As I stood at Palm Mortuary in front of my son John’s casket, I found myself asking one of the most disturbing questions that paralyzed my entire nervous system; “Was I my son’s first Drug Pusher”?

To understand that question you must know more of the story. When John was born he had what was called the “Duffy Factor”. His liver enzymes were so elevated before birth that when he was born he was taken from me, put under a heat lamp, blindfolded and strapped down in the incubator. This was the medical protocol for Duffy Factor and it allowed for full light exposure to his body. He remained in this position in the incubator for twelve days. I was very limited as to the amount of time I could hold him. The touch of a mother and eye contact is crucial for bonding immediately after birth but John was unable to experience this. We now know early bonding is essential for proper development of the nervous system.

As a young child John’s nervous system suffered from a genetic disease called “Tourette Syndrome”. His father had a severe case and it is genetically inherited. Tourette Syndrome is characterized by unusual emotional behavior as well as facial ticks, twitches and addictions. It seemed that the older he was getting, the more he was having tantrums and throwing furniture around in the house. I was very desperate and searching for answers. I learned of the “City of Hope” and was encouraged when he was accepted as a patient. He was under the care of the Head of Medical Genetics at the City of Hope.

They prescribed the medications that seemed to calm him down and I was more than willing to go the pharmacies to get the drugs for him. I bought his first drugs for him. By the time he was seven, he was on six prescription medications for control of his emotional problems. I believed this was the correct and only thing I could to do at the time. I only learned later that other alternatives, less damaging to his already injured nervous system, were available. But the side effects of the medications soon became disabling to him. The side effects were “killing him”. He was taking Clonidine, Catapres, Zoloft, Ritalin and three other anti- depressant prescriptions. His depression and his weight gain made it difficult to climb up the stairs. The combination of the drugs caused him to be incontinent; a humiliation he could not bear.

I went to a holistic doctor and with his help we weaned him off the prescriptions. I then learned of Energy Psychology which uses the body’s own systems to adjust the emotional systems into balance. Energy Psychology was in its early stages and substantial advancements were being made in the field. Dr. Candice Pert, the doctor that discovered the endorphin receptors explains this in great detail in her book, “Molecules of Emotion”. Dr. Pert highly recommends Energy Psychology as a way to repair energy disruptions in the body which also affects our emotional system.

As a teenager, he performed very poorly at school because of his disciplinary problems. He was continuously being “kicked out” of school. Not having the ability to control his emotions followed him like his shadow. I began using Energy Psychology techniques on my son in 2000 and it was so effective that he went from sixty four parent teacher conferences to an “A “in conduct after just one session. If I had known about these free and easy tapping techniques earlier, I believe his life may have had a different outcome. Even though anyone can download an easy to follow manual from www.emofree.com, the general public is so brain washed that chemical medicine is the answer to all our problems. The average person cannot possibly conceive that these Energy Psychology techniques could work because it is free and easy no one is ever told of these options.

Good Luck did not ride on his shoulder. In 1998, he was hit by a car at a school bus stop. The knee was severely damaged and he had to receive ligament replacement surgery on three of the ligaments. He was prescribed strong “pain killers” for the extremely painful surgery. The knee ligaments did not stay in place but had loosened which would require an additional surgery. He was in extreme pain caused by the knee injury and was taking the prescribed medication. His bad knee caused him to fall down a flight of stairs just three days before he died and damaged the SB junction in the center of the cranium. The fall had caused a tremendous blow to his head. His breathing had slowed down to such an extent that the amount of painkillers he was taking completely stopped his breathing.

This is what appears to be the cause of his death on the surface. However, as his mother, I feel the drugs that I bought for him when he was a small child began his dependency on drugs long before his prescription for the pain killers he received for his knee surgery.

John died from an accidental overdose in October of 2005 at the age of 19. How easy it would be to blame Dr. Bass as the cause of my son’s death. I was told that Dr. Bass, who later was convicted of manslaughter for randomly prescribing drugs for teenagers, was the distribution source for the drugs that John became addicted to.

We now know that Energy Psychology techniques have been proven over and over again and are used at many of our nations Veteran Hospitals for Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. I became an expert in these techniques and my son funded years of research using sound instead of tapping in the techniques prior to his death. He received a large settlement from his knee injury and not only funded my research but helped me with many of our volunteer projects. We formed a nonprofit corporation called “Love in Action, Inc.”. Although John had worked with me on the nonprofit functions the year before he died, Love in Action, Inc. was only incorporated in the month of September of 2005; just two days before he died.
John was a gifted musician so we had “sound” in common. We both believed in the healing power of sound. His songs and story are on the www.loveinactioninc.com website including how to give to the Oasis Center; that was his favorite cause. He didn’t just give money to the Oasis Center but he came with me to the Christmas party and the Valentine party. He gave generously of his money and his time. He would put his arm around each child, look them in the eyes and handed them his gifts.

After my son’s death, he began communicating with me through sound and photo’s. He has helped me develop ways to improve Energy Psychology and overall heath with the use of tuning forks and vibrations. He has instructed me to develop a program using certain frequencies on a CD’s. The mothers that have infants in the neonatal units record their voices with soft OM sound frequencies as a background noise. This CD is played so only that infant can hear it. The sound of the mother’s heartbeat and voice combined with the healing frequencies will help with the emotional trauma of the baby being born and comfort the baby in the first days of life. In conclusion, I hope you never have to ask yourself the question that had to ask myself. We now have solutions to the drug addiction problems and it is free for the asking! Don’t wait until it’s too late!!!! Standing in front of a child’s casket is too late to ask. Ask and learn now.

Author's Bio:

Regina Murphy L.M.T., is the Founder of “Emotional Sound Techniques”. She is also a teacher, speaker, gifted multidimensional photographer”, author of “The Elusive Gift of Tragedy”, “Emotional Sound Techniques” and “Harmonic Massage”. She is the founder of a Nevada non-profit corporation called Love In Action, Inc. that is dedicated to assisting the emotionally challenged children in the custody of the State of Nevada and other emotionally challenged individuals in the Las Vegas area. After transforming her life from the owner of a very successful flooring company servicing the Las Vegas Casinos to a life of serving the community, she worked as a volunteer massage therapist at the Saint Theresa Center for AIDS and HIV patients and their families. This facility was under the Direction of Father Joseph O’Brian O.P. and the Archdiocese of Las Vegas. While working there Regina became very ill and after months of desperation was cured, what seemed instantly, with a miraculous method called Thought Field Therapy; better known as Emotional Freedom Techniques or Energy Psychology. Regina quickly learned this tapping technique and began sharing it with anyone who crossed her path in need of this therapy. She is an Approved Provider by the NCBTMB of continuing education classes.

Regina teaches “Emotional Sound Techniques” to lay people and professionals and has developed a “Harmonic Health System” for the lay person. This system uses the Meridian system of the body, an OM tuning fork and two quartz crystals. Her workbook on Emotional Sound Techniques at www.TheSecretsofSoundTherapy.com is a free download for those who visit the site. She would like as many people as possible to learn how to balance themselves.
