriented society and many of us live only to see the next day’s task completed. But what happens when something gets in the way? How do you react when an obstacle is placed in your path to your goal? Do you throw up your hands? Wait? Study? Laugh? Give up completely?
I went to see my daughters for an all too brief visit not long ago. This trip landed smack dab in the middle of several stressors that aren't part of my usual routines; the car was having trouble, house repairs from storm damage were underway and some critters that were supposed to live outside were making their homes in my home. I was ready for a little break from all the doing and chaos.r
Think of the qualities you associate with a warrior. I think of ferocity of determination, one pointedness in attention, and definite strength. Now think of the yogic quality of ahimsa. Ahimsa is one of the yamas (restraints) in Patanjali’s sutras. It is usually translated as nonviolence or non-harming. It means that we won’t hurt other people, animals, or plants. On the outside, it seems contradictory to pursue nonviolence with a warrior mindset. Nonetheless, I don’t believe it is possible to do it otherwise.r

When you get older and work for a period of time or when you are not satisfied with your income, you definitely would like to increase your income no matter how. Either you have a part-time job to sell your labor and service or you can make good use of your free time. That means what you do at odd moments is quite essential to have extra income or nothing.
People who are working at offices experience both ups and downs even though they are not as dangerous as some professions. For most of the people, a day at the office can be mentally and physically draining. The good news is that most of the companies have realized this fact and they have taken necessary measures to make the offices a better place for the employees to work. Purchasing reclining office chairs is one such measure that has been taken by offices that are located
Helping Ourr Children In Crisis Divorce...illness...violence. Crisis and hardship are no respecters of age. They shatter even the world of children and shake their security to the core. Consider this pattern to offer comfort, encouragement, and healing to children in crisis: Communicate It is crucial for a child facing hurt or loss to receive compassionate honesty from adult caregivers. False hope and empty reassurance may make initial reactions easier to bear, but will lead to distrust and delay acceptance of the reality of their situation. Connect

No doubt you have noticed the wonderful people, projects and programs rising into consciousness to help us deal with these challenging times. Over just the past year in America, Eckhart Tolle’s visions of A New Earth seeded spiritual awakening in millions of people watching “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Former Vice-President Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless work on the causes of and solutions to global warming, and now a brilliant young U.S. president, Barack Ob
In todayâs modern times a new branch of science has emerged called âFuturologyâ or science of the future. This branch of science after analyzing and gauging contemporary situations infer what shall happen in future. It is true that on the basis of present times at least a little bit of future events can be predicted. If a person today is involved in vile tasks we may infer that his future shall be bad and yet this inference may prove to be wrong. If in time he/she recti

The Grace of Spirit Life unfolds in such miraculous ways! It embraces such vast polarity with many unexpected ironies along the way. Each and every one of us is witness to this mysterious phenomenon. We just know it is true from day to day and throughout our lives. The impact is oftentimes instantaneous, yet at other times appears to be cumulative. What I have chosen to write about is something that truly cannot be captured or defined by our chosen language of words. Neverthe
Liberation. It’s a word that often gets tossed out as the goal of yoga or the goal of meditation. Liberation. Though it sounds enchanting and is delightful on the tongue, it can seem so unattainable and so intimidating that some turn away from liberation as a real goal, or don’t give it much thought. You go to a yoga class, enjoy the practice and leave behind the real promise and goal of yoga. Maybe you believe that you don’t have it in you to do what you think is required. Or maybe, you think that even if you tried, liberation is probably not yours, not in this lifetime.
It is true that everyone is happy when he or she has money to spend. It is true that everyone likes shopping. However, when you want to talk about paying off debt or loan, nobody is happy. You would see an unhappy face. You would see people who do not like to talk about it or are used to it.

You want that. However, it is not the way it works.

When I was a little girl, I never went abroad. Regarding foreign countries, all I knew was from history and geography classes. I did not know anything about the Mediterranean diet at all until I went to my first Italian pizza restaurant. Until now, I grow older and have some research and find out that the Mediterranean diet is really good for health. Get to know more about the Mediterranean Diet
Modern science has its own glory and progress has its own importance. One can never oppose the utility value and requirement of both these. Despite this itâs true benefits accrue only when both are used for wholesome creative goals of the world. Energy used for destruction always proves to be harmful.
